I just turned down Food Pusher Sensei who asked me FOUR TIMES if I wanted extra rice balls that are available. I should instantly lose 10 lbs for doing that, dammit.

Today was the school "marathon" race and it was so awful watching the kids run from the sidelines! I hope my foot is all better soon, I'm approaching two weeks of no running and my legs feel squishy and weak.

Weight was back to 126.3 this morning, fine, a small loss from the day before. I didn't exercise last night but I didn't binge either. Have I broken the two-week tradition of Binge Thursdays?

Veela, I am glad to hear you're no longer sick! And I am right there with you on the "cheating --> BINGING" weakness. I think you'll find you haven't truly lost your fitness level in less than two weeks, a couple more sessions and you'll be back to normal. It's like losing water weight, in a sense :)

pageta 12-17-2010 09:22 AM

Well, after a few days of veering a little off plan due to sheer exhaustion (in general, not with my diet), I have decided that today I am going to "treat" myself to eating on plan. Seriously, I'm still in the mode where I need some serious self-care or I shall lose my mind, but I will be doing things other than making yummy food for myself instead.

Add this to the list of lessons I've learned that should help me keep off the weight I've lost...

(Why do I have SO MANY lessons to learn???)

pinkflower 12-17-2010 11:30 PM

Nice work Krampus!! I need to learn from you ;)

I'm feeling so sick and a little guilty. I didn't want to cook, (thanks to a migraine) it was late, so my hubby brought home McDonald's. I had a freaking Big Mac and like 10 fries :( I've wanted a Big Mac for months and I will not be wanting it again for a long long long time. I have stomach pains and feel bloated and yucky. EWE so gross.

Soooo, I'm guessing I will bounce back up into the 140's tomorrow thanks to sodium, but I guess we'll see....I am still within my calorie goals for the week, so at least that is good news. Back on plan tomorrow. I have yoga and am also lifting tomorrow :)

Veela 12-18-2010 02:51 PM

It is official after weighing in 5 out 7 days this week at 149lbs I am out of the 150s!! I also have to lose 2lbs this week my goal is to lose these two pounds for Christmas so on Christmas day when I weigh in I will have officially lost 10lbs! I am very very excited but I know I will have some obstacles this week including.
1. A work lunch at the Mandarin (need to remember moderation and to not give in to desserts).
2. Christmas dinner at my boyfriend's mother's house on the 24th I need to remember my weigh in is the next morning so once again moderation is key there is no need to stuff myself or indulge in gravy.
3. A Christmas eve, party at my friend's house after the dinner I usually stay until 12-1 am and they usually force cookies, chili and all kinds of goodies on me so I am going to try and abstain.
4. I am going to end up losing gym hours on the 24th, 25th and 26th since I will be out of town so it needs to make sure I am going to the gym every single day this week no excuses!!

If I can beat these obstacles I really think I will be successful we will have to wait and see what happens wish me luck this isn't going to be easy!

oneoftwelve 12-18-2010 09:37 PM

Just did level one of Jillian Michael's 30-day shred! I struggled with the 2nd round of the lateral arm-raise-plus-side-lunge thing, and I still have to do my push ups from my knees, but other than that I thought it was pretty easy!
I love having something active I can do when there's snow on the ground and no way to go running! Now if I could only stop eating like a ravenous wolf (200 calories over for the day :( Oh well. . . .).

krampus 12-19-2010 02:19 AM

I definitely overdid it again, all weekend long. Starting right after I made the "I refused rice balls" post - I got up not half an hour after posting that and ate a couple. It's the week before my period and I am an insatiably hungry beast. Bought yogurt and eggs tonight, running low on vegetables and cash and payday isn't for a couple more days.

kat999 12-20-2010 06:29 PM

This week is Not Going Well. There've been holiday treats at work, there are families trying to push cookies at both me and DH, and it's just... ugh. So hard this time of the year, seriously! I'm looking forward to Christmas being OVER! TAKE THE COOKIES AWAAAAAY!!! :( :( :(

Fortunately, I have a plan! I am off work the rest of this week, but my husband isn't, so I'm going to try to get back on plan and do some bootcamp style working out Tuesday through Friday in between gift buying excursions. :)

Petite Powerhouse 12-20-2010 07:06 PM

Hey, Feathers!

