I'm certainly eating enough in quantity and ended up close to 1400 for total cals.

LOL honestly that looks pretty good to me! :) I love all those things! How long are you going to continue with the 'safe' foods before you start trying to add some of the potentially irritating foods back in to your diet?

I've also been working in more yoga. Just a few minutes here and there, but it does wonders for my mood.

In interesting news, the pics from our orchestra photo shoot are up:
http://www.havilandstudio.com/

You look very focused in that photo (and very pretty!!)

I'm glad you're finding some enjoyment in the yoga. I don't practice any yoga for realsies, but I have taken to sitting on the floor when I watch TV. I find that it encourages me to stretch, use my foam roller, and I do a few downward dogs and stuff during commercials. :) Even though it's not structured yoga just that little bit relaxes me and makes me feel like I'm doing something nice for my body.

@Jossfit - Oh man. Sounds just like me (how you used to be). One LITTLE thing off plan and the entire day was blown and yep, had the exercise mentality of, whats the point? This little 200 calories burning exercise is NOTHING to my binge. Then I spend the next hour planning my "new plan". So great you overcame that. I am trying. Slowly but surely.

LOL, Oooooh yeah... since I had one bad day that must have meant that there was something wrong with my 'plan' and therefore I needed to scrap it all and start again! What a waste of time and energy!

I want to just get to where I am supposed to be. Where my knees dont look bigger because theres too much fat for my structure. I think that size will put me around a 0. So basically two sizes smaller.. We will see though.

Right on, just curious. :D You mentioned not having a goal weight so much as a size so I was wondering what that might be. I find that with vanity sizing and all that I have NO CLUE what size I am or even would like to be. I've got sizes 0 (LOL, ONE size 0) to 6 and there seems to be no rhyme or reason for any of it!

olehcat : Oh I HATE when they put the calories amount for like the half of the package when they obviously know we will eat the whole thing. Sometimes I wonder if it is only some nasty marketing trick to let us think we're not eating that much calories if we don't realize it was only the amount for half of it...! Have a good run!

TheBunneh : Good morning to you too! :)

Dianne : My weight fluctuates a lot too with water from a day to another. I tried to weight weekly for a while but it was driving me crazy... I prefered WI daily to have the opportunity to see a random low during the week I guess. I do check my weekly loss or gain every friday though, to see if it is clearly going forward :)

As for the working out routine, I always did a lot of cardio (running/biking) since I started running 18 months ago. Lately I've added weight training to it to improve muscles definition. I posted more about my weekly work out routine on the thread you started :)

Alexis : For the cupcakes : yes, he made up a sign saying for which cause it was and everything (the ironic thing is that it is for the hospital foundation those lab are associated too! it's not like they don't know the institution or anything!). The boyfriend did mention that a lot of people bring free goodies jsut for the pleasure to share on the floor the results of the sale bombed out... Anyyyyways. They are still cheap in my opinion LOL Not even 2$ reached by cupcake.. If you don't want to give money for a good cause, it's fine, just keep your fingers out of the food..!

That is a huge orchestra you're part of! The pictures are really nice :) And OMG salt and vinegar chiiiiips. Did you ever tried the Miss Vicky Balsamic vinegar one? They are to die for!!

Joss : I saw your WOOOOOOSH while spying the daily WI thread! You must be so thrilled! Specially after having a rough day, talk about a great reward!!

Yeah, 2$ for a cupcake isn't that bad, but the thing is that for the one he put on the lower floor, he did not even reached 2$ per cupcake! He hit like 1,60/1,75... I was astonished. The cupcakes were obviously all home made, and it was not some crappy cake mix or something. 1$ is something you give randomly on the street to any cause, and as I was saying to Alexis, if you don't want to give out to a cause closer to you when you actually get a treat in return, at least keep your sticky fingers out of the food :P At least he got close to his goal!

OMG, that is a bunch of calories burned for your hour of cardio! GOOD JOB :D

Hi ladies!

