Hey ladies! The last three days have been busy busy and the last two days have been full of junk food. :( I made it to the gym yesterday, but ate a bunch of chocolate covered Oreos, I probably had 10 or more and then a bunch of other junk because I was all, "wtf"... UGH.... Then I was planning to get on track this morning, but my boss brought each of us a specialty cupcake from Publix... Mine was red velvet with cream cheese AND butter cream icing... Amazing. Then my co-worker ordered her class pizza today, so I had a slice of that... Then a Poptart, pretzel crisps and random other **** that was totally not worth it.

BUT! Tonight was my work Christmas dinner at Carrabba's (Italian food) and although I didn't order the healthiest menu item (I got a chicken dish with goat cheese and sundried tomatoes), I had only water to drink, didn't eat any of the delicious bread they bring out, I only ate half of my chicken dish, and I got a side of broccoli instead of pasta. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied but no where near stuffed. So while I sucked the rest of the day, I was happy with how dinner went.

Thank God tomorrow is a new day!

JossFit 12-21-2012 08:20 AM

elleohelle - LOL, I like your user name, pun totally intended! ;) Welcome to the Feather's Chat! OMG those silly compression pants are rediculous - my husband got me a pair for Christmas last year and I didn't see what the big deal was, especially not for $100 or more per pair! He loves his though, and that was the only thing he asked for, so I had to make sure and get him another set. They definitely aren't something I would normally buy for myself though.

How long will you be in Vietnam? Eating healthy isn't too hard if you set your mind to it... the problem is setting your mind to it! haha right now I'm battling the 'it's the holidays' mindset, I think we all are!

olehcat - Yeah, and I'm taking my own advice too; had a bunch of goodies yesterday and I'm right back on plan today. :)

I really hope he does like his gifts... I always worry about that and put too much pressure on myself.

Ohtheplaces - For all of your aches about what you ate yesterday, your weigh-in went really well! I am hoping to have the same luck tomorrow in spite of last night's treats. I was 119.6 pounds last week so I've got my fingers crossed for 118 pounds tomorrow. That would be amazing!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well I got my days mixed up so I don't have to do my weekly weight check until TOMORROW, not today... I'm hoping that whatever extra food is in my body from yesterday will be through my system by then. I'm not stressing the actual number too much, so as long as I didn't gain I'll be satisfied. Key word being SATISFIED... LOL, I'll be HAPPY with less. :D

Today I get to go pick the two pair of jeans I dropped off the other day to have fitted, and I'm super excited! I know it's so dorky but I seriously LOVED both of those pair of pants, and I haven't worn them for over a year because they've been too big on me. I donated most of my clothing but for whatever reason I just could NOT get rid of those two. Why it took me so long to take them in I have no idea, but I'm glad I did... and a little nervous too. I hope they did a good job on them!

Oh, and in NOT SO FUN news; the big plans we had for a super indulgent, decadent, glorious Christmas have gone down the toilet. Our friends who were going to be hosting dinner can be a bit flakey, and I think the last 2 or 3 times we have had plans something has 'come up' and they've cancelled. Last night I shot them a quick message to verify that they were still hosting dinner under the guise of 'do you need us to bring anything?' (sneaky, right?) and they said "oh, well we decided not to do a big dinner this year... I have to work the next day and blah blah blah..." so yeah, no dinner.

Now I don't know what to do. My husband doesn't care and he'd be happy as a clam going to the gym and eating a sandwich for dinner. I am totally fine going to the gym but I bought a new dress and I want to do something at least a bit special for dinner! The problem is that I don't have time to prepare a menu before I get there and all the stores will likely be closed on that day. :( So... I guess we'll just play it by ear. If nothing else I'll eat like normal and that still leaves me some room for indulgences on NYE or something.

It's just funny how worried I was about the big party at the ranch and then a huge decadent dinner the next day, and what that would mean in terms of calories... but now we're staying sober on Christmas Eve at the Ranch and we're not doing dinner on Christmas! haha

I'm thinking I *might* be able to run by the store before we go to the ranch and get stuff to make garlic bread and lasagne for dinner on Christmas, maybe a bottle of wine for me. I'm totally open to any suggestions though! If anyone has any good recipes or ideas for an easy dinner or dessert hook me up. I normally wouldn't have any issues but due to the timing, I'm probably going to have to make a list for my husband and have him to to the store ahead of time.