So, the holidays.... A scary time, nay? Fortunately, knowing temptation was just around the corner, I cut sugar out of my diet completely about a week and a half ago in order to survive the holiday treats. The plan is going well. With Christmas so close there is sugar everywhere at work and at friends' houses, but I am not tempted by it at all. My body has adjusted: It's understanding that it doesn't need that stuff.

I think I'll keep this up because I have a cruise coming up in under seven weeks. My goal is not to gain anything on the cruise. My downfall on cruises tends to be sugar, but I know if I avoid it for the next month and a half I won't feel compelled to eat it in the Caribbean. That is the goal at any rate. :) I know most of what one gains on vacation is water weight, but it feels so good to come home from vacation not having gained anything at all. I managed that only once before; this will hopefully be the second time. It's especially important since I've promised by BF that we'll do a lot of water and beach activities. If I'm going to wear a bikini I'd better not gain the kind of fat and water weight I am capable of gaining on vacation. I know myself, and I know I wouldn't feel comfortable bearing it all if that happened.

krampus 12-20-2010 10:36 PM

Will of steel, Petite Powerhouse. WILL OF STEEL. After reading what you need to eat to maintain normally I can only imagine how much you would have to eat in order to GAIN weight on vacation.

I'm 2.3 kg/5 lbs down from my morning-after weight on Sunday morning which was 60 kg/132 lbs. That's a LOT of water weight. All it took was one full day of eating well. I have completely blown my birthday/Xmas goal, a bit of a fail, but I hope I will see 125.anything by Friday morning, which is the start of my birthday/Xmas/going to Germany the day after Xmas for 10 days vacation. Still can't run on my foot and need new shoes before attempting.

What do you guys usually do about food on the go? It's a 19 hour trip from departure from Fukuoka to landing in Frankfurt with 2 layovers (Seoul and Amsterdam). I imagine there will be at least 3 mid-air meals provided. I'm going to try to drink at least 5 liters of water during the process.

Veela 12-20-2010 11:39 PM

This morning I saw 148.8 on the scale. I am beginning to believe 147 is within my reach. I am really just looking to see that number I don't care if it is 147.9 or 147.0 I just want to see 147 appear on my scale Christmas day. Once I see a number 3 times in a week it becomes my official weight but I am still counting the Christmas goal.

This weekend I cooked a bunch of chicken, red river cereal and eggs. I also cut up veggies and have basically planned every meal I am eating (except lunch on Wednesday) from here until Friday night.

I made a goof tonight because I had salsa and a chips but I really needed something else in my stomach and it really help curb my hunger. I also managed to go to the gym for an hour today but my endurance is still pretty crap I just need to push a little harder and all will be well.

LillyLover 12-21-2010 09:03 AM

Kat999, I had NO idea how hard it would be to diet in an office setting. I'm back at my internship while I'm on break from school, and there are treats all over the place! I can really only focus on resisting one treat at a time. I get defeated and overwhelmed when I think about the food minefield I have to avoid over the next two months while I'm here.

Petite Powerhouse, please send some of that energy my way! I'll be going to Australia about the same time that you're going on your cruise, and I want to be at or below goal by then. It's pretty realistic at this point, but I need to get out of the maintenance rut I'm in right now. I don't want to maintain at 125!!

Krampus, I've given up on my Christmas goal as well, which was 120. It was completely realistic until I started to slowly slip about two weeks ago. At least I've been maintaining, I guess? Your vacation sounds so exciting! Where in Germany will you be going? On the plane, I think the best thing for you to do would be to guzzle water. Maybe you can ask for the vegetarian option or something? That may be healthier.

