Jen, thanks for starting the thread! Getting in here kind of late, but Happy 2nd half of June, everyone! Welcome to our two newest members - so nice to have more fine feathered friends.
I missed everyone, but have been dealing with...menopause! I did not realize so many women were wrassling with some pretty big-deal issues on a daily basis. Just thought it (menopause) was mostly hot flashes, which hadn't been a huge deal for me, and mood swings, which were obviously transitory. But then it started interfering with my sleep...that is where the quick losses, below, came from.
Now, I'm having a couple of servings of soy per day, plus taking evening primrose oil, and attempting to up my game on all fronts: exercise, relaxation, clean, clean eating, and getting off my patootie more often!
I feel that the symptoms that catch one's attention the most are meant to get you to take care of yourself for this next stage of your life, so you can be at your best. Pay attention to your bones, tend to your heart - all the things you hear before you're in this stage, but kind of looked away and pretended it didn't and wouldn't have anything to do with you, fingers crossed! That did not work for me.
June goals: Find out what works, health-wise, and do that!
Went to the doctor for blood tests on hormone levels this week, so that should help hone in. Pretty sure I need a little (?) more estrogen, but will try and get it from food and herbs. Even so, I bought a bottle of foam estrogen at the health food store yesterday, just in case!