Up to 140.6 pounds this morning, but I'm not stressing out much. I did a huge workout tomorrow and I am a bit sore today. Plus I did not poop yesterday, I guess it is not helping. Anyways, I was checking myself out in the mirror last night (that sounds so VAIN bwhahaha) and I was quite please with what I was seeing so far, especially on the shoulders and upper abs (getting flatter, yay). I still dislike the legs though, they are still feeling like big chicken tighs, but I'll get there :)

I did had a cupcakes last night from the three that remain from the sale, but they were little cupcakes, so it wasn't that bad. I burned about 600 calories only in cardio yesterday so it probably made it for it anyways :) Plus the dinner was fairly healthy, I had a single WW chicken/red pepper bell fajitas with a bit of salsa and greek yogurt with a green salad and low fat dressing.

The plan for tonight is meat/tomatos mac with maybe broccoli on the side to cut down the carb a bit. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to do some workout at home this afternoon, maybe some abs, I feel my legs won't feel cooperative if I squat anyways ;)

Have a good day ladies! :)

krampus 02-20-2013 12:53 PM

Hi Feathers!

I had beer and a burger for dinner and weighed in at 123.8 pounds this morning. Met friends out and it was so nice to hang out with everyone, felt like a taste of spring/summer fun. Some fat man ATE MY BURGER and the cook had to remake it, but it's just funny at this point more than anything. Burger was great - got it with bleu cheese and only ate the bottom part of the bun. Beer was great too, I love how it only takes one to get a buzz going.

Have a healthy lunch packed and am planning on making today a cardio day. My roommate's brother is coming over for dinner. He only eats chicken fingers and pizza - wonder what she's going to make?

Dianne For me intermittent fasting ish = eating two giant meals starting late in the day. I have coffee with Coffee-mate creamer in the morning and have my first meal at 1-2 PM, second meal at 6-7 PM, but no rules. I have NO IDEA what my macro counts are (sorry!), calories are probably 1800-2000 a day on average, maybe less recently since I seem to be losing. Lifting is good, if I were seriously training and eating for it I'd be doing better, but I have been just tossing weights around since spring 2012 and my body looks SO MUCH BETTER than if I were just dieting and running - and most important of all I can eat a lot!

JossFit WOOHOO for whoosh! I don't take any pre-workout supplements or enhancers, maybe that's something to consider if switching macro ratios around doesn't work. I am happy to see you're energized well for all that cardio and making lifting gains!!!

Alex Good photos, nice concentration face! Are you first chair viola?? Did your elimination diet day 2 yield the same improvement in gastro results?

TheBunneh Morning!

olehcat ARGH that is frustrating about the packaged meal. I hate when they do that. Who microwaves a dinner and eats half? You can't refreeze it! Hope you have a good run after work and de-bloat.

TurboMammoth Whaaaaaaa? Your boyfriend's downstairs neighbors are a bunch of cheapskates. Hooray for increasing all your DB weights - isn't it nice going to the gym and being able to lift more every week? I didn't do Zumba last night - another time. I'm terribly uncoordinated too and generally a bad dancer.

Dorian5 Feeling any better today? Soooooooomeone's going to propoooooooose to youuuuuuuuuuuu! Giada probably only eats the fried wontons with Nutella and starves the rest of the day...seriously very few adult women can actually eat tons of junk and be very thin/lean without effort.

Alexistrophic 02-20-2013 03:34 PM

Joss ~ Even a little bit of yoga can have that effect of feeling *cared for*, at least it does for me. It's just the best thing for me, mind and body. Any time I've lost a significant amount of weight, yoga has been part of my daily routine. I live in my head too much and yoga forces me to come back into my body.

Not sure when I'm going to start adding foods back in. So far, so good with no wheat, dairy, or corn, so I'll probably try to keep it up for a week or so and then gradually add them back in.

Dianne ~ I find the same thing about foods with fewer ingredients, except when it comes to sweet. No matter what the form: agave, honey, or haagen daz, sweet foods tend to bring on the cravings.

Krampus ~ Yep, I'm 'first stand' viola, but 2 out of 5 really ain't all that impressive. And really the only reason I'm not 3 out of 5 is because the lady behind me "retired" and refuses to sit principal. She's 75 yrs old. She's entitled.

