Bust/Waist/Hip measurements?
 
I notice that the majority of 3FT members only post their progress on the scales but seeing as my goal is more to do with increasing muscle mass and decreasing my body fat percentage I'm curious to see how you guys size up when confronted with a tape measure :P

The tape and lean muscle mass are much kinder to me than the scale. I, like you, use the measurements as my guide. Here's my current stats:

Weight - 161
Hips - 39
Waist - 33
Body Fat - 33%
Lean Mass - 30%

I'm more interested in more muscle and less fat, than the scale number. I consider myself something of an amateur athlete, and only cut weight to go faster! ;)

See my signature! My goal is to get my hourglass figure back, but not if it takes me under 115 lbs. I started off at 37-29-39, right now I'm 36-28-38.5...stupid saddlebags...my goal is 36-27(or 26, if I'm lucky)-36.

I take a crazy amount of measurements...ribcage [32] (under my boobs), neck [12], arms [11.5], upper hips [35.5](spare tire) waist at belly button[32], thigh[22], calf[13.5...only an inch from my beginning upper arm measurement, yuck!] and forearm [9]. I figured I was losing weight but my chest/waist/hips weren't budging, so where the heck was it coming from? My spare tire and my upper arms, apparently...can't complain!

Yes I have way too much fun measuring myself

Right now I'm at 40/35/39 (B/W/H). Other measurements are: arm--12.5, thigh--20.5, ribcage--35.

Measurements are fun because that's where we can really see the differences in body shapes. I find it really interesting to see where my measurements are compared to someone at a similar weight (or differences in weight if our measurements are similar)... I just find it really cool that everyones' bodies are so different!

@mortonpixie I'm pretty much in the same boat as you as I'm a dancer/runner and I'm really trying to build up on my lean muscle mass :)

@Ariruns Haha, feel free to chime in whenever :)

I weigh 130 pounds and my measurements are:
Bust: 38"
Waist: 26"
Hips:37"

So most of my weight goes on my chest which I'm thankful for but unfortunately its also the first place weight seems to come off :/

34-28-38. My hips need to gooooo away! I'm like a 4 on top and a 10 on the bottom.

Like a lot of you gals, I'm focusing on fat loss rather than just weight loss. I didn't start out with much muscle mass, so I definitely didn't want to lose any if I could help it!

weighing around 127-128 pounds lately
Current measurements:
waist: 25.5
hips around butt: 38
hips at fullest point above butt: 36.5
bust: 36.5 (though I think I may have shrunk slightly since I quit the Pill recently, maybe 36)
ribcage: 28
thighs: 22 (took me the last three months to whittle them down from 23!)

This is almost exactly me! I measured last week and I am 34-29-39. I am between an 8 and 10 on the bottom but small on top. Like junior's small, not woman's small. It's so bizarre and I feel so disportionate sometimes. Especially when I am lying down. Does anyone else feel like their thighs spill out the sides when laying flat on their back but when you stand up (or lift your hips up) it goes away? LOL I just gotta say -- THANK GOD I do not have a serious boyfriend! It's not going to be about the number of dates I go on before we decide to be intimate. It'll be about these 10-11 pounds coming off first! :D

My hips have always been huge in proportion to the rest of my body...ugh! I hate it!

My measurements are:

Bust - 36
Ribcage - 33 1/2
Waist - 28
Fattest part of stomach - 34 (!!)
Hips 39
Arm - 11
Neck - 13

Apparently this makes my body fat % 24%. I'd like to get it down to around 21-22%

I didn't bother sucking in my stomach to measure it but to reduce that number is my main goal this month. I don't want to lose any from my bust, and my waist is OK. Hips and lower stomach can disappear though!

@claire0412 if you want to try and flatten out your stomach then I recommend pilates and although (unfortunately) we can't spot reduce pilates helps even out the fat that is there so as you look trimmer :3 blogilates on tumblr is great

Thighs: 22 (ugh!)

HATE my thighs, it's definitely coming off there the slowest I've only lost two inches since I started measuring. By comparison, I've lost 4 off of my waist and 3 off of my hips.

EDIT: I re-measured this morning after a woosh and so I'm updating these

I'm an apple when heavy, an hourglass when slim, and perhaps a ruler when skinny? I don't know...

I swim, use a rowing machine, and do Filipino MMA (Muay Thai Kickboxing, western boxing, street fighting, knife techniques, and some more stuff with a big cardio warmup!)

I run/bike/swim 5-4 days a week and lift weights. Lifting weights builds muscle and speeds your metabolism. Don't be afraid of bulking up - just choose a weight that allows you to do 15-20 reps before failure. HTH

My shape also changed as I lost weight. At 168, my measurements were something like 42/35/44.5; now I'm 36/25.5/38. My hips/butt won't shrink much in these last several pounds, because my wide-set "birthing" hips are an exception to my small frame, and I always have boobs. I anticipate that most of these last several pounds will come off my belly (24" waist 10 years ago, would like to have it back) and thighs.

I vividly remember the first time I noticed I was gaining weight at age 18. I was driving and had a can of soda with me. I was used to holding soda cans between my thighs. I put it there, and WOOP! It squeezed itself right back out. Put it there again, WOOP! :lol: So I think my thighs are first to come on, last to go...

They came when I was 9. Photos from the time show me with horrible posture-rounded, hunched shoulders.
Just measured my ribcage; it's 28.7 inches.
No wonder my 34DD are too loose around me...

Here are my measurements as of this morning:

Bust: 33(C)
Waist: 26
Hips: 33 - hopelessly banana-shaped, lol.
BMI: 18.88
Body fat: 18.2%
Lean body mass: Roughly 99 lbs., about 18 lbs. is considered 'fat'.

Goal is to get to 15% body fat or somewhere around 112 lbs., whichever comes first.

Run, run, run and then run some more. My thighs were always flabby, seriously. Since running they've become a lot tighter and more muscular. I have almost no visible cellulite either from all the running I've been doing which I hear helps with the condition.

I too am going for inches lost more then the number on the scale. The number on the scale NEEDS to move cause it sits at 158 pounds and I am 5"5. However the last 3 weeks at the gym going 4 days a week 1-2 hours a day, plus moderate exercise at home everyday. Time at the gym is also spent a couple days 2-3 on weights. The last 3 weeks I have lost 0 pounds but I have lost 2 inches in my rib cage, and 1 inch in my natural waist, Hoping the inches continue to say buh bye and they continue to work the way down my body!!! lol :)

Hm, I've never before measured myself yet. So I have no feeling for picturing measurements either. I skipped the bust part cus a. I dont care and b. I don't know where to measure :P

Thighs: 28 (yes, almost as fat as my ribcage! wow)

I think I'm a pear, my upperbody is skinny quite fast, it's the bottom that gets big.

I know it's only an inch bigger, but I'm so shocked my hips are bigger than my boobs. My boobs are huge. I obviously can't be looking at ALL of my bum. :P
