130.9lbs. I just wanna not eat untill I am below 130 now. Obviously I wont. I don't have that kind of willpower and I'm a health freak. But still! SO CLOSE!

Hi everyone, I'm new here and still looking reading around trying to figure out my way here. My goal is to reach 129.4. Right now I'm at 136.4 so that's 6.6lbs left to loose but my main goal is to lower my body fat percentage which is still quite high at 27% in July. Will get measured tomorrow for my body fat so I'm quite nervous

ChickieChicks: I admire your ability to get projects done around the house. My husband and I have a long list of half done things

TurboMammoth: Good for you on getting the salad. If I don't have time to cook, I normally resort to things like fruit, or cottage cheese, or whatever I'd normally use for snacks. I guess that's better than eating out (which we rarely did before I started losing weight anyways), but I probably should try to have real meals when I'm busy, as it probably makes my calorie count a bit low on those days (doesn't happen too often though).

Still, I can sympathize with you not liking the idea of going to McDonalds, even if you did get something healthy. We tend to avoid fast food completely, and I'm proud to say that my almost 3 year old has never had a fast food kids meal (though a small part of me feels bad that she's never had the experience of getting a toy with a meal).

JossFit: I am enjoying all of your food pictures! One thing that I really love about this whole weight loss journey is that I've been experimenting more with recipes, and get to try lots of new things. I always have a list of things in my head that I'd like to try, and it usually takes me a while to get around to it, as I plan around what veggies, meat, etc is on sale. Plus my husband isn't really on board, so I end up making alternate side dishes, etc for him, which is sometimes a pain.

-----------------------

I talked to my husband about taking over bedtime duties 3 days a week so that I can get out and run. We are going to do Mon, Wed & Fri. I still haven't actually made it out the door to run yet though. I was going to start on Wednesday, but my husband decided last minute he was going to go see a friend, and swapped Wednesday for yesterday. I'll probably start next week. I'm going to talk to my dad about the run on Sunday, so if he's on board, that will definitely motivate me to get my *** in gear.

Since my husband was on toddler duty last night, and rain was forecasted, I went to the mall and bought a whole new wardrobe. Everything I bought was on sale or clearance priced, but I still feel bad dishing out that kind of money. I am very frugal, and tend to avoid malls at all costs, and don't often buy new clothes. But I hadn't bought any clothes since losing weight, and was getting by on what small clothes I had left in my wardrobe, though I had gotten rid of all the stuff from when I was really small, so everything was probably 3 sizes too big. Anyhow, I had fully intended on only buying shirts, figuring that my pant size would change in the last 10 pounds, but trying on clothes that fit felt so good that I bought 4 pairs of pants too... I just bought them a size smaller than I would have if I were at goal right now. They are still pretty comfortable, but I am looking slightly muffin toppy, which I'll cope with until I get the last few pounds off.

My weight has been dropping like crazy this past week. Sunday morning after my binge I was up to 140, but the water weight kept dropping off by at least a pound a day, and today I'm at 133.7, which is actually 2.5 lbs lighter than my low weigh in from pre-binge. I'm finding at these lower weights that I hold on to my weight longer.. usually staying stead for a couple weeks, and then drop a large amount at once. It's a bit weird, since before I was pretty much dropping 2 lbs / week like clockwork.

Chickie : your projects sounds fun! Plus it's an excellent way to keep yourself occupied and stay away from the food! I was wondering, how old are your kids? Are they going to school yet?

Crazygurl : aww new scale throw back never fun. You can do this xxx

Jossfit : OMG, your hubby almost lost an arm!? good lord, make this man sit down and heal his arm! Oh, I knoooow about all the bad stuff McDo put in their chicken and everything... Like seriously, there is only McDo to transform simple chicken breasts in totally unnatural and full of chemicals stuff LOL I ended up eating an homemade turkey breast/hummus/veggies wrap with a salad, grapes and a cup of wholewheat Cheerios (I was feeling for something crunchy LOL)

I laughed so hard at the picture your posted of Napoleon Dynamite. I definetely need someone who master the art of Nunchuck. My perfect man is probably a Ninja Turtles LOL

AlexisTrophic : I'm glad for you you're enjoying your new work!