Or... normal 'healthy' dinner and save the calories? Thoughts??

Anyway, today is my last day of work... yay! Hope everyone else enjoys their Friday!

TurboMammoth 12-21-2012 08:51 AM

Heyyy, I'll do personnals later, I am suuuuuper frustrated because I woke up feeling like CRAP this morning. It started yesterday, after I got back from my hairsalon appointment, I just had no energy.. It got worse in the evening, and I was repeting to myself that it was probably because I had to wake up early for the first time foreveeeeer. But still feel weird today, I'm sniffing a bit and my body is just so HEAVY.

I wanted to bake my last batch of Christmas cookies, and there is no way I'm gonna go see my newborn goddaughter feeling sick :(

BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Bayzee 12-21-2012 09:18 AM

Ok...I'm feeling like crap too. Energy is low and my stomach is off. I feel very dehydrated too. Last day of work today..yay!

I was less than perfect yesterday as well. I weighed in at 114.4 today but I wasn't over my calories even with a couple of treats. I had to get my hair done so I ate a quick sandwich from the deli afterwards. I had a corned beef or rye. I only ate 1 piece of bread. I also had 2 peanut butter balls. One homemade at work and then I decided last night that I could whip some up because I had a craving for them again. I modified my coworkers recipe to make them healthier, but they are DANGEROUS to have in the house. Thursdays are my day off for workouts, so I didn't workout. But I wish I had. Sometimes it's hard to take a break.

Joss...Here's an idea we do when we travel and don't want to put out our relatives. We call a restaurant and we order a meal. We have places that have turkey or roasted chicken meals that they will pack up. But we also have restaurants or catering type restaurants that will do lasagnas. salads buns and the whole works. You can pick it up on Monday in the early afternoon (most places are open Monday with limited hours).

The peanut butter balls are easy to do:

1 cup of natural peanut butter
1/2 cup of icing sugar (I didn't use it though)
1 cup of shredded coconut

1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate) melted

Mix together...make balls...put in the freezer for 20-30 mins.
Roll in the melted chocolate. Add a bit of boiling water to the chocolate if it gets too thick.

Or check out ww.skinnytaste.com for her mini pumpkin cheesecake recipe

krampus 12-21-2012 11:35 AM

HI FEATHERS, I was out sick yesterday with chills/fever and aches and pains (but spent all day shopping and doing stuff around the house). Today I feel like $1 million - I am a miracle of science. I ate a bunch of random crap after dinner so weight was up 0.8 but I felt well enough and hit the gym before work, which has become rare in the cold months.

I came into work today and realized I had left the coffee pot on and then someone down the hall swung by and gave me sh!t about it, which would have been fine normally but I'm short-fused and pre-coffee - DON'T FCUKING TALK TO ME BEFORE I HAVE COFFEE OR I'LL BITE YOUR HEAD OFF GOSHDAMMIT, etc. At least I have a week off and I already cleaned it out/turned it off so if the building burns down it won't be my fault.

Tomorrow night is my Sweet Sixteen (er, 26) party. We put up more Christmas stuff all over our apartment and it looks absurd - two small trees, the big white tree, I wrapped all my gifts and put them under the tree and it looks awesome. Our friend Mike from Chicago is visiting for the weekend and it's going to be a festival of eating - Mike is the friend with whom I deep fried cheeseburgers and double-beer-battered two kinds of french fries. My roommate is cooking a smorgasbord including her incredible beet/eggplant salad and something involving fluff. I can't wait to use my LivingSocial coupon for brunch at this place: City Beer Hall Brunch Menu

Hope everyone starts feeling better soon and enjoys themselves over Christmas!

Bayzee Those peanut butter balls sound delicious. I'm sorry you're not feeling very well today - at least you don't have to work next week and have a vacation coming up, you can rest!