Turbo ~ At full strength, we're about 80 people. It's kind of insane. Our personnel manager is a genius. And no, I don't think I've tried the balsamic vinegar potato chips although now that you mention them I'm going to be on the lookout.....

Bayzee 02-20-2013 04:31 PM

Happy Wednesday Feathers!

Still pretty sick. I should be staying home from work, but I'm just too busy right now. I can't remember a time where I've felt so congested for such a long period of time. I think it's more than bronchitis because it's not clearing up at all. I've been on antibiotics since Friday, and still no improvements...they should have kicked in a bit by now. I will go back on Friday to the doctor if I don't feel any better. Apparently, there is a respitory "flu" going around...cough, fever, sore throat etc...If that's what I have, the antibiotics won't help at all.

I'm still doing my workouts, although they have not been as strong as my energy is low, low and low! No cardio though and I still have a decent appetite.

Oh...and BTW, my husband removed my "scale tape". I was pretty upset with him as it's the one thing I asked him not to touch. My weight is all over the place depending where I place the scale on the floor. So, I weigh myself 3 times and go with the middle number. I WILL be putting down another piece of tape! lol!

Krampus...How can you eat so much and be losing weight? Send some of that over to me!

Olecat...I know it was a few posts ago, but I'm sorry about your ex having a girlfriend. Whenever I broke up with someone (or them with me:), that was THE hardest thing. Not that I necessarily wanted them anymore, I just didn't want anyone else to! This is likely the "rebound" girl, so it wont last! lol!

Dorian...Seems like we have the same symptoms! I know how you feel. I could totally take the cough if my head would stop pounding! lol!

Now about the ring...it's nice to hint but one thing I totally regret about mine, is that I basically told him what to buy! I SOooo wish I would have let him pick it on his own. I din't even feel surprised by the ring when he proposed because I totally "picked it out", without actually picking it! lol! It would would have been that much more special NOW...(not then when I was obsessed about size, clarity etc..)! LOL!

Alex...
Those pictures are great! I envy anyone who can plan a musical instrument as I have ZERO musical talent! I can't even keep a tune and I actually make up words to songs, because I never really hear what they are saying! lol!

Joss...A big "whooosh" indeed! Way to go! Your hard work is paying off. If I had to do 2 cardio sessions, I would have quit by now! You are a strong and determined person, and there will be more wooshes coming soon!

Turbo...
When I first started wight training I was lifting pretty light. Not because I could not lift heavier, because I was scared to get hurt. I am fanatic about form, and without some "real" training, I get nervous that I might do damage. My trainer incorporated "Good mornings" and I am still nervous to up the weight to my capacity. I just don't like where the bar sits. BUT...on virtualy everything else, I've doubled, tripled and even quadrupled my weight amount since I started. It does feel great when you see improvements and feel stronger. I can't beleive I didn't weight lift before! I SO wish someone would have told me to try it years ago!

Diane...I don't go by size either. I find I can be all over the map depending on the brand, the cut, etc. I love your attitude about scale weight...I SO wish I could break that.

TheBunneh...Well I guess it's almost evening...so good evening! lol!

Kakers...Sorry...there's so much chatting I can't remember what you posted last! lol! I hope you are doing well :)

Dianne042425 02-20-2013 04:50 PM

Im just in one of those cranky/whiney moods! I hate those :tantrum:

@Jos - I totally agree. Sizes are crazy nowadays.. You can have a range of 4 different! Its all about how you look and measurements. I dont think a size says anything at all!

@Krampus - Oh WOW! 2 times a day?? I dont know if I could do that. But i guess youre not thinking of food all the time which is a plus. Helps with binging. Also, weight training has helped that much?? Do you lift heavy? How long are your weight sessions? Do you lift every day? Youve been lifting for a year now you said?

Thats HILARIOUS about the guy eating your burger. MMM I love burgers. How are you losing on burgers and beer?! I guess proportions are everything. And how do you get buzzed off one beer? Waa! Not fair !

