Blondi - that is super you are working out - and with trainers!!

Marnie - thanks - I'm keeping at it. I think you have the right idea with IF.

Regarding Hashi's - me too. I'm gluten free because I'm low carb (for the most part). Not sure how gluten became the big bogey man right now but my Naturopath and Dr. want me to avoid it. I also read Getting to the Root Cause and that author wants it avoided as well. She points at leaky gut among other things.

Hovering at 146. Need to get back down this week. I met a woman yesterday who lost 20 pounds in two months going low carb. I need to get serious and started a food diary today.

Good luck this week!!

Yes Crimzon, I joined a club called Orange Theory Fitness. It is new to Canada but lots in the US? It is based on working out a group of people up to 24 and they put you through a routine for 60 minutes based on interval training and wearing heart rate monitors. It is cool. You see where you are at on a screen with everyone else as well. I am hoping it will get me moving in the right direction, downward again. I will be going again tomorrow and trying to start working out on my own at least 2 to 3 more days a week. I M hoping to keep at to to get in shape for the summer.

I am doing a low carb diet as well.

Well today the scale said 144 - happy to not have gained any over the week. I think I may have gained some and the lost some because I don't think I did that great on my calorie count. I did exercise and eat lots of healthy whole foods and vegetables. I am just going to try to keep the calorie count down and fit in some extra workouts this week.

Finally under 130. 129 and hopefully dropping. Trying something different and will see how it goes.

That program sounds great Blondi. I do pilates - that's about all I can manage now with some walks/hikes. Congrats for entering the 120's.

Raven - Me too, I hit 144 today!! I hope to be back to 142 in a few days.

Let's keep this going...

crimzon That is good. I hope to get back to the 130s soon but I have been stuck in the 140s for months now. I am doing good so far today... but now my grandma made like ... 4 dozen chocolate chip cookies. She made that many last week too and that had something to do with my calorie count going up. At the end of January I got down to 140 and then she made a chocolate cake, 2 batches of fudge, and a couple other things like pinapple upside down cake. As well as keeping us supplied with oreos and ice cream.. I am on an extended visit with my family right now. I will be leaving in a few weeks so I am just really trying to resist the best I can but chocolate is my biggest diet downfall. I know I don't have to have any but hopefully it will be easier when I get back to my house and I can control what goes into the kitchen.

Congrats to those who keep moving lower!

As for me, I'm still stuck. It's been a few weeks and it's just frustrating. My eating has plummeted a bit, but I'm still within my calorie range to see the scale tip. I did increase the intensity of my weight training sessions, decreased my weight training to three days a week, and then added in two days of pilates. I'm hoping this will be enough to make the scale move.

well 147 for Wednesday weigh in. I think I will stop only weighing once a week.. i'm feeling a bit discouraged. I just need to keep my calorie count lower. I have done great on exercise. I exercise 5 - 6 days a week. I hiked a mountain (not a big one) and my legs weren't even sore the next day. They are used to getting worked. but keeping my calorie count lower everyday is what is hard. I think it will be easier when I get back home. i'm on an extended visit with family and the person i'm staying with keeps buying chocolate syrup and cookies and ice cream and baking cake and cookies and breads and things that I try to avoid. I was doing good before I came down here. I was maintain in the 130s and now I can seem to get back down.

Hi Crimzon,

Yes I really like Orange Theory Fitness. I do find that after every work out, I got up 2-3 pounds. I think I am retaining water big time after it. It did go down a day later which was good. I plan to work out again tomorrow and see how it goes. Stabilized this week with the weight. Hopefully it is down again.

Raven-dont worry, you'll get back down.

Today, I'm 147.2, so I'm down. So I'm feelin good about that. I just want to see 145 soon.

Hang in there Durian - I'm up and down too and kinda stuck. Like this morning I was up a pound. I can't keep changing my stats everyday so I'll just leave it.

I think I should weigh daily.

Energie -

Raven - all that temptation! You can get back on track when you get home. Have fun with the family.

See you guys soon!

Hi everyone - I'm going to be hanging around here for a while. Since August of last year I have gained 15 pounds due to lots of stress in my life, partially due to dealing with my mother's lung cancer and death. I hit 150 day before yesterday and that was a wakeup call. That puts my BMI into the overweight category - I need to do something about this. I'd like to get down to the high 120's ultimately! I'm a calorie counter using MyFitnessPal, and I run (FitBit user) and lift weights.

So sorry for your loss Kilketay - I really am sorry. Hugs to you.

I also gained weight when my mom was sick with cancer back in 03. It was pancreatic. Very sad. Then my friend announced that I "got fat" when she saw me bent over the table doing something, signing something - really rude. I was weighing in at around 148-50 I can't really remember. Whatever - she was just happy to have overweight company.

My BMI is now in "normal" range but this is not a good weight for my bone structure/height - in my opinion.

Hang in there - I know it's rough.