TurboMammoth NOOOOOOOOOOOO don't get sick! Good call on not seeing the newborn goddaughter - I have no morals and went to the mall all shaky and feverish yesterday anyway, but gave some pennies to a cashier who was low on pennies so maybe that balances out? Take lots of vitamin C and rest and sleep!

JossFit I get people being unable to commit to everything they planned, but flaking out last minute on a Christmas feast seems almost inconsiderate! Oh well. You'll figure out something fun to do - maybe you guys could do a fancy healthyish dinner (filet mignon with endives? make your own sushi? ahi tuna steaks?) or split a bottle of fancy wine? I hope your beloved pants turn out perfectly and fit better than ever!

OhThePlaces Carabba's is probably one of the most unhealthy restaurants in existence - glad you didn't overdo it there. Oreos and junk and stuff happen, I definitely OD-ed on cookies last night and ordered a side of pasta salad at the bar for no reason (wasn't hungry) - this won't be a hindrance to your progress!

olehcat I hope you are feeling more positive about things than you were the day-after-gumbo. It is hard to fit in gym visits and the like when you're being inundated with toffee and sickness and weather, but you have the power! You can do jumping jacks, Youtube exercise videos, pushups, situps, planks, squats, all kinds of stuff at home. I used to do a Billy Blanks tae bo video like, five times a week for weeks on end!

elleohelle OH HAY how did the enkai go? I'm glad I convinced you that you are a featherweight.

LeilaJey HUGS to you, hope the tough stuff gets easier soon. <3

Alexistrophic Mmmm indoor pool. Enjoy your trip! Don't get tooooo seduced by all the fried food and sweet tea ;)

mottainai Ohhh man binge eating in Japan is hard because nothing is big enough - when I was having issues with binge eating there there were a LOT of wrappers once I was done. Even delivery pizza wasn't big enough to defeat the beast. I'm very glad I haven't been dealing with it in the USA, it would be FAR too easy.

OhThePlaces 12-21-2012 07:24 PM

JossFit, I know! I was really expecting to see 132+ on the scale this morning after the last two days of terrible eating (I even felt swollen and full of water weight this morning when I woke up) so I was pretty shocked to see 129! I'm half expecting to see it catch up to me tomorrow though.

Let us know how the jeans turned out! Sorry to hear about your flakey friends canceling dinner, but at least you'll have more wiggle-room for NYE. If it were me, I'd probably just do a normal healthy dinner and save the calories... BUT I'm totally a calorie hoarder. Haha

Turbo and Bayzee, oh no! I hope you both feel better soon!

Bayzee, I l-o-v-e the skinnytaste website, even though I've never actually made any of her recipes.

Krampus, I'm glad you recovered quickly after your sick day. BOO to the co-worker who gave you **** about the coffee pot, especially before caffiene was pumping through your system! Enjoy your week off and your birthday party! I've never had a birthday party since probably 1st grade... I'm missing out! Maybe I can have a sweet 29 next year? Haha

Today I hit the gym hard to relieve some of my guilt about the last couple of days of food debauchery. I did a brisk 30 minutes (walking, 4.2 mph) on the treadmill, then 70 minutes on the elliptical and abs. Then my husband and I took the kids to the mall to see Santa this afternoon. Talk about **** on earth. We get in the (long) line, then about 10 minutes later they let everyone know that Santa is going on a 1 hour break to "feed his reindeer", so I sent my husband off with the kids to get something to eat while I stood in line and held our spot. When we finally got in to see him, my almost 2 year old daughter (who was so excited while in line) freaked out crying and tried to run away. So I ended up having to sit with Santa to keep her from calm and happy. My son LOVED Santa this year though, so it was totally worth it.

This was the final product... Ezra on the left, Ruby on the right. :)

Hi, all!

OhthePlaces - GREAT pic of you all! :)

Krampus - HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow! omg, I'm terrified about leaving anything on like that at work. We have an illicit microwave that we're not at all supposed to have so we have to put it away every day, and I live in terror of being the one who forgets to unplug it and put it away and then we get dinged by the fire department...

