Midlife,
Is your calorie intake and exercise level the same every day?

My caloric intake is roughly the same. I am watching my carbs and maintaining ketosis which I have done in the past to get ready for a competition, where I was able to get down to 114 and very ripped. I know it works. What is different now is that I am on a med that causes weight gain where I wasn't before. I am seriously considering going off of it (my Doc has already said it is my choice) but haven't yet because I am nervous I will have a return of symptoms. I went from 118-120, which I weighed for 20 years, to 151 in record time. That happened 3 years ago. I have since had my med lowered twice and each time, I lose weight. That is how I got from 151 to 133 which is when I started keto dieting (3 weeks ago). I have lost an average of a 1.25 pounds week but I tend to stay the same weight for like 5 days before I drop.
As far as the gym, I have been hit and miss because I am studying to pass a license exam as well as working and I have been exhausted. After this exam, I will have much more free time to work out.

Sounds like you have a plan and have done this before.

Medicine can be tricky like that. I remember before I went on birth control pills to help with migraines, I was 109 lbs. I feel like I woke up and was 130 lbs. I was the same as you, 118-120 lbs for years, started lifting heavy again and gained a lb a month. I don't want the weight gain so I'm not lifting as often or as much and am trying for the same 1 lb but down.

How do you like keto?

I like it:) I am less hungry on it than when I eat a lot of carbs. I also have hypoglycemia and eating keto keeps my blood sugar more stable. My one vice is Starbucks. I have a years-long addiction. I really should skip but I get a tall breve w/ SF choc and it has about 7gms carbs. Its my heroin, what can I say? :) I am still losing slowly. I am ready to get into my old jeans yesterday! I have never been overweight until this med that I started 3 years ago. I weighed 140 when I was 9 months pregnant with my kids. It's tough. I'll get there. I may stop at 122 or so depending on what my muscle/BF is but I don't want to be big; just tight and obviously toned.

Same here, I would like to get back to 118-120. I'm done with adding muscle. I'd rather weigh less. I tried keto and gained. Lucky Charms seem to do nothing. My net carbs are still under 100g, that's as low carb as I'm willing to go. The keto wasn't fun for me since I'm not into meat or fat! It's tough if you don't like that stuff.
