I'm Back!!

  • I am back after a several year hiatus. I am ready to get and give support on this wonderful journey back to health!
I am 43 and have about 10-15 lbs to lose. To do it I am counting calories and running and strength training 5-6 days a week.
One question I have for any calorie counters in this group is how many calories do you get a day? I see conflicting things. I've seen that you shouldn't go under 1200 a day but the app that I use (Lose It!) says I should be eating about 1150 a day and even with that the weight is coming off very slow.
  • I have a love hate relationship with calorie counting. If I do it, I often think, hey I can still eat A, B, and C. I usually eat less by just intuitive eating, or I might log them from the previous day to track weight fluctuations. TBH I can't lose at this point and eat over 950 daily. 1100 is maintain territory and 1200 is a gain.

I don't really exercise and just track steps, so if I actually burned more (by working out) I would have to re-adjust for the proper energy.
  • 1500 to maintain at 5'5" 118-119 lbs

To lose, I need to eat under 1000 but I am not happy doing that, so I don't.
