Hoopty, good going for saying no to Turkish food temptation and finding a fix in the oatmeal... and great news on the scale!

LDL, your trend is looking good... there will always be some bumps in the journey.

Welcome, Valid! You can do it! Wow... you've managed to lose so much already!

I did eat out last night and this morning I nudged lower back to 141.0, so now I'm even with my ticker, lol! I ate pretty low-carb, so that probably helped (sashimi instead of sushi and no dessert, but I did have appetizer dumplings and plum wine). I was pleasantly stuffed and my friend and I saw a great show after that, so all around a success.

And this morning I'm back down to 140.0. I will be eating out again tomorrow night, then I have reunion activities, so there are some speed bumps on the way.

Yoyoma, 140! that's great!
I weighed in at 147 today. The scale isn't budging but u was pleasantly surprised when I went to buy shorts and I fit nicely into a 6. I was resigned to buying 8's. I've been holding off buying anymore clothes as it's starting to get expensive but I really needed shorts. Spent the day walking 8 miles total, it was a beautiful day. I need to stop worrying so much about the scale and focus more on the tape measure...it's a hard shift to make.

Yoyoma - Don't worry, you're so close to the 130s, you'll get there very soon even with all the speed bumps!

Sassyblonde - I totally understand where you're coming from with the weight vs measuring. It's frustrating to see a "high" number on the scale even though you're actually losing inches. You are on the right track though which means the scale will soon be nice to you as well

--

After 2 days of weighing-in at 141.4 lbs the number dropped to 139.6 lbs this morning I was surprised to say the least. I am PMS-ing, TOM should be here in 2-3 days and I haven't worked out in 2 days but I'll take it! I also did my measurements today and I lost 1-2 cm everywhere I do it every 2 weeks but I had accidentally skipped last week.

Today is my splurge day. I've already had pancakes with Nutella, peanut chips and I'm eating Ben & Jerry's Half Baked ice cream as I'm typing this DH and I went for a 2 hour swim so I did burn a few extra calories. I will probably end the day at 3000.

I ate out last night, including dessert, and weighed in at 139.6! The day before I was at 139.2. So, I am going to take ownership of 140 on my ticker!

I do have some food challenges coming up later this week, so I may foray north of that mark. I am going to try not to stress if that happens, because things will get back to normal and this approach is working for me in the long run.

Yoyoma, YAY! What approach are you using? Maybe you mentioned it and I missed it.

Hoopty, congrats on your scale and tape measurements! I hope your splurge day was great!

Sassy, I use a small eating window (6PM - 8:30PM), raw veggie/fruit first course, measuring healthy fats, starchy foods, and chocolate, and free feeding entree (protein/veg/sauce). So, if you want to give it a name, it's primarily IF, but there's also some volumetrics (veggie course) and it's lowish carb (measuring starch and choc) and mostly whole foods and I also try to throw in some mindful eating (stopping when full). I pretty much eat whatever I want when eating out, but I tend to choose lowish carb entrees.

I've bopped around the past couple days, but today I am at 139.4.

145 this morning. Oh my gosh! That number had been quite difficult to get to! Technically that means I am normal BMI. I nearly teared up! I know it's a number and I am not done yet but I am happy!

Congratulations, Sassy!!!

I've been weighing in just under 140 the past couple days, but I'll be eating out tonight and at a reunion brunch tomorrow, so I expect to be up next week. Have a good weekend everyone!

Congrats to both of you, Sassyblonde and yoyoma!!

I have been bouncing between 139lbs and 140lbs though it's TOM. I know I would've seen 138.x lbs this morning if I hadn't eaten 3000 calories worth the junk food last night I will see 138lbs soon, I just know it!

I was lazy and ate maintenance calories for the past 3 weeks, but got back on the weight-loss horse in the past couple days. I dropped 1 lb this morning, so it looks like my "food vacation" was a good thing for resetting the metabolism a bit.

Hoopty, hang in there. You know we all slip up. Get back in the swing and you'll get there.

Arwen, you're doing great! Sometimes we need to coast a bit.

The reunion activities did throw me for a loop. Also, I've been busy and exercising very little. On top of that, I went back to the Korean store this week, so I've been eating more higher sodium foods (marinated veggies, etc). Scale says: 141.4. Hopefully some of that will flush out in a few days.

Arwen17 - How have you been doing?

yoyoma - Crossing fingers for you! Water will be your best friend

--

I've been weighing-in at 139.6 lbs - 139.8 lbs for the past 3 days. I'm gonna aim for 1600 calories today and then tomorrow will be another splurge day even though I will keep my calories below or right at maintenance of 2200. I'm gonna bake that carrot cake again that I made a few weeks ago but this time I'm gonna substitute all-purpose flour for whole-grain flour, almonds for walnuts and I'm gonna leave out the cream cheese frosting since it has way too many calories. Instead, I will buy dark chocolate, melt it and use it as a ganache. I'm gonna freeze half of the cake, so calories should be around 1100 which leaves me with another 1100 for the day. I can't have 4000+ calories on my splurge days anymore.

One foot in front of the other as life goes by. Deep breathe.

Yeah, the less you weigh, the lower you have to eat and more the self control it takes.

Hoopty, hope you like the adjustments on your cake recipe! Another idea would be to make a half-batch of the cream cheese frosting. Freezing half the cake is the big win. All the enjoyment comes from the first half!

Hi, Arwen it's true we need to make adjustments as we lose. The trick is figuring out the adjustments that work for each of us.

We will eat out for Father's Day tomorrow, but that probably won't be a huge challenge for me. I've lost my exercise mojo (I'm hoping to get back into the swing a little this weekend), but I had no problems getting back on track food-wise after the reunion fetes. Most of the salt weight has flushed away. The scale is down to 139.8 this morning.