Veela, you are so close to 147! You will definitely be there in no time. Your goof is no big deal--it could have been a lot worse, right?

So I'm at my internship/work all day today, but I'm basically useless because I don't have computer access yet. I'll probably be all over 3FC today catching up haha. Thank goodness I got an iPad, it's saving my sanity right now! I do feel bad for looking like a slacker though.

Oh, Lilly, offices are the WORST for staying on plan, but fortunately if yours is anything like mine, the treats only get tempting around the winter holidays. By January, everyone feels so guilty so there's only carrot sticks in the communal fridge! ;)

Fortunately, my boss is a workout fiend. He goes to the gym all the time and eats really clean, so most of the year he's good to have around. He just went nuts with his own baking this week, which he only does around the holidays, and killed us all with cookies and cake. The main supervisor has a retired wife who bakes, and so HE brought in a bunch of other stuff yesterday, too. Ugh. I should've stayed home yesterday.

LillyLover 12-21-2010 10:18 AM

Kat, apparently my boss' boyfriend is a baking fiend too! Luckily my boss is out this week, so he won't be bringing treats in from home. We're having some kind of happy hour later today though, so who knows what's going to be there. There's also some banana bread in the room right next to mine and it smells sooo good. Well, such is life! I just keep drinking water. 7 more hours of resisting!!

krampus 12-21-2010 10:36 AM

Veela You can do it!!! Do cardio (not right before bed) on Christmas Eve and make sure eating is 100% that day.

LillyLover OMG 7 hours of resistance, you're in for a fun day. Offices are the worst. At my old job I couldn't believe how very obese almost everyone was but there was always cake, BBQ, etc. As for Germany I'm hanging out from the 26-30th in Mannheim and Karlsruhe (southwest) because I have friends there, then heading to Berlin for New Years Eve and flying back to Japan Jan. 5th. I can't wait! My birthday (Friday) goal is anything under 126.0. So much for 124.

My neighbor is having me over for dinner tomorrow. BACON AND EGGS ON WHITE RICE. Whaaaaat?

The sad thing about junk food is that it's so much easier to max out your calories if that's what you eat. I can eat healthy food all day and not go over my calorie intake for maintenance, but one piece of cheesecake can have 1,400 calories. When I go on vacation, I tend to still eat healthy, but that's when I also tend to let my vigilance with sugar slip. And thus the calories add up fast.

I hear you on the water weight. It's amazing how much you can lose in a day if you follow a day or two off plan with a day fully on plan.

LONG FLIGHT!! Wow. I've never flown that far. As for food, I'd suggest healthy snacks: carrots, nuts, cheerios, etc. You have to be careful with nuts because of the calories, but they are good for you and have a decent amount of protein. And veggies you can of course eat a ton of without worrying about calories too much. And, if you don't let yourself get too hungry it will be easier to eat the healthiest parts of the meals they serve you on the plane.

Petite Powerhouse 12-21-2010 12:40 PM

As for work, my office is connected to the kitchen. Yes, that's right: of all the employees here, I am the closest to the Christmas goodies.

neurodoc 12-21-2010 02:30 PM

Since I so often post when feeling frustrated, down and discouraged, I thought I would give a positive report for a change.

First a HUGE NSV for me: I did not one, but 2 unassisted pullups this morning at the gym. I have had this as a goal for at least 4 months, and hadn't checked to see if I could finally get all the way up since before my surgery (when I still couldn't). Imagine my shock this morning when I finally did it. I've always admired those women who could move their entire body weight against gravity like that- now I've joined the club.

The other happy note is that I'm finally back down to 125 (saw 124.6 on the scale this morning). I know I'll be up again tomorrow due to a heavy weight-lifting bout at the gym this am, but still, it's a good sign, especially during the Christmas sugar season.

Petite Powerhouse 12-21-2010 02:37 PM

Congrats, neurdoc! I'm definitely very proud that I can do unassisted pull-ups. It's a great feeling, nay? :)

kat999 12-21-2010 03:26 PM

RESIST THOSE GOODIES, PEOPLE!

