I am ALMOST to my goal. 8 lbs to be exact. However...I am ruining it! I am working out still but the binge eating is AWFUL. I am having a hard time controlling the food I put in my mouth and I feel extra hungry all the time. Anyone else go through this?? Is it because I'm getting close to my goal? I hate this feeling because I feel like I'm back at square one.
If you're really hungry, you need to eat better and modify your diet and macronutrient balance. More protein/fats? Are you eating enough to match your excercise levels? Is there a lot of sugar in your diet confusing your food needs?
If you're really bingeing, eating 1000s of calories in one sitting feeling a total lack of control of what you're doing and feeling shame and horribleness, you need to forgive yourself and improve on what's making you anxious, developing better coping skills that are not binge-restrict cycles. Exercise and therapy has really helped me. Dieting so so makes it worse.
I am struggling too. I lost 5lbs and have gained back 2. I ate 3500 calories yesterday.I am no where near goal.ugh.Going to try to stick to 1200-1300 calories this week and get back on treadmill. When you have a binge do you guys ever track the calories you have eaten?
Whenever I feel extra hungry, it's usually because more sugar has been creeping into my diet. Focus on healthy foods and you'll feel less hungry.
However, if it's more of a "mental hunger" than physical hunger, you might be feeling restricted. So try maintaining for a while. Maintaining is much better than gaining it back, and you'll need to do it soon when you reach your goal anyway, so it's good practice.
I do believe mine has a lot to do with allowing more sweets and sugars in my diet. So when I binged yesterday it was ALOT of carbs and sugars that I ate. I'm back on track today. Had some cereal for breakfast...going to have a small lunch and Subway for dinner (just to be safe!). Hubby wants to eat out and thats usually the only way I can is subway or LICS.
Well it's 2:00 where I'm at and so far so good. No binges. I feel absolutely drained though. Wonder if that's because of all the bad food or if it's due to my B-12 being low...I just got a shot of it today and got a coffee for lunch to wake me up some!
Nicholsfamily1987 - I am experiencing binging right now too so I can totally relate. Last year I lost 40+ pounds almost making it to the 180s and I thought I had it conquered. I went on vacation around Thanksgiving time and have not been able to successfully get back 100% on track since. I know my problem is sugar. On days when I omit sugar and eat more protein, I've noticed that I don't have the cravings and I do better. It's 3:20 my time and today has been good so far. I have been tempted by Girl Scout Cookies at the office but I have resisted so far. I am going to try really really hard to get through tonight and I know tomorrow will be easier. I hope you are continuing to have a good day! Hang in there and we will both get back to where we were. Let us know how your evening goes.
Day #2 of no binging has been good. I'm looking at between 1200-1220 calories by the end of the day and hopefully a good 30-40 minute workout. How are ya'll doing?
Day 3 no binging. Shoveled snow for an hour yesterday, heavy snow at that, ate 2200 calories yesterday and am down from 172lbs to 169.8 today. 1370 calories today
I've been struggling lately. I don't know why but I would binge eat every time I reach a new low on the scale. If I gain the next day (which is most of the time) I would do a fast. I do lose weight overall, just at a slower speed than I'd like, but I feel it's so unhealthy to keep doing this.
