slim face...

hi - i'm new here to this side of the forum and had a quick question (i edited my earlier post, as i got a really good answer for it someplace else, so didnt want to be redundant )

so my question is - how did you decide on your goal weight? my mom keeps worrying that my face will get too slim. but at the moment i like my slimmed down face. and want to keep it that way. but lose my belly fat.

is it possible to stop your face getting slimmer , if you still have fat to lose on your body? does it reach a certain level and then stop and then body fat comes off.

i hear if you eat your BMR calories but workout. that should be fine for losing the last 10 or so pounds.

Hi, Echo!

Wow, I don't know if there's any way to "stop" losing weight in one spot, but I have read several responses back from Maintainers who say that once they settled at goal for a while, the angular edges tended to round off. I have some fairly severe angles in my face that are coming back now (gee, I remember cheekbones!). Not sure if we share similar builds or not, but when I got to the weight you're at now, each pound started to make a radical difference.

Re the other question about how to take off the last 10 pounds - this is definitely the right thread! I can't answer that one yet since I'm in the same place you are, but you might want to consider posting it over on Maintainers. Many, many people seem to end up losing more while they're trying to figure out their maintenance calorie level.

Thanks so much ICUwishing!! that really helps alot!!! :) i appreciate your reponse :)

btw congrats on losing 25lbs! thats so weird, but we both have same starting weight and height!! spooky hehehehe wow you're at 149lbs thats awesome!

you look great!

thanks again:)

yah i heard that maintaining isnt very different to how you got to goal weight, which is interesting.

I think the face thinning only concerns people who knew you with a fuller face. My best friend tends to comment about my face getting too slim when I lose weight as I already have a small thin face to begin with. However, i get hit on loads more when I am thin, even with my thin face... so, I don't think it makes me less attractive to strangers. It's just strange for the people who have seen me with a fuller face.

Your family and friends will get use to your new face in time, don't let it keep you from reaching your goals. By reaching your goals healthily your face will radiate beauty, but if done unhealthily you run the risk of looking gaunt.

i once read (tho it was prolly in a magazine, so idk about the accuracy) that you lose weight from the top, down. And ive found it to be true in my own weight lose.
Basically you'll notice a difference in your face first, and then your top half, then your bottom. For me, my face experienced a huge change, and then i started getting smaller up top, smaller arms, now when i lose weight im mostly noticing a difference in my stomach and thighs. I think that our bodies will sort out the weight and where it goes, so i'd say definitly dont let your thin face deter you from losing weight.
Good luck :)

I dont lose from the top down, I lose from the outside in. Face and feet (yes feet), ankles calves wrists and forearms, etc. I end with boobs and belly. I'm like the reverse of popeye.

Your face will fit the rest of you when you settle in. My sister is very heavy and has a thin face - it doesnt get thinner when she loses.

I agree with everyone else I loose on my face first! Its the first thing people notice. I also gain on my face first. I am sure it will even out. Plus you can always gain a little back if you truly don't like how you look, :)