Ugh, Petite, you're connected to the kitchen?!?!

I took today through Friday off, and I'm so glad I did. I'm doing a little workout bootcamp at home today, alternating short workout sprints (my goal was to make it to 120 minutes total exercise; I'm at 110 now and will probably go over a little) with some present wrapping. I feel way less guilty about all the snacks I ingested yesterday! ;)

I am! And, since I typed that, someone brought in a world of chocolates and chocolate-covered nuts, pretzels, and cinnamon bears, and someone else brought in cranberry bread and pumpkin chocolate-chip bread. It never ends!! My coworker came in to get some, saying he could smell it from across the building. Um, yeah. I don't need a super smeller: it's right there outside my office door. I can't not smell it.

I can't wait until next week. I have the whole week off. It's the first time I've had time off at Christmas—I usually work even on Christmas morning to meet a deadline—and it will be so nice to be away from the work kitchen and able to go to the gym whenever I want instead of late at night after work.

LillyLover 12-21-2010 06:27 PM

Well, I managed to resist for 6 of 7 hours. Oops. This is way harder than I thought it would be...

Honestly, at this point I'll be happy to maintain through the rest of this month. I've been successful with that so far, despite my cheatorama. Definitely wasn't my plan though :(

I've also come to learn that I'm somewhat of a binge eater. Once I cheat, it's way downhill until someone literally takes the food away from my reach. Bowls of snacks are my sworn enemy.

Oh god, cheesecake. I forget that all that stuff exists in such huge sizes. Most of the desserts in Japan are sold in Starbucks-esque portions of typically no more than 500 calories per piece.

As for the no sugar thing, does that also include fruit? I'm curious as to what a totally sugar free diet looks like.

Yeah, it is long but going from Japan to Europe feels a lot quicker than going from Japan to America. The worst ever was going from Japan to Taiwan to ALASKA and finally to New York from Alaska, talk about wasted time. Thanks for the suggestions, I think I'll pack my adorable lunchbox I got for Christmas with raw veggies and bran cereal. The airplane meals shouldn't be too bad, the long flight is between Seoul and Amsterdam so I think I'll eat the Korean meal minus the rice and sort all the potatoes out of the European meal.

***

Today I am back down to 125.2, which means my ticker and user stats are now telling the truth! My neighbor who I don't know terribly well but we are friends is having me over for dinner tonight...bacon and eggs on rice with edamame. Minefield, minefield. I know she likes her rice and I don't want to make her feel awkward about eating it, but I also don't want to eat it.

I went shopping last night for some essentials. I ended up buying a size SMALL turtleneck at Uniqlo (many times I'm squeezing into Mediums in Japan), a Medium (smallest size - M, L, LL) hoodie, and most gloriously, a pair of jeggings in a 26 inch waist. In my mind 26 is one of those "super small" sizes that only "skinny people" wore, but it looks like I'm gonna have to change my thinking. :D :D :D

***

LillyLover Totally hear you on the snacks. The last time I binged it was about 15 minutes before leaving time at work and I went through half a bag of chocolate. I've learned my lesson - don't keep any food that's not vegetables in my house, and NO SNACKS AT MY DESK AT WORK.

neurodoc THAT'S AN AMAZING NSV. I am so happy to read that. I am nowhere near pullups yet but I'd like to work toward them. I have noticed results just from doing pushups and planks at home, and carrying heavy bags is easy breezy now.

fivestone 12-22-2010 10:48 AM

127.6 today! Couldn't believe it, so double-checked the scale. Yesterday was definitely OP. Drove through this gorgeous mountain pass with a friend yesterday, and did a ton of walking around. I was so worn out this morning!

