Dang it! I succumbed to the chees its again. Why do I let my kids pick them off the shelf? Ugh. This time it was Halloween individual bags. Just ate two and really...really...want ot eat like five more. :-( I'm nibbling very slowly one piece of dark chocolate, which is helping. :-( I finally picked up my kids cough, ugh, and so I'm not going to push myself to workout today.

Hey everyone - wow this has moved so quickly! I feel overwhelmed theres no way I can catch up! I'll try but I will miss a lot of you.

So I've come down with a terrible flu, I'll need to be at home in bed the next few days - I've been so stressed out that I think it was inevitable but at least I'll be able to catch up on some readings.

-------------
ChickieChicks - Individual sized portions never do me any good, I always eat too much anyways. Sorry you're sick!

Turbo - Sorry about you're foot, I know what a pain that can be. When I had to have knee surgery the 3rd time I put off going to see my surgeon for ever because I didn't want to me told no more exercising.

Jessica - Happy belated birthday!!

Krampus - I love epic salad! Ps..very late on this one but that was a beautiful wedding, thats how I imagine mine being :P

Leila - Ha, my ex was very slight and I was constantly fighting to keep my weight below his. By the way - I see your past your goal! Were you thinking of switching to maintenance calories soon?

Kakers - Cysts suck, but I'm glad you're is starting to get better. Maybe it has something to do with all the gymnastics? I find when I was cycling a lot in the summer I got cysts - I get them quite often they are so painful.

Joss - You've sold me - I'm trying those noodles!

Maymazar - I'm kind of in the same spot as you, i've been around 135-140 for years and my body loves this spot, it's my set point. I really would like to be about 10 lbs less though so I'm also trying to finally get there. Yeah when I've been ever at a low weight I generally get the "you look sick, are you OK" comments but I see how awesome people on here can look at low weights and it motivates me.

Lisa Aww that sucks! I hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself and catch up on your reading. Stress is no good, I think that's why I've kind of come down with something too. Bleh!

Chickie Giving yourself a day to rest is the best medicine. I'm not sure I know those exact crackers but I've had my fair share of run ins with cheesey crackers. No good. I don't know how anybody could have just one pack of anything like that! Is there anywhere else you can keep them? My friends kids hide the Nutella on her because she's a "chocolate monster" and it seems to work haha
Also maybe you should have some kinky sex icebox cookies, I've heard that they burn calories :P feel better!

krampus yummy looking salad! I always have a hard time getting out of bed.. I'm really not a morning person at all. It's often raining/grey here though so it's especially uninspiring. If it's sunny I do hop out a bit faster.. and by hop I mean roll off the bed and stumble like a drunk to the bathroom. Close enough!
Physically? He's quite small framed and we're the same height but he doesn't have any fat on him so even though we weigh about the same now we look drastically different. I'd normally have gone for bigger guys but hey, these things work out.

What songs are you playing for this concert? I haven't played much music in a while. You've inspired me to grab my whistle and annoy my cat.

Turbo I think I'm finally ready to move into October over here.. so this is October 1st if anyone asks. I live in denial.

hahah! I laughed so much at them asking if you had kids. Me and my friend used to buy each other Lego for our birthdays and I had them on display too. Good times.

rawr you cougar! Good luck with physio, hope it went well!!

kakers aha! don't start with the Monopoly!! I've never heard of that, but I've only eaten in McDonalds a couple of times. Maybe they don't do it over here anyway. Ahh free stuff. You don't eat vegetables?? Any vegetables?

Joss I looked him up, the boudoir stuff looks great!
Yeah I've been craving cake too, like crazy. I was going to buy myself an entire cake on Sunday and then didn't and bought Ben & Jerrys and lots of chips instead. Way worse. It does get easier though. Today I woke up and don't want to eat everything, and I am delighted. Not completely craving free but nothing I can't manage. Hope yours are easing off too. You're completely right too, well said. It's just that some days it just seems unmanageable.

------------------------------------------------------------

Yay for not wanting to eat everything today. Well not as much as the past week anyway, phew. 137.6 today which ain't too bad. Still no TOM just horrible cramps, grr. Feeling a lot better today, still wrecked but managed to do some exercise and some other stuff.

Right gotta do some work and make some burgerrrrs yeaahhhhhh

Maymarza - It's not necessarily that your goal weight is a 'stretch' but you just may find that what you think you want in terms of scale weight is not as important as how your clothing fits and how you like what you see in the mirror.

