Default Anyone else watching 'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition'?

This show has me absolutely riveted, week to week, episode to episode. I'm sobbing throughout most of the show. These morbidly obese people writing letters to Chris Powell, the trainer, desperate for help just about rips my heart in two.

They are so motivating to me even as a Featherweight. These men and women just roll their sleeves up and jump in feet first to a new way of doing things: eating right and exercising. And then to see them a whole year later, it's just awe-inspiring!

It kind of makes me feel like my journey was so small in comparison to theirs as I've never been as heavy as them. It also makes me appreciate what some people go through on a daily basis b/c of their weight. I have so much respect and admiration for them and for the trainer, Chris who's so patient and postive-minded.

I can't say enough about the show. It just tugs on my heart strings - EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Yes, I watch this for the same exact reasons you do. It keeps me inspired and it also keeps my woe-is-me attitude in check! And I tear up through out the entire thing. My heart broke for that one guy who had to check himself into a food addiction rehab program. I hope they have a follow-up show too. I'd love to see how they are all progressing!! I love Chris so much. His dedication to these wonderful people is just amazing!

I watched my first episode of it last night online while I was running on the treadmill! OH MY GOSH, I totally cried. I can't remember the girl's name of the one I watched, but she had 2 kids and her husband had earlier had a stroke and couldn't work, she was the breadwinner. Holy cow, I will NEVER say I don't have time to exercise EVER again! No excuses!

I also managed to run longer and harder than I ever have before while I was watching it -- talk about motivation!

The only think that bothered me is that he gives each client a huge goal to meet -- this woman was 450lbs and he had her lose 100lbs in the first 3 months. Isn't that unhealthy to lose that much so fast?

Still, I love watching the show!

I thought this too at first but these awesome people have SO much to lose that a pound a day is completely feasible and can be done in a healthy way. Even a 100 pounds in the 3-6 month phase it also possible. I am pretty sure they are on a very low carb diet too.

It is a very motivating show! When I am feeling low it's a great pick me up. And that woman last night.... bless her heart! Of all the shows they did, that was my favorite. So you picked a good one to watch!

I watched a couple of episodes on Hulu after reading this thread, and wow, I am hooked! These people are so inspiring and give me so much motivation. It's amazing how much they can change their body AND their mindset.
