152???!!! Bugger!

  • Well, I knew I'd been a bit of a pig over the summer. And I knew that my fat jeans were getting tight.

But I didn't expect to see 152 when I got on the scales this morning! I haven't been 152 since I saw it on the way down back in 2008. The highest I have been in this yo-yo phase was 149, which I thought was bad enough.

So, back to the drawing board. Luckily it was my dh's birthday on Saturday and there is no cake left and the next event is my birthday which is not till the end of October.

So, accountability starts here. First mini goal - lose 5 lbs in the next four weeks. New term - new start!
  • It happens.... Good luck!
  • Stepping on the scales is a big step...I know how easy it is to just pretend you don't need them, and then see a terrible surprise when you hop on. I'm fighting some "wait, I'm this high?!" recently too, hope we can pull it together!
  • I was down to 151 yesterday and this morning I saw 149.4 - which was nice! Maybe the 152 high was just water weight, but it was still a number I didn't expect to see.

I have been very naughty though recently - the clothes I can actually wear at the moment are limited and I refuse to buy anything in a bigger size. So the diet is definitely on again!!

I'm halway through my first mini-goal, although I expect it will take longer than two days to lose the next 2.5 lb! Wouldn't it be great if that initial quick weight loss was sustainable? 2.5 every two days would be fantastic!!
  • You can do it!
  • You can do it! I'm hoping to be way out of the 150s by November! Let's get it going!
  • Yay - down another pound - 148.4 today. Now if I can only get the inspiration to start running again.
  • Good luck!! I am chronicling my return-to-the-wagon as well. I only gained a few lbs but I haven't lost anything since MAY (my own fault) and I need to buck up and do it. Best wishes for your return, it looks like it's started off great!
  • Robsia.
I have a foot injury and can't run anymore I never really liked when I started it but now I miss it so much. It always reminded me how, when I was a kid, I would just run all over the place and feel so free and fun, like a little puppy.
Be thankful you can go out and run! We get old. We don't have time. We have injuries. And we can never get that feeling back..
  • What kind of foods are you eating?? I feel like my weight is yo-yo-ing on a day to day basis.
  • Hey guys! Jumping in here

I feel you, I've climbed up to 148..hoping to get into the
    130's by christmas.
  • Well, I was stuck at 148.4 for a few days. LUckily it didn't go up as I get disheartened when it goes up.

But it dropped down to 148 this morning - yay!

So I'm down four full pounds in a week and 2 days. I hope to lose that final pound to make it five by next Monday, which will make my weight loss 1.5 pounds in the second week. After that my goal will be a pound a week.

Will I ever see 129 again? I hit it briefly in the summer of 2009 - I know it's possible!!

If you have faith then it will definitely be possible. You were there once so it shouldn't be that hard. Just stick to whatever you are doing.