Chickie - Well $hit, if I didn't ALREADY want the cookies bad enough, you had to go and call them 'kinky icebox sex cookies'! Dangit! LOL you know my hubby lives in another state so I can't even substitute one for the other! haha
Oh the Cheeze Itz strike again! They say that a lot of time just knowing something is there makes it hard to resist, and that certainly seems to be the case with the Cheeze Itz today. I think a couple little baggies is just fine, it's just making sure that you DON'T eat those other 5 that you want. Hmm, I haven't had those particular crackers in probably... 15 years? Not since I was a kid or something. I do remember the white cheddar ones being insanely delicious.
I'm having a simliar issue today, and I am doing it to myself! I went to a briefing this morning, and at that briefing they had a table set up in the back with boxes upon boxes of FREE Girlscout cookies. WTF?! I normally would have turned the other cheek, but I actually figured that I can bring them along to the baby shower I am going to on Saturday (because who doesn't like them, right?) so I grabbed a box of Thin Mints and a box of Thank Yous (Like shortbread with fudge on the bottom I guess). Ugh, that was dumb of me. I should have grabbed two flavors I didn't want to demolish. Now they are sitting in my car mocking me and I don't want to have to wait til Saturday to eat some! *Saturday is my planned 'off day' and then back on the wagon until Thanksgiving... it's going to be a long stretch but I can do it!
Anyway... all rambling aside... I feel ya.

Kakers - I hope things are feeling better today... that sounds really painful!

Turbo - How did it go?! I hope it was good news... I am actually waiting to call and schedule my CT scan on my foot so *hopefully* it will be fast and I won't have to wait like 90 million days for my appointment. Anyway, I'm thinkin about you and hoping everything goes okay at your appointment and that you have a good visit with your brother!

Krampus - I love it when other people post their homemade food porn. Makes me feel less like a weirdo! haha
My husband actually texted me a picture of his breakfast the other morning, which I thought was adorable. He made a big veggie/egg scramble and some english muffins with jam. He titled the picture "Man Food"... LOL, yes Dear, whatever you say.

Yeah, that one story was probably the most involved gym creeper I've ever had, but there have been others. I had one guy hit me up on Instant Messenger and was telling me he saw me in the gym and then in the Dining Facility, where he was able to see my last name on my uniform, THEN go through the Global listing looking for females in the Air Force with my last name and rank. wow. On top of that he wouldn't tell me who he was, so every time I was in the gym after that or in the Dining Facility I was wondering which dude in there was the chat creeper. Nice huh?

I WISH I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning... the past couple of days I've been waking up between 0230-0330 and not being able to get back to sleep. Suckage!

Lisa - Ugh, the FLU?! Yikes, I'm so sorry... I hope you aren't miserable. Get well soon and get a good book and some movies to help pass the time. Then, when you get back on your feet, go get some shiritake noodles! hahaha

Leila - Oh good, I'm glad things are getting easier for you! I think just knowing that Saturday will be an off day for me is making mine worse. Blah.
Hopefully it continues to get better for you though... I'm just going to hang in there, enjoy Saturday and then put my dang nose to the grindstone, especially considering that if my foot turns out to be a bone issue I may have to have surgery, in which case a clean and controlled diet is going to be super important!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My hubby gets here the day after tomorrow! I'm super excited to see him because this will be the first time he's been here at my place in about a year. Usually he and I meet up somewhere or I go see him in Colorado. I'm looking forward to cooking us nummy meals and sleeping in MY bed (his sucks!). Plus, he's bringing my ring back from the jewelers and my finger has been missing it terribly!

Physiotherapist update!

So the really nice guy think it was a stress of the cuboid bone. The fact that I was running the whole race on the outside side of the pathway, a bit inclined, probably stressed the h*ll out of the foot. I also seem to have some malformation on the side of the foot but I think it always was there.

He wants me to keep up running with program starting from nothing but where I will be able to increase everything up quickly if I feel fine (like tomorrow, I'm supposed to walk 5 + run 1'/walk 1' 3 times + walk 5. That is gonna be like... 1.something kilometer..! I guess I need to do the right stuff to heal.

Also, totally akward, I think I was in a mix of 1.didnot eat my lunch so maybe hypoglycemia + I don't like people playing with my bones + I was super stressed about this and sometimes when I super stress my blood pressure get very low = I borderline fainted. Twice. Proud girl here (DAYAAAAMM I was so embarassed!)

He told me he has nothing against me going hiking this weekend if my 2 runs are fine tomorrow and the day after, and I'm seeing him again next week.

I LOVED the guy, he is a physiotherapist specialized in running so it wasn't ''completely stop working out until you're ok'' but ''We want you to keep running, because if I'm telling you top stop, you won't anyways.'' Keeping it real, bro!

