belmagick -- Being thin wouldn't suit you?? Obviously they were slightly jealous of your weight loss and how good you looked

Hey, look at this way, at least it's not your mother-in-law who's saying horrible things. I dropped my kids off for a few hours about a month ago and she hadn't seen me for awhile. She exclaimed as she rolled her eyes, "you're way too skinny! Aren't you a little old to want to look like a cover girl?" I was too taken aback to even respond, lol. Although in all 'fairness', she's called me 'skinny beyotch' for twenty years behind my back so I'm used to her viciousness. Word does get back to me you know. She's like at least 40 pounds overweight and puts me down every single chance she gets. It could always be worse. Just a thought.

That's an example of a guy thinking he's giving you a compliment by implying you're skinny in a joking way. They can be very thick-headed :P

In the end, I do take it as a compliment, not as the insult that I felt. In the end, I know I'm a powerful woman, both physically and socially, regardless of my physical stature. Thats all I need to know. I just hope that ALL people, fat or fit, can tap into their inner strength and promote themselves to help others in any way they were blessed to help. |