Ion : 1300 is still a bit low. Hope everything will work out for you!

philana : Omg, when I red ''I just wanna not eat until I'm under 130'' I literaly gasped and said ''DON'T DO THAT!'' hehe You are so close, you will get there suuuuuper soon! Do you have any ''I'm riding til the end of the world'' planned for this weekend?

tatterscoops : Welcome! Good luck on your weight loss

JessicaB : don't worry too much about your kids never having the toy with the McDo meal I grew up in a very rural spot, and the nearest McDo was like 1h30 car ride away, so I never EVER had one when I was a kid, and I grew up kinda okay, I think! And that is awesome that your husband and you had come to an agreement of giving him the kids duty a few times a week! That will give you some time to run, workout or just enjoy yourself. Great job on getting new clothes : there is nothing that aknowledging yourself for you loss weight than getting clothes you're feeling great in it!

My scale said 137.9 pounds this morning. That is coming out of nowhere, since I was at 139.something yesterday, but I went to the #2 and peed like crazy yesterday. I don't know if it will stick but, H*LL YEAH, that's a moove in the right direction!!

We are attending a BBQ for a friends birthday tomorrow in Montreal. We are bringing our own meet (so I'll be able to control my portion and what's in there) and our alcohol (the lady is not going to drink like crazy, thank you!). My friend said she was taking care of the salad and everything. She is a really good cook and like to eat healthy too, so even if I have to indulge a bit it won't be that bad. I'm gonna try to wake up early tomorrow morning and get my long run done before we leave, so it's gonna be okay if I indulge a bit. The boyfriend requested pasta for tonight, so I'll be able to do a bit of carb loading before my run... I'm planning healthy seafood pasta, yumm!

I'm really feeling better with myself since yesterday. My tummy is slowly loosing the big BULGE I was stuck with since I gained. YEAH!

Hi everyone!

Let's see - my name's Dominique, this is my second time losing weight. The first was going from 175 to 120. Over the past few years, I let my weight bounce up to 130, and I'm slowly grinding it down to 115. Well, that's the goal.

I've been doing yoga twice a week for a couple months now, and within the past couple of weeks, I've added cardio and resistance training to my routine. I've been pleased with the results (muscle definition, yay!), but my weight-on-the-scale has been irritatingly stable for the past several weeks. I'd really like to carve the last few pounds off, and/or reduce my bodyfat by another 8% or so.

I'm hoping to start the program laid out in Making The Cut on Monday, so there's a good change that that will break my plateau, one way or another. Has anyone here tried that program, or have any advice for reducing body fat?

Alexis - Glad you're still with us! I'm lucky that I have the time right now to do personals, but soon I'll have to say goodbye to the whole site for a while... deployments.
That's great that things are going so well at work, and hopefully you can get back to where you want to be with the rest of your program as well. Sometimes it has to take a backseat though... no biggie!

Philana - Eek, that is close! You can do it! (Just make sure you eat or it will come back with a vengeance... haha)

TatterScoops - Welcome to the Feather's Chat! Good luck tomorrow.

Jessica - Oh good, I'm glad you like the pictures! I actually read a study yesterday that said that there has been a link in the increase of viewing of "Food Porn" and a subsequent increase in overeating. Apparently due to the glamor shots of the food, particularly desserts and fatty/oily fare people are seeking out these foods as a way to satisfy that craving. Makes sense...
I was thinking about not posting any more of them because after all this is a weight-loss forum and I don't want to be inconsiderate to anyone! If anyone has any issues I'll gladly stop posting, but really I am just wanting to share new healthy dishes that I'm excited about.
I can see how it would be difficult to plan meals with your hubby and kiddos. I have the (mis)fortune of not living with my husband and having no children so I only have to fend for myself.
I hope the new schedule works out and you can get out for your mommy fitness time! Keep us updated.

Turbo - His arm is just about all healed, but now he has tendonitis in his other elbow and his knee from being a jackass and not resting his body enough. *sigh* Men.
Good call on skipping McDonalds... haha. I mean, yeah, you have to do what you have to do but packing a meal from home is usually the better way to go. At least you know what's in your food!
That's so fantastic that you're finally seeing a move in the positive direction. I know you've been down on yourself a bit since returning from vacation and gaining a bit. It's all temporary though! Have fun at the BBQ and get your run on tomorrow!

Dominique - Welcome to the Feather's Chat! I haven't tried the program, but from what I have seen all programs like that work if you stick to them and eat accordingly. Patience, as they say, is a virtue.
You may not be seeing much change on the scale because of your recent foray into weighlifting. For someone like you I would suggest measuring your progress by bodyfat and measurements as opposed to the scale. During a recomposition phase like you are going through now you're not going to be able to rely on the scale. Good luck!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ugh, my workout today was lackluster at best. I was so tired, and since I have the day off I wanted to sleep in but I had to get up early to get my workout done before an early massage appointment. It wasn't great, but better than nothing.