I'm a little nervous because my husband and I have dinner with friends in a few. The couple is thin, but the husband is half-Italian, so he makes some amazing food... some of it amazingly fattening! I'll try not to go overboard. Today was a pretty light day for me foodwise, so I should be fine. My husband took the car to work besides, so I'm taking the train into the city, so I will not complain at getting in some extra exercise. (20 minute walk to train station here in town, 20 minutes in the city to our friends' house. :) )

With dessert it often isn't even about portion size. Some relatively small pieces of cheesecake here have 1,400 calories. A rather small brownie I saw the other day had just as many calories. It's about what the stores put in them. It isn't necessary to make things that way, but they do it.

As for sugar, I'm good with the sugar in fruit. It's dessert and white bread and white pasta and the like that I avoid: the things that really have no value whatsoever as food and only serve to bring on more cravings for sugar.

RoseOfPain 12-22-2010 02:28 PM

Hey,

Too late to join in? I just discovered this section for featherweights! I am starting my get-sexy-back plan in late December.

Well lets leave this year with a BANG! (a fat blasting bang!)

kat999 12-22-2010 03:02 PM

OH MY GOSH, YOU GUYS!!!!!

Because of my two-day workout bootcamp (because there can be no other reason for it; even with stopping the holiday goodie snacking, I'm still not back to eating as clean as I was before Thanksgiving), I am now officially down to 130 lbs.!!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I am now officially over halfway to my goal. And, as many of us have remarked, I may decide to adjust my goal, because honestly? I am starting to actually not hate how I look! :D I'm feeling really good and strong, which I've been noticing in daily life. On Sunday, DH and I were helping my dad paint a room in my folks' house, and short little me carried this giant full bucket of drywall patching compound all by myself. I should weigh that bucket, because while I could tell it was crazy heavy, it didn't cause me any strain at all. Hooray for lifting weights!

This tiny but momentous weight loss is very inspiring. I'm going out with friends to my favorite coffee place tonight, where I usually order some crazy calorie-laden latté, but I'm feeling so good about my success and am going to order mindfully, remembering that I'm there to hang out with my friends and have good conversation, not a mocha full of sugar and fat. Black coffee is still caffeine, after all! ;)

LillyLover 12-22-2010 03:24 PM

Kat, congratulations!! That is such a great accomplishment, especially this time of year.

Rose, welcome! It's never too late to join a chat thread :)

Congrats to you too, fivestone!

Krampus, isn't fitting into tiny sizes fun?? I definitely consider 26 a tiny people size, don't change how you think!

Soooo I was like 128ish this morning...reaaaaally losing grip this week. Definitely going to get into high gear next week, as soon as Christmas is over. ASAP. I need it, especially if I want to get to 120 by early Feb!! Ugggggh this is terribly hard while being at home. It was a breeze at school!

Wild Vulpix 12-22-2010 03:36 PM

You can do it LillyLover :D And even if it takes you as long as March or April, an extra month (or two) isn't horrible!

I come bearing good news and bad  the bad is that my father and I went out for pizza, and I consumed 5 slices in one sitting. That's about 1650. This isn't HORRIBLE because I'm going to work off 350 at the gym... but it means I won't get to eat much the rest of the day. Oh well though; I don't regret my decision.

The good news is that my exercise pants have become too big. I was jogging the other day, and I had to keep pulling them up. I had to tuck my shirt into them to keep them from falling down! So today I picked up new jogging pants, and to my surprise... I got a size small (6/4)! WOW! I figured I might be a size 8ish by now, but 6?? 4??? A SMALL???? :dizzy: I think I'm going to faint.

Veela 12-22-2010 08:08 PM

I am progressing well my weight today was 148.2 so I feel that losing those 2/10 of a pound (I realize there are not 10 ounces in a pound but my scale measures weight this way) will not be an issue.

I had a really bad day today but I am planning on having two really good days in a row so we will see. Today was my work lunch at the mandarin I had two helpings from the buffet I tried to stay away from cream sauces and deep fried foods. I drank only water. I then got all the way to the streetcar to go to the gym and realized I had left my gym bag at work so I went home. I then decided it was a really good idea to make sugar cookies for my students and co-workers unfortunately I tend to test my product but accidentally ingesting icing is quickly making me nauseous.