@Turbo - Um YUM! Your dinner sounds awesome. I cant wait till I can look in the mirror again and things "not bad". It stinks. You dont know what you have till you lose it. When I was "losing" and "dieting" last time, I was only down like 8-10 pounsd and I wasnt at goal or happy but I was felt, ok not bad. You actually have a decent body now. Man, what I would do to be back there!! My tummy was so little. Damn binging, takes away your tummy no matter what body type you have! I gain in my lower body first but I still dont believe I meant to be "bigger" in any area..

@Alexstrophic - I have to STAY AWAY from sweets. I get the worst and longest cravings. But ironically, I am not sensitive to carbs. I can eat GOOD rice, breads, grains, etc all day long without it hurting my track or cravings..

@Bayzee - Im sick too :) THIRD time this season. I never get sick. WTF hah its been an epidemic!! Hope you feel better!

olehcat 02-20-2013 09:39 PM

wow, normally I do my posting in the morning, haha. I'm still in a bit of a funk, but feel a lot better about things and life. Usually Wednesday night I'm with my writing group, which consists of four of us and we're pretty good friends who are my only real local friends. But it got canceled today, due to my friends all being insanely busy. AND I was preening recently about there being NO snow on the ground for weeks and weeks. So now we're supposed to get a storm tomorrow night, ugh. Well, at least now the timing is that it's waiting until most people are safely home from work/school!

I had a great run today. I did 3.5 miles and I really felt that I was working hard -- my heart rate was up, I felt the burn in my legs and I was drenched with sweat afterwards. Also...you know I've been doing some minor strength training on machines the last few weeks, just twice a week? Well, a minor triumph. We're not supposed to have microwaves in our classrooms because of a supposed fire risk, and so there is only one allowed microwave in the staff break room. There is always a HUGE line for it. The lady I share a classroom with (we teach small groups, that's why there are two of us) has a forbidden microwave, and so in order to keep things super secret, we have to pull it out when we use it and then immediately put it away so nobody catches us with it. So today I was the only one who used it and so as I was putting it away, I realized that it was no strain at all, and that it was easy -- and I realized that I had gotten just a wee bit stronger! :) That was a nice triumph!

@TheBunneh - heh, yes this is a chatty group! I love it! It makes me feel like I'm hanging out with some friends at a coffee shop every time I check in! :)

@Dianne - I was pretty good today, although I did cave and have a glass of wine! But I did eat minimally for dinner. THe daily fluctuations drive me INSANE with weight, but what I often will do if I get into a good pattern of daily weighing is to take the five-day ongoing average. It's not as flukey! Interesting what you said about sizes -- I feel like I'm meant to be a LOT smaller than I am right now, too. I have been a 2/4 and looked GREAT, and I wasn't even at my ideal weight, so I imagine that if I were my ideal weight, I'd be in zero land, as well! That's an odd thought! (Ugh, right now I'm wearing 8/10, which is HUGE for me)

@Alex - YES, happiness today! :) I hope you had a good day! Mine was pretty decent. Work went well and I didn't eat too much. I did have a glass of wine, but I SO WANTED more than a glass and I didn't give in. *feels virtuous* And awww...GREAT picture!!! That's so neat that you guys have official photos!

@jossfit - wow, I hear you had a whoosh! AWESOME! :)) That must feel so good after all the waiting! :) And yeah, I was super annoyed about the serving sizes. Stupid. And as for my name? it's my cat's name spelled backward and then "cat," I originally made up the name for diet forums I've been in over the years, hehehe. I'd be mortified if anyone in real life ever "discovered" me on all these diet forums and found out my real weight (haha), I guess that's unlikely, really, so I'm not actually that terribly worried about it, lol. And you are AWESOME with your workouts!

@turbo -- I DID have a great run today -- REALLY felt the burn and was sweating hardcore by the end! :) Oh, those little cupcakes sound delicious!

@Krampus - LOL on the fat dude eating your burger. wtf? I do feel less bloated after my run, but still really feel icky when I look at myself in the mirror. It's like I'm someone else. It's weird> I really have to crack down on this stuff. At least I need to be back in the 130s, where I was for several years and at least didn't look chubby there!

