I'm with Magrat--I lose on 1500-1700ish calories a day plus exercise (45 minutes of brisk walking 6 days a week).

thanks guys - with your advice I've decided to increase my calories to 1500. I'm probably eating an average of 2000 naturally so this would bring a healthy loss. I'm cool with one pound a week at this point, anything is better than gaining!

I think 1,500 is a really good place to start. Personally, I'd never go lower than that, but that's because I starve at anything lower than that. My body just will not let me do that. |
i'm SO glad to h ear of people losing on 1500 or more....I don't know where I derived 1200 from but I can never reasonably stick to it for long and just always thought anything above that wouldn't be good enough.
