Hi ladies! I have a question for all of you. :-) I'm super short and the healthy weight range for my height is 105-135. Seems like everyone my height has a goal in the 110s.
I'm wondering how this is possible, especially if you are building muscle while losing weight. I'm at 20% body fat right now (well, as of 8 weeks ago, but I certainly haven't gotten bigger.) That puts me at 102 pounds of lean muscle and essential tissue. 26 pounds of fat. If I went down to 115 and tried to keep all my lean muscle, it would mean I would only have 13 pounds of fat...10% body fat!!! That is obviously not healthy at all. So I'm just straight-up curious....are all you little ones focusing on muscle? Do you have really slight frames? Because even if I go to 18% body fat, I will still be around 124. |

Chickiechicks I haven't had my body fat percentage measured in over 3 months. I would love to have it measured though.

After I reach my goal weight and size, which I am very close to already, my goals will be fitness related. I also want to increase my metabolism until I can eat reasonably without gaining weight. I understand I will certainly have to stay on some kind of eating plan for the rest of my life to avoid yo-yo-ing yet again. But I need to be able to eat more than 600 calories a day, too. So developing a new BMR set point and a muscle base for metabolism is going to be my new focus. |

Does anyone have any Christmas survival plans. I'd like to avoid gaining if possible? |

My plan is to just eat enough and not over-do it. I cannot avoid sweets so I do allow myself to eat some now and then but I have to be aware of my portions. Sodium is another thing during holidays. It causes water retention and I hate it. |
I'm so happy about reaching the 120s today. Wiiiii.

Congratulations Isabella.

two weeks away of sales conference and customer visits and drinking plenty and eating whatever others did, and unsurprisingly i've put on weight. 122lb this morning, which i was pretty horrified with since i was down to 118-119 before i set off, but on reflection it's not so bad really!
the trick now is to try and get back in to my old routine, which is challenging part since now i've got a taste for carbs and sugar and alcohol and bigger portions...... Great work to you Ryler and to you Isabella! I've never had my fat measured properly. All i've got are the bathroom scales which first thing in the morning say about 25% and later on in the day say about 22%. Anyone know how those bathroom scales things compare to actual caliper readings? Or does it vary from person to person? |
Thanks Ange! It's hard to eat healthy when you're not home and especially when you're traveling for work. I'm sure those 3-4 lb will just melt off like it did the first time around.
|
thanks for the encouragement Ryler, but now i've just found out i have to go to Canada then US in 3 days time, for work for a week! More travelling and socialising. After that i'll be home for about 4 days then i go off to UK and US again for about 4 weeks holiday! I might as well go live at the airport. So basically i'm back to being good this week, but after that i'm pretty much stuffed until end January! Ah well, there's always next year.

That's a lot of traveling. Look on the bright side, you get to parts of the world that you've never been (unless you have already)

I am soooo happy right now I could just float away. Last time I weighed (a week ago) I was finally at 128 and I had stayed that way for a few days so I was pretty sure I was finally past my plateau and beyond the 130's for good.
But I had just started JUDDD and Atkins pre-maintenance. I increased my calories, added a small amount of healthy fat (nuts, coconut oil, olive oil, sour cream, and yogurt) and I started adding veggie carbs back in slowly. I was starting to go back to the gym but I started to catch a cold so I haven't really gone as much as I had planned. However, at no point was I really sick or eating any less than usual. In fact, as I said, I have increased my calories by an average of 300 a day at least. Today I weighed myself in the middle of the day, which I never do. In the middle of a JUDDD "up" day, after breakfast and two cups of coffee. I did this silly thing because I was feeling icky and I wanted to see how much, if any, I had re-gained. I am down to 124.6. I couldn't believe my eyes and tried a different scale just to be sure. JUDDD really works! I mean, I m eating more than I was before, by a long shot! But it has apparently been resetting my metabolism, just like it's supposed to. :carrot: :broc: :carrot: :broc: :carrot: |
I have heard great things about JUDDD. I'm glad it's working for you. Keep up the good work. You seem to be losing weight fairly quick. You'll probably catch up to me in no time. My body doesn't seem to want to let go of the weight lately. I now know how hard it really is to lose the last 10 pounds.

wow shr1nk1ngme that's a big drop! Fantastic that you've found a way to get the scales going, and even more fantastic that it involves eating more!! The perfect scenario!
Just goes to show how 'clever' our bodies are in stabilizing with too few calories, and how we have to be inventive to trick them! |