@bayzee - sorry you're still sick! :( I went through that in the whole month of December. Stuff in my lungs-- couldn't stop coughing or breathe right enough to run. I didn't run for about a month and a half because of it! It really sucks. And thank you! Yes, rebound girl. That's what I'm going to call her! :)

Dorian5 02-20-2013 09:55 PM

Feeling worse today than I did yesterday. So I've been sick for 5 days straight now. Losing my voice tonight, bleh. SO DONE WITH THIS! Although, because I've been sick I haven't been drinking alcohol at all (save for a shot of whiskey on Sunday to see if it would help the throat -- which it absolutely did.)

Peeked at the scale this morning - I'm up .8 lbs. Oh well, I'll chalk it up to the sickness and dehydration and all that.

----

Dianne042425 - When I'm buckled down and focused, I usually get about a pound a week; I struggled in January to get on track, but February has been great for me so far! YES let's get to 130 together by St. Patty's Day! :carrot: I am counting calories, I make sure to stay around 1200-1300 over the week, but I find my calories closer to 1600/day on the weekend. Haven't been working out except for the daily 1 mile walk with the dog though. :o

TurboMammoth - We CRACKED UP seeing that guy catch that puck in mid-air, that was excellent! Sorry about those cheap b!tches cramming cupcakes without donating. :mad: I'm sure you're up on the scale because you're retaining water from your workout. Cupcake and dinner sound great, omnomnom. :T

olehcat - Multiple servings in a single serving-looking pack drive me CRAZY! :mad: The biggest crock is a 20oz soda - 2.5 servings in a bottle!? Enough for you, a friend, and ... what, a midget??! Good luck with your run, sorry you're feeling all bloaty/yucky. :(

TheBunneh - Good morning yourself! (well, evening now :lol: ) Hope you made today a great one!

Alexistrophic - :hug: You are a sweet daughter for helping your mother out. Thank you for your kind words, and I really hope something turns around for both you and your mom. You look so lovely in the orchestra!

JossFit - D@MN WOMAN! That is one HECK OF A WEIGH IN! :carrot: Glad it finally turned around for you!

krampus - Aw shucks! Guess I really do need to work on getting skinny now, haha -- especially if there are engagement pictures (which I never really understood the point of, is that a southern thing or do people take engagement pictures everywhere?) Anyway, I CANNOT BELIEVE A FAT MAN STOLE YOUR BURGER, omg. How old is your room mates brother? My cousin is like that, he will NOT eat ANYTHING that is a vegetable, he's 35. Phew, I would kill for a buzz after 1 beer. Hope your cardio went well!

Bayzee - Yep, sounds like you and I have the exact same thing. It started with this sore throat that felt like I'd swallowed razor blades, then came the headache, now the throat isn't quite as bad but I have a cough and this awful green phlegm-y crap comes up, blech. Pretty consistent low grade fever. I'm impressed you're still doing workouts! That is funny about your scale tape, I move my scale all around the bathroom and take the lowest number I can get! :lol: I made it into my kitchen in my underwear once trying to get a level place for the scale -- we have no curtains, if the neighbors saw there's no telling what they thought. :o HOPE YOU START FEELING BETTER!

I told beau what diamond shape I like (emerald cut makes me swoon) and that I like 3-stone rings... but after reading what you said, I think I would really like to let him put his own personal touch on it too, thanks for the insight! That would definitely make it more special.

olehcat - Almost missed ya! NICE run, I hope you don't get too bad of a snow storm!! I really liked reading about how the microwave was no problem to lift, that's really cool that you're already feeling the difference from weight training. Keep it up!

XOXOXO LADIES!

Alexistrophic 02-21-2013 09:50 AM

Dorian ~ YUCK!!! For still being sick!!! (only a .8 gain is a victory in my book. When I'm sick, I tend to eat everything in the house, if only out of boredom.) Hope YOU start to feel better soon!!!

bayzee ~ Oh, the scale tape... lol - the little things that keep us focused... I read about it and was like.. "Oh, that's a good idea." (to keep the scale straight and in the same place, right?) Boo to hubby for moving it.