Yay, thats good news Turbo! I actually just made an appointment and they were able to get me in tomorrow night for a CT Scan. Meh, I'm not excited about having to come back to base to do that at 7:30 pm (LOL I usually go to bed at 8) but it's better than waiting weeks or months.

I had to write this all in a Word doc and copy and paste LOL...

Turbo- Ohhh hockey… I had a college roommate whose dad worked for the Hartford Wolfpack, the feeder team for the NY Rangers. She was a big fan… groupie style. Chai lattes are definitely one of my weaknesses… I have found though that I can get a chai tea bag and make it with stevia and non dairy creamer… it doesn’t taste quite the same, but it’s still good. I’m glad you got checked out! And definitely good news that you can keep running, at least a bit.

Krampus – that salad is definitely epic. And nope, no veggies, with the rare exception of small amounts of spinach on pizza or in crescent roll hors d’ ourves and sometimes a bite or two of a green or red pepper. I actually like carrots, but I gag on them unless I over chew them. I have major food issues.

Chickie – I only barely made it out of walmart last night without the cheese-its/crispix make your own snack mix bucket. Pretty sure that the3 bags of Halloween candy made up for that though :/ I hope your cough goes away soon, and in the mean time, it can be a good ab workout!

LisaT- Oh no the flu! I hope you feel better soon! And yes, I do think the cyst is from gymnastics, from sweating plus the leotards I have being slightly tight.

Leila- yeah the Monopoly game is so unfair LOL and no, no veggies with very few exceptions. See my reply to krampus Oh, and I will eat tomatos ONLY in tomato sauce and only on pizza, as long as there’s not too much of it or I’ll scrape the extra off. I typically don’t eat sauces, period, either.

Joss- That is so great that your husband is coming! I can’t imagine not living with my husband for an extended period of time (except of course deployment) And I’m glad they are able to get you in for a CT scan!

___________________________

Besides being up a couple pounds today (wtf??) I am doing good today. The cyst is still THERE but it isn’t irritated, so that is good. I am still going without a leotard for gymnastics tonight but at least I can walk and move normally, so I can still throw my skills, I may just avoid the low bar today. Or maybe I'll work on vault instead of bars for a change!

Kakers - Have you tried warm compresses and/or taking a warm bath with episome salts? I found those helped me get rid of mine. Also my doc told be to make sure I exfoliate really well after I get home from working out to clean the skin (as a preventative measure).

Joss - Yay for your husband coming to see you!! Thats so exciting, my boyfriend is away about 50% of the time so I kinda of understand how tough it is.

Turbo - So glad you saw a good physiotherapist and can keep running, it really helps to talk to someone who know what they're doing.

Leila - Glad you're feeling better eating wise! I hope you're not too stressed out and can avoid getting sick too.

-----
I haven't done much today except mope around and do a little bit of work - I always feel guilty when I'm sick for not being productive but I think I needed a rest day.

JOss- okay seriously...who gives away FREE Girl Scout cookies? that's crazy! (crazy awesome, but I'm trying to be supportive. Lol) stupid cheeze itz. I did eat another small bag this afternoon. I think I needed to fulfill a major salt craving. Today just sucked donkey balls. My hubby is usually Mr. wonderful, almost to a fault. But today was just crappy, and even though I felt awful, I still ended up doing everything anyway. He took or youngest to soccer practice, but I am just feeling crabby and resentful that I couldn't take a day off from mommy duty. It was easier when the oys were small, ironically. He is very hands on, and I could easily hand over babies and know he would be fine. But now the boys have so much going on, and since I coordinate everything, plus everything at the house and bills, it is very difficult to hand over the reigns without writing lists and panicking. Ugh. I am so, so happy that your husband will be there soon!!!

Turbo- I love docs like that! The ones who actually listen, and know your situation well enough to put together a real plan...one that you will actually follow. I think it's awesome that you can still run, albeit mor slowly at first. It's critical to maintain your emotional state, and obviously that includes running and hiking! I wish my doctors were more on board with that. (eye roll) lol about the Legos and tea cups. A lot of that stuff slowly got faded out o ER the years, mostly due to military moves and just really decluttering. But now our kids are at an excellent age where their toys and games are rather entertaining, and it's fun to shop because I pick a lot of stuff based upon what hubby and I would like, too.

Lisa- exactly! When I'm sick, I feel this awkward guilt. Ugh! I had to seriously talk myself down off of the Zumba ledge today. I could barely breath fully, and yet all I wanted to do (and had landed for) was to make the 1pm class. My husband talked me out of it. Lol hope you feel better soon!