My massage, however... was amazing. I have a friend who does my massages and shes fantastic, totally affordable, and lives so close! I see her every other week on average and it really helps me stay flexible and helps my muscle recovery.

Whipped up a few more meals today with pictures!

This was my 3rd meal today (after my pre- and post-workout meals); egg white omelette with tomatos, mushrooms and colby jack cheese with a generous helping of hot sauce. I should have added some avocado, but it was still great.

mmmm ooozy cheesey goodness.

This one is not pretty at all, but it was delicious. I made a chocolate peanut butter mousse thing by combining cottage cheese, cocoa powder, PB2, stevia and glucomannan powder (to thicken it) and blending it up. Then, I added a few swirls of Justin's Natural Chocolate Hazelnut spread (like low sugar all natural Nutella... much better tasting too) so that I would get bites of it throughout.

This one is lunch; baby shrimp, tilapia, asparagus, tomatos, quinoa, garlic and lemon juice. This was AMAZING.

You can probably see by my pictures that I buy groceries for the week and just use the items until they are gone. This week was lots of shrimp, tomatos, spinach and asparagus huh? hahaha, I guess I know what I like!

Oh, and dinner is going to be chicken with pumpkin fettucini. Yeah, thats how I roll. EDIT: Here it is... with parmesan of course!

My breakfasts tend to be oatmeal and eggwhites so I don't take pictures of that most times, but tomorrow will be chocolate chip pancakes! Whoot!

Great food porn, Josh!

Can I add my own? I made this tonight:

It's like a calzone - so yummy but low in calories

Wheat Pita pocket: 140 cals
1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese: 90 cals
1/3 cup Price Chopper non fat cheddar cheese: 45 cals
1/2 can Price Chopper mushrooms: 30 cals
fresh spinach: 10 calories
fresh basil
2 cloves of garlic

Mix everything, stuff the pita and bake at 375 for 20-30 mins.

I served with a side of cut up cucumbers and tomatoes in non fat balsamic vinaigrette.

Y'alls food really looks amazing. I am on a supertight budget at the moment and my mom does the groceries so I deal with what I have but would be so nice to cook super healthy again.

Weight is still dropping, weird stuff. 130.5lbs this am. And yes Turbo planning another long ride today, about 40 miles or so. I've gone riding 3 times and running 2 times this week. Good score given that I have not had a day off in a week and a half and wont have one in another few weeks. It's all good though. I admit to being too lazy to reply to you all, I read everything but it seems like so much work to reply everybody personally! Sorry folks.

I have reached the point where everybody tells me "you ain't gonna lose any more weight are you?". So I feel like I now have to be secretive about it. But they see me eat good and enough and they see me exercise enough. So I don't think people will think I am doing anything unhealthy. But I do wanna drop more weight. So, we'll see how to deal with that when people notice.

Those food looks so good!

Thank you JossFit.

I got my body fat measured today but I'm not quite sure if that scale was right it says I'm 25% (I was at 27% last July) so I got home and did the online thing using the US Navy Estimate and it says I'm at 22%. LOL quite confusing really but oh well just have to keep on working.

Today is cheat day for me so YAY Have a great w'end guys!

Cherrypie - I like your take on Calzones! I may have to play around with that as well. I'd probably throw some chicken up in there, but the idea is so simple! I could do a lot with that... thanks for the inspiration.

TatterScoops - I think the most important thing about whatever method you choose to track your progress is choosing ONE source. If you weigh yourself, I think using the same scale all the time is important. If you go by bodyfat percentage, using the same tool to measure it would be the best way to go.
This is just my opinion of course, so take it for what its worth, but the main thing is consistency. If you weigh on one scale and then another one 3 seconds later there may be a difference of 5 pounds just because the scales are off. Likewise with bodyfat percentages, it's SOOO inaccurate (especially the online calculators) that trying to compare results from two of them could drive a woman insane.
What's the best way then? Scale, measurements, bodyfat percentage based off of those measurements, pictures, clothing? So many choices!! Ultimately it's up to you, but whatever you choose has the potential to drive you nuts. Don't let it.
Enjoy your treat day!