Dianne ~ Interesting thought about the healthy grains... I suppose I'm kind of the same way, although a slice of sprouted wheat, whole grain bread doesn't sound as appealing without a blob of jam on top... (heh)

Olehcat ~ High five and way to go on your amazing run. I giggled at your contraband microwave... My goodness... Of all the things to be a fire hazard... and then some kid brings a blowtorch to school or something. Sometimes I feel like the school systems take it to far. Best of intentions, but come on now... I like the sound of your writer's group! How long have you guys been meeting?

~~~
In the food elimination world... *ding ding ding* we may have a winner!
I went over to a friend's house for dinner last night and she made (an amazing!) white bean chicken chili. Didn't realize until most of the way through the meal that I was putting cheese on top of it... So since I figured that I already had dairy in my system, I had some yogurt and a bit more cheese when I got home, to see what would happen. Had a little trouble that night, but I was really wrecked this morning. (like MAN was that fast!) Now, I'm not sure if it's only the dairy, or the combination of dairy+meat that did me in. Either way, it feels like a golden clue to what's been going on in my tummy. (If completely cliche... Oh, well...:rolleyes:)
Even though cals were around 1500, I still woke up with a gain (boo!) but I did eat mostly in the evening (a la moderate IF) I wonder if it was the dairy, the late night eating, or the dates that I added in yesterday. (little calorie bombs, they are...) So I'm cutting out dairy again, eating earlier in the day, but keeping in the dates, so will see what happens...
Dianne042425 02-21-2013 10:03 AM
Ahhh! Didn't do good last night at dinner. Didnt do horrible but nonetheless, not good. Went to Sweet Tomatos where its a buffet. I got a salad which is great but then I got half a brownie, a big bite of pizza, half a slice of toast, small sweet potato and then I couldnt resist and got the vanilla yogurt with granola. I estimate my daily calories around 2000. Which isnt too bad.. Still at maintenance.
@olehcat - AWESOME on your NSV. I love when you feel and SEE pure evidence of your body changing. Thats so exciting! And PS - I am so jealous about your snow. I have NEVER seen snow. But Im super excited; my boyfriend, sister, her husband and I are all going next month for my birthday to Vail, CO!
@Dorian5 - Wow! You have some discipline girl. That means you are eating around 9500 calories a week. Thats a great number to lose on. I just left the counting calories club lol So I dont know if scale wise I will reach goal by St. Patty's day. Maybe inches? HOPEFULLY! And how exciting about the ring. I laughed out loud to your "I should know this stuff" comment. So funny. Are you ready/ excited to get engaged?!
@Alexistrophic - Dont worry about the gain. Dairy does that. Makes you bloat! Im sure it will be down tomorrow morning. And yes, I love toppings on my grains but I actually dont mind eating grains without toppings. I just love my breads :D
Happy Friday eve everyone!
JossFit 02-21-2013 10:43 AM
Dianne - I don't think you did too bad at dinner at all! There were some things in there you probably could have done without but really, look at your portion sizes; you had 1/2 of a brownie, a BITE of pizza, 1/2 a slice of toast. I mean, c'mon, who has HALF of a brownie and a BITE of pizza?! Thats pretty impressive in my opinion! It's actually easier to not have them at all than it is to have little nibbles and stop IMO.
Where do you live that you've never seen snow?!
My husband lives in Colorado (as does my brother and a lot of my husband's family) and I love it there so much! I'm finally moving out there this summer and I can't hardly wait!
Alex - Oooh, yeah, definitely could be the dairy! So many people are lactose intolerant to one degree or another, and it tends to get progressively worse with age. The easy thing to do is cut it out or limit it, but the tricky thing is that having less of it actually forces your body to produce even less lactase to break it down, so when you DO have a bit here and there it's much worse and harder to digest. I suggest you keep experimenting with it and then try taking a lactase pill before you eat some dairy and see if that helps.
Dorian - Gah, you poor thing! I'm sending you all my good vibes in hopes that you can kick this nasty bug.