Leila- lol sounds like we have the same sense of humor. Scandalous. I'm glad your Ben and Jerry's monster was quelled today. Whenever I eat junk, I always want super healthy stuff the next day. I guess that's how it evens out for me, because I sure haven't been doing that great with my snack choices. Did your cat enjoy the whistling? Lolol

Joss- Free girl scout cookies! I could never resist. Are they locked in your trunk? On a total tanget if Girl Scout cookies reach $5 a box or $6 a box will people still pay for them? It seems to me that these cookies are like gas-no matter the price people pay. We complain about how expensive it is but I'll stick fork over the cash for my Thin Mints. Right now we have the boy scouts and their popcorn. I feel bad walking by, but it's not that good. I think the military must have an in with getting free scout stuff because last year I got free popcorn from Outdoor Rec on base. Interesting...
On a real note- I am so happy that your hubby is visiting and you'll have your ring

Turbo- glad the appointment went well. Sounds like a good doctor and a good plan. Glad you can keep running and hiking.

Chickie- Cheez Its are so addicting. It is definitely the salt. My roommate buys the giant Costco size bag which is so not good for my self control. The mini packs never do anything for me...I'll just eat a lot of packs Sorry your day was sucky. I can't imagine being a mom. I can barely organize my own life.

Lisa- sometimes rest is the best. If you are not feeling it's OK. No need to feel guilty.

Kakers- Glad you are feeling a little better for gymnastics. The no veggie thing amazes me.

Leila- TOM is always awful. I'm experiencing it right now. I too haven't been super hungry in the past few days. I hate to mention the month that preceded this one, but I think over eating for a month has made not so hungry in Oct.

I'm joining the group going to the doctor. For the past six weeks I have had pain up and down my legs. I got a shooting pain-like a really bad Charlie horse one day and it hasn't recovered. At first, everybody was like "you have a blood clot run to the ER". I webmd'd it and didn't seem likely. Anyway, the pain fluctuates from mild to severe to the point where when I work out I can barely move. Zumba today was pathetic. So when I went to see my doctor about insomnia I casually mentioned this pain. He felt my leg and said "Yup definitely feel something, but I don't know what it is." Not likely a blood clot, but he really doesn't know.So I am having an ultrasound done tomorrow afternoon. I have no idea what to expect but here is the really weird part. I'm not that worried about what it is. I am more worried that if I can't work out for a period of time- I'm afraid I'll gain weight. I know all I would have to do is adopt a super amazing diet, but I worry I'll be hungry and cranky. It seems messed up to me. I should be worried about the pain in my leg and the fact that I can barely walk sometimes.

maymarza I think a lot of people get used to seeing you at a certain weight, and so it's hard for them to see you going into the lower ranges of a healthy BMI. Personally, I would only take those you look sick type comments from someone who wasn't comparing me to what I used to be. I get told all the time to stop losing weight, but I definitely don't look sickly or anything.

kakers I used to be really adverse to eating veggies. If you want to try to improve on that in general, you might find if you switch to clean eating for a while, your tastes will adjust. I still could use some work, because the only veggies I'll really eat uncooked is celery with almond butter or salad, and usually my salads consist only of lettuce. But I have branched out into eating a number of cooked veggies, and normally throw some in my eggs in the morning, and always make sure to have some for dinner. A lot of the time I have leftovers for lunch too, so eating veggies 3 times a day is far better than what I was doing before (and I do eat a few servings of fruit a day, so I figure I'm getting the recommended intake). I did do okay eating some raw veggies after my daughter's birthday party, because I had lots leftover, and had leftover dip, which made it much easier for me to handle them. It's pretty easy to make a healthy dip that you can feel good about eating, even if you have to load the veggies with dip. I made a dill dip with greek yogurt. I'd like to make a point of keeping a container of dip ready in the fridge, but haven't gotten around to it because I haven't found greek yogurt on sale lately (and even when it is on sale, it is much more expensive than the other yogurt).

Turbo Great to hear that you can still do your running, even though not as much as you would like. I can understand you are worried about losing endurance / performance, but I'm sure that even if you do lose some, it's probably much easier to build back up than it was to get there the first time around.

krampus Lol, well I feel like I half *** both the weight training and the running, and you seem to do better to embrace it than I do, so maybe my perception is a little skewed. Still, I don't think you've been running as long as Turbo, or weight training as long as Joss, so maybe in another year you'll be a total bad a$$ like both those ladies

Lisa Hope you are feeling better today

Leila So I finally got around to measuring myself again. When I measured myself and looked in the mirror, it looked to be around 5' 4". When I asked my husband, he couldn't decide between 5' 4" and 5' 5" and said 5' 4.5". But he didn't seem too confident, so I guess I'm probably 5' 4".