Tomorrow I am seeing my training and am going to ask her to beat the crap out of me. I have also found that if I down lots of water in the evening I beat the after work out bloat. I will also do some high intensity cardio Friday morning and I think that will prepare me for Saturdays weigh in.

I am so close I can almost taste it!! I have decided that if I meet my goal I will allow myself one guilt free Christmas dinner one donut (they are my nemesis) and then go back to my regularly scheduled diet (I am attending three eeeek!!).

fivestone 12-22-2010 08:43 PM

Thanks, Lillylover! Hope things go in a better direction for you!

Good job on the new size pants, Wild Vulpix! You are getting small!

Krampus -- They're saying to expect a white Christmas here. I can't speak for Berlin, but lately whenever we've gotten snow, Germany's gotten a ton and the airports and DB got all jammed. Hopefully everything works out OK for your flights... bring plenty of warm clothes! And if you drive while here in Europe and it's snowy, pleeeease be careful, 'cause bless the Germans' little hearts but most of them aren't the greatest at driving in snowy conditions. :D

kat - congrats!!!! very happy for you. :)

krampus 12-23-2010 06:25 AM

PetitePowerhouse It really is amazing how many calories you can cram into a small little thing. A lot of processed bread products here have 500+ and are less than 5 bites' worth of actual food. Disgusting!

hahahahah danke danke fivestone. Berlin is Brrrrlin lately. It's going to be such a shock considering today was 15 and sunny and I pranced around outside in a paper thin leather jacket over a t-shirt with a scarf. >_<

Veela You're awfully close! Even if you don't get there by Christmas you still will soon.

LillyLover A change in setting always mucks things up. Which is why I'm terrified of how it will be when I move back to the USA and am suddenly not fatter than most women my age...

WildVulpix Way to go on the pants! Pizza is like crack cocaine.

***

I hit 124.1 this morning. Total disbelief considering yesterday I ate 1800 or so including 5 Tim Tam cookies (I resisted an all out binge). Today's food was hardly healthy but I stayed within calories. I was out shopping and meeting a friend. I had yogurt and coffee for breakfast, a cheeseburger by itself (not fast food thankfully) for lunch, and a piece of apple pie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream for after-lunch because tomorrow is my birthday. That means dinner is a mandarin orange, so I'm eating it veeerrrryyyy slowly.

neurodoc 12-23-2010 10:25 AM

Well, I lost 2 1/2 pounds in about 2 1/2 hours this morning...'nuff said. Definitely not a good way to lose weight. Hope I feel strong enough to do my scheduled weight-lifting session after work today.

From what I see of the postings on this board, I'm impressed. As a group, the Feathers seem to be doing very well through this holiday season. Sugar, sugar all around, and we are at least holding steady with weight management.

Krampus, happy almost-birthday. I really hope you packed something warmer than a leather jacket for Germany in December (if not, what were you thinking??? Oh wait, I know, you thought- what a perfect opportunity to pick up a high-quality down parka at post-Christmas sale prices. That's actually quite clever of you).

Petite Powerhouse, what cheesecake is 1400 calories? That's insane. Even Cheesecake Factory products are in the 700-900 calorie range per slice (with 60+ fat grams and/or 80+ carb grams; ridiculous). I have a sick curiousity about "America's Most Excessive Foods" (e.g. Hardee's Monster Thickburger), and would love to add it to my list. FYI- you're my role model in the diet department. I have noticed, thanks to your comments, that I too can get away with eating more calories/day and still lose weight when I eat high-protein and healthy fats, and stay away from added sugar and overprocessed carbohydrates. And that I enjoy lifting a lot more than I like cardio (a necessary evil in my book). I've really picked these ideas up mostly from your posts over the months, so thanks.

Same7 and Dianne, you two are AWOL. Hopefully enjoying time with your families, not staying away because the scale isn't cooperating.