I'm a big fan of square/emerald/princess cut diamonds as well. My husband actually designed my ring all on his own with ZERO input from me (I didn't even know he was going to propose) and he did SUCH a good job. I'm in love with my ring... totally. Like, given a choice of all the rings in the world I would have picked this one. He went with a princess cut center diamond surrounded by a ring of smaller diamonds, a split shank with diamonds along the splits... all very pretty, blah blah blah, but the kicker is that he had them also add black diamonds in the spaces between the splits. Amazing.
Anyway, it just shows how well he knows me and how much he loves me to have put that much thought and effort into it. I'm sure you'll be totally thrilled with whatever your BF picks out as well! You'd better share pictures when you get it!!
Olehcat - I hope the timing works out with the snow storm for you! I think we're supposed to get some freezing rain/sleet bullcrap tonight or tomorrow. Blech. We had a gorgeous snowfall on Saturday and that I don't mind at all...but the crap that freezes on the roads and effs things up can go away!
Are you feeling any better today? Less funky? :) At least you had a great run!
haha, yeah, I can understand the whole anonymity of the forums and how nice it feels. Obviously I share a lot here, and I don't know how I would feel if people saw it, but I also don't hide it and use photos of myself in my profile. I guess I'm just not under the impression that anyone I know will actually stumble upon 3FC. :)
Bayzee - I hope you're feeling better today. I know how it is to be too busy to take time off (well, not day to day but when I'm deployed/TDY there is no option... you have to push through it all) but I hope that if you don't start feeling better you do take a day to fully rest up! No use in dragging it out into an even longer healing process because you arent' resting.
LOL, dang your hubby and his tape removing! I don't have a mark on the floor, and mine is actually perfectly level, but I do still have a specific tile that I place my scale on each morning. Just a weird habit I suppose!
Krampus - Haha you're going to have to explain to me how the fat man got a hold of your burger in the first place! Did the server just bring it to the wrong person and he didn't mind? :)
What did you end up having for dinner with the roommie's bro there? Chicken fingers and pizza? :D
Well it's Thursday... almost Friday. Not a lot of news here; weight is up a bit which I expected, got my first workout of the day done (Back, bis and abs + 20 minutes on the Jacobs Ladder and 10 minutes on the standing bike). I have to go back this afternoon to knock out the other 30 minutes of cardio, so I think I'll do the stairs, maybe some elliptical? I've been running a lot lately and don't want to do any of that today so that I can 'save my legs' for tomorrow and do a slightly longer run.
I'm STAAAAAARVING! ugh... gimme food! I had a huge calorie burn yesterday and was laying in bed in the wee hours trying to fall back asleep and I couldn't because I was so hungry. Normally I would get up and have a piece of string cheese or something but I can't do that now.
Now I'm staring at the clock willing it to move faster. It's not head-hunger... this is full on stomach-growling body hunger and I'm going to DESTROY my lunch in about 20 minutes.
I emailed my weekly updates to my coach this morning and kicked off my 6th week. This time next week I'll be halfway done! I made sure to ask him about rest days, refeeds/treat meals and all those other little things. Hopefully he addresses some of them, but I also have another phone appointment with him on Monday so I will see what else he has to say then.
Hi Feathers,
I feel BLOATED today and was up 0.6 on the scale, putting me at 124.4 - highest in a while - I think yesterday was a salty day overall. For dinner I had some chicken tortilla soup my BF made, and it was probably pretty salty + there were a lot of beans in it. I didn't eat them all but I definitely felt bloated and farty a good portion of yesterday afternoon/night.
My roommate's brother came over and we sat around playing video games all night which I enjoyed. The dinner issue was solved in that my roommate told him to make his own g.d. dinner since all he eats is junk food and she is generally a healthy eater. He kicked my @ss in Super Mario Bros 3 Battle Mode but we are kind of evenly matched in Street Fighter 2 and TMNT Tournament Fighters (which is kind of the same thing as Street Fighter 2) so that was a good time. Felt bad for my roommate - fighting games are not her strong point.
