Choosing a Goal Weight

okay ladies, i am having some troubles choosing a goal weight.

When i first started losing weight, i was at 165 (and probably a little higher, but 165 is what i decided my highest weight was going to be lol). My weight had gotten down to 148 at one point, but then yo-yo'd back up to 160. So at this time, weight loss seemed impossible (cuz i felt like i would always go back up).
So i set my goal to be 130 Ilbs. What seemed like an impossible feat.
I was also aiming for a size 8 pant, which at the time my size 12's were tight and so 8 seemed like an amazing size.

But right now, i am sitting at about 139 Ilbs and am wearing size 8-9 jeans. Now that im here, 130 doesn't seem very low, and size 8 jeans aren't too satisfactory.

Should i reset my weight goal and make it lower? I'm afraid of making it too low, because i'm afraid that i'll get wrapped up in always wanting to be one size smaller, and never be content with my body.

i'm not satisfied with the size 8 pants, but i dont know how to decide what size is good enough and such.

How do i choose a new weight and pant size goal?
or should i just wait until i reach my original goal, and see how i feel?

There is a whole sticky thread on this over at the maintainers forum. Most of them said their ultimate goal weight sort of picked them. Keep losing until the effort to lose (and maintain it) exceeds the benefit of being just that much smaller. Go read that sticky thread too. It seems a lot of the ladies yo-yoed around a bit to figure out that final weight that their bodies seemed to pick.

I'm one of the ones who had a changing goal weight. I set it at one weight, lost ten pounds more and am happier there.

FWIW, on the shape question, I upped my strength training after reaching goal (I was doing some during active weight loss, but not a lot) and I've seen more changes to my shape since goal than I did when I was losing. I got smaller during weight loss, but I've gotten shapelier from the strength training.

The sticky bindersbee mentioned in the Maintainers Forum is a good one.

I origionally picked my goal weight for a person of 5'2" but have learned that I am actually only a smidgeon over 5 feet. Like many people have said my weight just kind of settled where it wanted. I am in a normal range for my height and feel good and for sure look better.

to be honest, i've never even been into the maintainance thread (never felt like i deserved to be in there, since im not at my goal :P)