Enjoy your vacation and family time everyone,
Andrea

Neurodoc, The Cheesecake Factory has slices in the 1,200 to 1,300+ range as well, and other single desserts go up to 1,700 there. It's crazy!!!

I'm so happy that you are finding my posts useful. I know I am inspired by your success, seriously. :)

Same here, neurodoc. High protein/healthy fats and limited sugar/carbs still leave you feeling satisfied without starving. And strength training FTW! Though I, too, have started to learn to like cardio, or at least tolerate it. :)

neurodoc Thanks for the birthday wishes! As for warm wear, I swear half my suitcase is filled with thick socks and thick tights and leggings. I don't own any pants that fit (true story!) so it's gonna be dresses and skirts. I packed a bunch of kairo (little heat packs that stay warm all day) designed to fit inside shoes and I have my thick wool coat. I'm from upstate NY so I think I'll be ok!

Well, my tens and ones weight is officially lower than my age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm 24 today and this morning I weighed in at 56.0 kg aka 123.5 lbs. I can hardly believe it and I'm really pleased.

Way to go, Krampus!
I just got back from visiting my grandparents for Christmas. Usually, being at their house is a diet disaster, but I did amazing today (yesterday, well, Papa pulled out the nut bread, and the poppy seed bread, and the pumpkin bread, and the apricot kiefle. . . oh well. Christmas happens once a year! :). Today, I'm still under 1500 calories so far--plenty of wiggle room for our quickie egg-sandwich-and-fruit tradition for dinner that we do when running out the door to Christmas eve service.
Merry Christmas to you all!

Krampus, that's such a great accomplishment! Congrats! I think all the weight you're losing is making its way over to me...it is not a happy time in my weight loss realm right now.

Great job, oneoftwelve! PS I'm in northern VA right now, at home. We may even be close to each other!

So we had Christmas dinner with my family tonight, which we do every year. Diet disaster. I'm really buckling down starting tomorrow! I'm terrified at the weight I saw on the scale tonight when I got home from dinner. I know that my weight will go down in the morning slightly, but it was such a wakeup call to be back in thte 130s after working so hard to get into the 120s :(

Tonight, I found out that about a month and a half ago, someone asked my grandma if I got liposuction over the summer, resulting in my weight loss. I don't know whether to feel insulted or complimented by that comment...

Merry Christmas, everyone!!! :)

When you start a new exercising routine, how long can you expect the scale to shoot up for before your weight loss starts to show again? I'm starting to get a bit scared that I'm not doing something right.

I'm 130lbs, 5'0", I eat 1,200 calories, plus any calories I burn through exercising. (So if I burn 350 cals at the gym, I'll eat 1,550 calories that day.) I make sure to eat at least 48 grams of protein. I'm taking a multivitamin every day, and omega-3s. How does this sound? I worry that at 130lbs, I can't lose on 1,200 calories.

You probably can, but why do you eat back your calories?

krampus Happy Birthday and congrats on reaching 123! Amazing! Hope you are enjoying Berlin.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm off work now until next year and have been eating so much junk! Amazingly have not seen the scale move at all...waiting for it to sneak up on me soon here one morning. I've seen 141.0 each day since Saturday which was at 140.6 I guess I have gained a half pound since I was pretty consistently weighing in at 140.X a few weeks ago. But I hardly want to count just a half pound gain (and it's TOM).

Ready to get back in a routine for sure though...we were out of groceries today and of course a lot here is closed for Christmas. We actually live in a predominately Jewish area, so I was thinking Christmas wouldn't matter as we could go over to one of the many Kosher grocery stores. Then my fiancee reminded me today is Saturday and they are closed for the sabbath! D'oh! lol, we ended up calling about 10 places until we found one open to deliver us a pizza for dinner.

Looking forward to being off work next week and hitting the gym...but of course so many friends are on vacation and want to get together for meals, etc. I hope to get a few runs in to balance that out. :)