I went to the gym this morning after a 2/5 star. Pooping too soon before a workout tends to equal really tired workouts, but I did all right today - now that my BF is sick (ughh) our plans for the evening are off so I might go again.
JossFit It's a bar where they put your food on a counter and you go get it. I guess he just COULDN'T WAIT for his own burger or something heh. Hope you had a nice big lunch waiting for you - being hungry sucks!
Dianne Don't be silly, showing any restraint AT ALL at a buffet is much more than most people can say :P 2K is a perfectly respectable calorie count for an active person with a normal thyroid and blahblahblahblah. I don't think about food too much because before lunch it's "not feeding time" and after lunch I'm stuffed...except for days when I am still hungry after a huge lunch of course. I guess I lift heavy by my own standards, I tend to only do 3-4 exercises on lifting days (3-4 days/week) and I try to make it so that I can't perform more than 8 reps of any lift without failing.
Alexis I hope you aren't too big a dairy fan if that's the culprit. It would be great if this means you figured out the cause of all the gas and you can incorporate more variety back into your diet!
Dorian5 Uuuggghhh feel better girl! Engagement photos are a thing up here too - people always do the campiest poses and look ridiculous. This is on some photographer's site in southern Cali - I think it's a nationwide epidemic!
(If I ever get engagement photos it is going to involve a buffet, mark my words)
olehcat Nicely done on the great run and the "accidental" strength gain! I love doing things and thinking "hey this would be HARD WORK if I tried this X years ago!" Sorry your writing group got canceled - my plans fell through too - tonight might be a double gym then music night for me.
Bayzee Stop being sick! like everyone else said hope you start feeling better/take a rest day if you don't. Seems this winter is worse than usual in terms of people getting ill. Why did he move the tape?!
EDIT: My roommate packed me a lunch!!! It's about half the size I typically eat and I'll still be hungry after I finish it but isn't that sweet???
Krampus - Ahhh, so the fat man PURPOSELY snagged your burger! Well that's just rude! LOL I am getting more patient and a lot more forgiving as I get older, but when I was like 18-22ish I was B*TCH on wheels, let me tell ya. I would have made an absolute scene in front of everyone and let it totally ruin my night. Funny how much I have mellowed out. Now I'd do the same as you; say WTF?! get a new burger and laugh about it. :)
I haven't played any video games in the longest time, except Angry Birds on my tablet. :D I used to get down with some Street Fighter and I still love old school games like TMNT, Super Mario Bros, and Guerilla War. I need to find someone with an old school NES!
I DID have a nice big lunch, and it was delish (another chicken and sweet potato salad with balsamic vinegar) but I've just gotten back from completing my second cardio workout for the day and I'm friggin starving again. I hope that it's not going to be like this from here on out, because this is some BULL! hahaha
Lets hope you're able to get back to the gym as well! I'm glad to see your workout was a little better today but I'm still crossing my fingers that you'll get your energy and mojo back soon!
This is totally nerdy but I wanted to share it... my hubby randomly put this on my Facebook page last night;
How cute is that?
I'm going to finish up some crap here at the office, run some errands and then get home to stuff dinner in my face; tilapia with zuchinni, red bell pepper and topped off with some avocado slices. Om nom nom nom...
Dianne ~ Well done for showing restraint at the buffet! I've found that certain forms of dairy make me gain, too, but others are usually fine... (ha- then again, in the past most of the dairy in my diet has been pints of ice cream... bleh) Can't hurt to stay away for awhile...
Joss ~ That otter pic is TOO CUTE (and so appropriate for where you guys are now, yes?) Sweet hubby. Well done. ;-) I did not know that the body produces less lactase if you eat less dairy, but it makes sense. My digestive enzyme does have lactase in it, but only 5 mgs (some supplements have 125mgs +) I'm going to just try to stay away from it for awhile. It's just breaking the mental pattern, I think.
Krampus ~ Despite the fat man stealing your burger, a bar where you pick up your own food sounds pretty darn fun. Pretty darn close to a buffet, which is, of course, how they serve food in heaven. lol about your engagement photos including a buffet. "Buffet of looooove", maybe. ;-)