@jossfit - May your weigh-in be spectacular tomorrow! :) And that would be disappointing, the Christmas dinner thing! I really hate it when people flake out on plans.

I have a similar story only mine involves a $600 plane ticket. I was supposed to go to Seattle for New Year's with a few friends, but the host backed out and now it's all canceled. It's not the end of the world. I'm out about $100 (airline change fee), but it's more that I was REALLY looking forward to a vacation and now it's not going to happen and I'm stuck by myself on New Year's Eve, blah.

So in other news, I'll be taking a media break to focus on some things I need to get done and seeing family and getting stuff done, so I will not be on this thread for a few days or a week -- I hope you all have a WONDERFUL holidays!!!! It's really been a joy discovering this thread -- you all are awesome.

Bayzee 12-21-2012 09:24 PM

Just a quick drive-by. I felt better in the afternoon but my energy is still low. I didn't poop today so I think that's why my stomach is off. Not sure though...no fever or anything so far.

Didn't eat all that great today, but nothing I can do about it now. I also missed my workout :(

Let's just say the wine is extra good tonight! Cheers!

JossFit 12-21-2012 10:42 PM

I decided in light of our cancelled plans, I'm NOT going to indulge while in Colorado and am doing it tonight instead! Hot cocoa and whiskey for everyone... yay!

(Yes, I'm a drunken feather)

Oh, totally not weighing in tomorrow. :)

Bayzee 12-22-2012 07:55 AM

Joss...do weigh-in! 4 drinks for me last night...113.4 today! I know it's dehydration, but I like my Saturday weigh-ins! Lol! I know NOT to weigh in on Sunday though...all that water weight catches up! Lol!

OhThePlaces 12-22-2012 08:03 AM

Too funny! Enjoy your drunken feather nights, ladies. ;)

Krampus, happy birthday!!

olehcat, I would be really pissed and sad that your friend cancelled plans after your plane tickets were purchased! Enjoy your media break and have a merry Christmas!

We're getting ready to head out of town tomorrow morning for 5 days in my hometown. I'm nervous because my dad is preparing a feast on Christmas and we're going to a chinese buffet on Christmas Eve. I just made it into the 120s and would like to stay here! Haha

I didn't just have some wine though... I had LOTS of drinks, pizza, ice cream, chips and cheese dip, chocolates... I'm bloated up today! hahaha

Today is also a rest day for me, and I'm hungover as heck. I actually am glad I sort of 'got it out of my system' because I think I'll be less tempted to overdo it when I see my husband. I'd rather have a good time and feel fit and sexy when I'm with him.

Now, the hard part is getting back on track today. Ugh, all I want to do is just eat bread, cereal, and any other carb I can get my hands on!

Bayzee 12-22-2012 12:47 PM

[QUOTE][Now, the hard part is getting back on track today. Ugh, all I want to do is just eat bread, cereal, and any other carb I can get my hands on! /QUOTE]

McDonald's french fries...my hangover cure! LOL! I'm dying for some carbs too!

JossFit 12-22-2012 05:58 PM

I'll probably just be doing quick check ins for the next few days due to traveling and the holidays (I'm sure it's the same for you guys too!) but I seem to have gotten into the Holiday spirit alright... can you say Chocolate spoon cake and muddy buddies?! haha

Ironically tomorrow I plan to be back in the gym after my rest day today and back on as clean of a diet as I can muster. Most people will be indulging over Christmas Eve and Christmas and I'll be trying not to!

elleohelle 12-22-2012 08:15 PM

OhThePlaces I love your son's curly hair! Your daughter looks happy in the picture :) I am sorry Christmas Santa was annoying. Malls around the xmas season can be so EEP.

olehcat I know the feeling of being stuck on your own over New Years. It's no fun. Some good movies or a solo dance party in your underwear?

Krampus Sorry to hear you were sick. I hope you feel GREAT on your bday.

I am doing ok. I binged a bit on some cookies, so I guess I am eating 4 hard boiled eggs during the rest of the day. Feeling a bit lonely in South Korea and my social anxiety issues along with body dysmorphia are creeping up again. BAHHH.
