What was it like when you first started?

I'm curious about other people's experiences of when they started their weight loss journey. Did you lose right away, in the first week, or did some of you take longer to start losing?

For me, it's been really difficult to lose the first few pounds. I keep trying and trying and my weight just stays the same. Because of that, I get frustrated and binge one day out of the week, sometimes even two. I know that's the reason why I'm not losing, but I'll go for like 3 weeks eating perfectly and exercising hardcore everyday and still not lose anything.

Anyway, just wanted to get an idea about other featherweights. Did some of you take like, a month to lose the first pound??

Did you have a "whoosh" effect? Did you get smaller but stay the same weight?

I've done all of the above!

I stayed at 142 for 2 years yet dropped a pants size...

I've cut calories, fat, etc and lost a bunch of weight quickly...

I've started exercising like crazy and lost nothing...

I've started exercising and lost slowly....

I've gone vegan and lost slowly...

This last time, I started by cutting calories back and I didn't weight for the first 2 weeks, then I started weighing every week. I lost 9 lbs the first month and now I've pretty much stalled only losing about a pound the past 2 weeks. I kept track of my calories and am wondering if perhaps I overestimated and was eating less than I thought that first month? I don't know, maybe I will go back and review my food logs in the calorie counting area.

I started really gradually. I didn't count calories or even exercise much, I just tried to eat less white rice and cut out snacks. I started eating light lunches and smaller dinners. I wasn't tracking my weight much at this point but I believe I lost pretty steadily. Eventually I started adding in running, counting calories, and cooking at home.