[b]Philana - Gotta love those unsolicited comments about your weight loss huh? If there is a silver lining to that obnoxiousness, it's that you can see that people love you and care about your well-being so take that for what it is. I only talk about my fitness goals here because this is the place for it. In my everyday life mentioning that sort of thing would only lead to more comments about my weight that I don't want to hear. Ultimately its a very personal thing so just do what you want and talk to us about it here.
If people make those types of comments I've found the best way to asuage them and not get too specific is to just say "I love to be active and feel healthy so I workout and put good things into my body to feel that way." (Or some variation of that) Let them thing that fat loss is a byproduct of your healthy lifestyle and not the other way around.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good morning Feathers! Well it's good for me anyway, so I hope the same holds true for you guys out there.

My doctor called last night and let me know that my biopsy results came back normal, so that's a relief. With that done, my degree I was working on finished, and the wedding behind us I feel a lot less stress!

Today was also my weekly WI and I lost the gain from my gluttonous face-stuffing a couple of weekends ago... and then some. Back on the low end of my happy range at 115.8lbs today - time to bump up to maintenance cals!

Oh, and who wouldn't be having a good morning after getting some of this in their face? First time making this particular recipe and it was PERFECT. Not too sweet, texture was great... just what I hoped it would be!
I made my standard protein pancake base using milled wheat bran and egg whites and from there added natural chocolate extract, cocoa powder, stevia and a dash of cinnamon to make it a chocolate pancake. Then, I added in natural dark chocolate chips and after it was cooked I sprinkled a few more on top of the pancake. It was awesome... some chocolate chips cooked into the cake and the ones on top melted into a chocolate topping.

I think the key was using bittersweet dark chocolate rather than milk chocolate to keep it from being overly sweet.

Now that I'm fueled up, time to hit the gym!

philana : awww I hated it too when I started to get ''you're not gonna lose more, are you?'' (and honestly, 2 collegues started to tell me this when I was still overweight at 165 lbs) I don't tell people anymore I'm trying to lose weight, I use the ''I just enjoy working out'' or the ''I'm just becoming more muscular'' (which isn't true, but people who are not working out beleive me LOL) It's a bit lying to people, but it's probably better than getting angry at some point because they just don't get the fact that this is MY body...

tatterscoop : I'm a bit with Joss on the fact that the online calculator are most of the time innacurate... ever that of measuring your inches, instead?

Jossfit : THIS PANCAKE LOOKS SOOO SOOO GOOD! I'm a fan of pancake! (actually a fan of everything I can throw some maple syrup on it...) Could you post the recipe when you will have 2 minutes? Oh and I'm so glad for you that your biopsie came back normal Such a releive for you!

***

I was at 138.8 this morning after having an heavy meal of seafood spaghetti last night and (many) homemade chocolat chip cookies. I decided last night that I was baking something, which I haven't done in a long time (baking and dieting are not the best friends ever, isn't strange...) I picked my usual recipe of cookies, only put half of the sugar and for the 1 cup of butter needed (OMG) I put about 1/2 of it and completed the rest with some apple sauce. The were not as good looking as the usual, but they were soft and chewy and much healthier. The boyfriend was thrilled about them LOL

I just got back from my long run and Im putting some ice on my knees while writing this. I only had a slice of bread with jam and half a gatorade so far today and I'm planning to have a light lunch of granola and fat free greek yogurt before going to the BBQ of my friend. It's a ''bring your meat'' thiny so I'll go for a chicken breast... Staying on track, oh yeah!!

Have a good saturday, feathers!!

Thanks JossFit & TurboMammoth, yes I agree because most of these online calculators that I tried to measure body fat percentage are way off, it certainly drive me nuts lol. I will measure myself after I finish my first round of Chalean Extreme which will be next week. I was told to focus on body fat percentage more than what my scale said but I definitely feel my size 8 shorts really loose now

Philana: OMG I can so relate. Just last weekend, my own mother scolded down at me while I was about to eat a big plate of pasta on my cheat day. She said "You better stop loosing weight! You look so skinny and old now. It's ugly!" I seriously felt like crying right there and then. It took me a couple of days to shake it off. I've heard them coming from strangers before and as annoying as they can get, to hear it from your own mother really hurts. I tried to explained to her that I'm trying to get my body fat percentage down and getting toned, building muscles bla bla bla but she just shot me down saying basically now I look old and ugly. Ouch!

PS: JossFit, those pancake looks so good, I could lick my screen!
