Default Mid Summer Update!

Hi Everyone!
I haven't posted in 8 weeks so I figured it's time for an update!
I haven't fallen off track. I committed to losing weight late April, just over 3 months ago, and I am down 5 lbs. At first it felt like I wasn't loosing any weight but I consistently weighed in and charted on an app. I've been weighing in daily and I can see now from the little spikes and dips on the graph that I was losing weight this whole time, slowly and steadily.
I'm really pleased with my progress. At first I wanted to lose 10 pounds almost immediately. But honestly, I love this slow progress. It feels so good to be 5 pounds lighter and I'm really confident in the loss. There's no worrying about a weight fluctuation or regaining- I can see how my small changes are making steady, lasting results. Even better, because the habit changes were incredibly small and incremental it has not felt remotely like dieting or deprivation in any way. It feels more like an awareness of my weight and eating and is coupled with the confidence that my actions do produce results.
If I stick with my original goal I still have 6-8 more pounds to go. But I'm wondering if I'll be satisfied with simply another 5lb loss. I look and feel great now. It's amazing how 5lbs can make a difference.
Just checking in! How is everyone else doing?

I just wanted to congratulate you on your loss and also on your great attitude. So many people just want fast results, but your slower results are more likely to stick with you. Great job!

Default Slow and steady!

Thanks EagleRiver!
With something that is such a whole person experience, (eating, emotional processing and discipline, exercise, food preparation, nutritional education, group support or lack of, cultural influences, etc.) I feel like time is a necessary part of change. Slow and steady has ultimately been rewarding, even if initially disappointing.
A year from now I will be happy if I'm at my goal and maintaining, as opposed to losing fast for the summer and in a year looking to lose weight again for another swim season. I appreciate the encouragement! I'm planning on sticking with the adaptations and eventually losing the remaining 5lbs.
