After another binge yesterday, I managed to stay within my calories today, even though most of them came from junk food. DH and I went to the gym after a 4-day break and now I'm feeling pumped and motivated to stay on plan for the next 2 weeks until my brother's graduation party.

Unfortunately (and obviously) the 4-day binge streak took a toll on my weight. The scale said 143.0 lbs this morning. My goal this week is to get below 140.0 lbs again. Hopefully by Sunday I'll weigh 139.x lbs, granted I am bloated from the binging plus PMS. Maybe TOM will come with a whoosh. Then, my next goal is to hit the low 137's by my brother's graduation party. We won't be having a splurge day this upcoming weekend. If I get cravings then I'll work them into my calories.

yoyoma - Congrats on your loss! When will you be going on vacation?

underanalysis - Congrats to you as well!

JenVitz - The 140s definitely suck ...they're so hard to get away from but you can do it!!!

143.4 this morning! Of course, I'm babysitting tonight so who knows what I'll eat or if I'll get to work out!

Hello lovely 140s

Looks like I am going to live here for a while (as I have been for most of the last five years!) But hey, it's better than the 150s, which is where I go more and more often these days.

I go back and forth about ignoring the "scale number" and focusing on it. When the number is going down it motivates me. BUT not enough that I don't go hog-wild and eat a bunch of crap and in a few days undo all my hard work of the previous 6 weeks.... um, yeah.

I love the feeling of being in the 130s! My body just does so much better there. I am not unrealistic - I don't expect or plan or even really want to be back in the 120s/high 110s - the weight I was for most of my life. That's not realistic any more. A few years ago I managed to get down to 129 and that was perfect for me but I didn't stay there. A couple years later I got down to 135 and maintained for almost a year without much effort.

I undid it all with my crazy carby binges - which I don't think even officially qualify as binges, just semi-psychotic urges to overeat very unhealthy, calorically dense foods. I'm a mess Oh I also have become quite sedentary with my desk job and move to a less walkable place.

Anyway - focusing on healthy habits now! Y'all are great inspiration. I need all the inspiration I can get.

yoyoma - we are around the same size. for probably graduating out of this thread. AAAAH I want to feel how it feels to be 139 again!!!

[Today: 147.6]

It did when I made it there a year ago but I've been fighting off 140 like my life depends on it! Who knows what I'll weigh tomorrow...so I'll stay here until I'm sure. =/

Congrats lovedancelive!

I'm still partying at 143.4 today. Last night I babysat for a family and their toddler had a hard time going down, so I didn't get any workout in, and they didn't have much food in their house, so my dinner wound up being tortilla chips and guacamole... but I still stayed close to my calories so I have no problems hanging out at 143.4

UA, good job staying around plan with such a tough food choice last night!

Congrats, LDL! Even if you do bump back up, the trend is down. The 130's are yours!

JenVitz, special social meals are good for the soul, and the effect on the scale is temporary if we don't do it too often. In fact, I don't even consider special dinners as "off plan," but rather they are a part that I limit in frequency.

Emma, and thanks! I hope to whittle down a little more before I leave, but I expect to be back in the 140s after vacation.

Hoopty, maybe you could find a way to eat less restrictively normally? Here's what seems to work for me... I eat 2 squares of Lindt dark chili choc (good flavanoids!) each day and I also eat one or two SF fudgesicles most days. There's also some store-brand low-cal high-fiber cereal I eat on days I'm really craving more of something sweet, which I eat w/whole milk. These foods don't trigger me (the spiciness of the chili choc is important) and I think eating them regularly may help me avoid binging when I do run across other treats.

I'm leaving on vacation for 2 weeks in early August. I always gain, since we end up eating out a lot. Hopefully this time it will be less since I plan to stick with my eating window. It's really a DH vacation (visiting his relatives). I should be able to work at least some hours remotely, and some years I don't need to take any vacation time.

After DD and DH came home, I did bump up a bit in weight (to 138.6 yesterday and 138.4 today). Probably because I had a real cooked dinner (broccoli & turkey burger scramble) and ate more than usual... I had been eating more salad w/cheese & beans, fruit, marinated veggies, etc, while they were gone.

I lost the weight from my sisters BBQ. So that is good. Now I need to lose the weight from the fair! At least the scale is going back down.

UA - Nice job staying within your calorie range even when choices were tough! That is an accomplishment!

yoyoma - Thanks for the encouragement! You are right. Those special outings are good for my mind and soul. I am trying to figure out what we are doing for the 4th so I can plan accordingly.

yoyoma - I actually don't restrict myself during the week, it's the "I can eat everything I want on the weekend"- mindset that I need to get rid of. Where will you be going to in August?

-

Okay, TOM arrived and the cravings disappeared. I had my second OP day today and I'm down 1.6 lbs. I'm hoping that this trend will continue.