Joss I bet your very excited to see your husband again! And how are you doing resisting those cookies? I couldn't pass down something that was free, but I could probably get away with stashing it in the pantry for my husband and daughter. We have tons of junk in our house, and most days I do okay avoiding it. It's when I have a day where I know I won't be eating on plan anyhow that I go and sample some of everything that I know is lying around the house.

Chickie It is hard being the one knowing everything that is going on, isn't it? Sometimes I wonder how well my husband would be able to fair without me around. I hope you are feeling better today, and if not, hopefully you have a less hectic schedule and can manage some rest today.

fresh Oh, that scout popcorn is really overpriced. Compared to that, the girl guide cookies are a bargain!

Exfoliating is a good idea. I did do warm compresses the other day, they didn't seem to stay warm enough for long enough, so I took a bath. I don't have epsom salts, but that is another good idea. And you definitely needed the rest day! You have to make sure you keep your body healthy

Honestly, I have no interest in eating veggies. I get that they are good for you and everyone should eat them, but I'm 30 and I'm to the point where I decided it's just not worth it. I'm on the autism spectrum so I have a lot of food issues between taste and texture and if it's a food I don't like, trust that I would likely starve to death before eating it (unless I had a Rolo to follow every bite.) The few veggies I do eat I only eat raw, except spinach snuck into cooked things here and there, and I don't eat dressings, sauces, or dips, so there's really nothing to make them any better for my palate. I'm not so concerned about eating healthy food, at this point. If fact the times I have started eating healthier (vs eating fast food almost every day) I have actually gained weight. I weigh the least when I eat fast food every day, as long as I eat small snacks the rest of the day and one big meal.
My body is very strange.

Except for being up a pound yesterday it was a good day! I had a great workout at gymnastics, got my flyspring on the rod floor *consistent* (I am SO SHOCKED I expected it to take a couple weeks!!) and was sweating up a storm. It was marvelous. I did great on beam too. My tuck jumps fly.
And I only went 20 calories over my daily goal! So I was definitely in a deficit after the great workout.

But, then I woke up at 155 again today. My body, it hates me. Time to trim a few more calories and add some workouts even if they are short. I was planning to over the weekend till Friend of Fred showed up (Fred was the sebaceous cyst I had 2 years ago, my coworkers named it. Well, I had it for years but 2 years ago is when it got inflamed) anyways I'm having to be careful what I am wearing but otherwise for the most part it is looking like it is getting smaller! So it is time to add that exercise.

Quick quick personnals!

krampus : Kickass salad!! You're not the only one having hard time getting up, it's been grey sky for DAYS, I get up late every single morning!

Chickie : Oh god Halloween individual bags! I think we'll just go out that night so we don,t have to get some, I LOVE giving them away to kids but if there is any left after that I am GAME OVER LOL

Lisa : Oh, poor you! Are you getting any better? Get some rest and get well!

Leila : LOL about Legos! We had a party at home with people from the bf lab and there was a kid who begged to play with one of the spaceship... The bf ended up saying yes and I was sure that he was going to cry when the kid broke a wing!

Joss : Any news from your appointment? Did you got the CT? Enjoy your time with your hubby!

Kakers : Cool for the feeder team of the Rangers! My boyfriend is a FREAK about his team hehe. He turned me into a groupie too I think! Is your cyst getting better?

fresh : Did you got to see the doctor? Hope everything will get better for you!

Jessica : Thanx for the nice words about the cardio stuff. All of this is just so overwhelming. When is your race? I can't remember!

This week is just never endiiiiiiiiing.

I went to see my bro last night and he picked the restaurent.. He picked a sport pub stuff and I have fries. They were gooood. I'm up to 136 today but I know it's all about the salty sauce and everything. I'm such in a rush I don,t have much time to think about it anyway LOL

I ran my 3 minutes run with walking time this morning (god it was boring) and it was okay. I was feeling something in my foot in the 3rd minutes but nothing to make me stop. I was okay 30 minutes after the run and that's what the therapist wanted me to look at. I have to go back tomorrow and run 4x1 minues. WOOOAH! FOOOOUR!

My friend is coming down from Montreal tomorrow so we can live at 5AM saturday morning for the NH and Adams Moutain. So so so looking forward to it! (not looking forward to cleaning the house in a panic tonight thoug. Hehe)

Hope you are having a nice day where you are feathers, here it is foggy as ***!
