Kitty- I am trying to find ME time too...annnnnnnnd so far its still not working lol
Its 9 am, ive been up since 6, im tired. This is my everyday. Im so sick of it already.I need a change. I hate working in manhattan. I just wish my boyfriend would be more proactive in helping me to plan out our next move. Im getting so frustrated. We share a small studio with his best friend, who is a slob and smokes inside.I am ready to lose my mind. Any of you ever read "dont sweat the small stuff for women?" Well, I have been reading it and its a great book with good advice. Im trying to listen to the advice the best I can... |
I still work in NYC too. My commute is 1.5 hours one way. big drag. But I carry the health benefits for my family. That's what keeps me in NYC.
I keep my eating in check last night, so that's good. How's everyone else doing? Dagmar, I don't know of any specific books that I can recommend. When I was in college I read something about getting compulsive eating in check. The writer, in her quest to change her habits, let herself eat anything she wanted whenever she wanted and put on much weight satisfying the verboten urges. Then she ate well and controlled b/c "it was out of her system." It was interesting reading but I've been there and done that it was not the success the writer had! Allison, what's going on with your treadmill- did it get fixed? |

I agree about the programmed work outs. They are rough! |
4:30 isn't all that bad. It sure beats doing it outside in the dark, though! I tried a cross training workout this morning and managed to put in the whole 30 minutes but only did 5 minutes of the jogging part. Every time it increased the speed I had to adjust it back down again. Taking a few months off of jogging was not a good idea!

Now I "live" in Staten Island. My commute each way is about an hr. While it is less, I have to deal with so much more crap and I still come home every weekend to get away from my bf's roomate. Im ready to get a new job, move to PA where the cost of living is about 1/2 and call it a day. |
I'm up for a weekend vigilance thread... I have a party tomorrow night and I'm studying for finals, and studying always makes me want to eat! I'm also really stressed, and need to go into work this weekend because my supervisor thinks I'm working too slowly so I need to get more done. *sigh* I'm excited and upset at the same time about going home next week. Honestly, upset because I gained weight and I don't want to go home like this, but I have to let that go and I dont know how.

Iris That's one of the major things that :tantrum: bugs me - "let it go". Lots of people/publications say it but no one ever gives a concrete method for actually doing it.
Jersey & Kitty You both work in Manhattan? To me that's "WOWEE!!! - a dream come true. Every time I go to NYC I feel like I could live there forever. But of course I'm going as a tourist and I always find I'm ready to go home after about 6 days :p. I think it's wonderful to live in Manhattan if you have a gazillion dollars but very hard for those of us whose last name is not Trump. Allison I usually wake up about the time you're starting your workout. I can't imagine exercising that early - I need about an hour on the computer and a BIG cup of tea before I do my thing. Glad your DH fixed the treadmill for you - sounds like you're getting some great workouts! Dagmar (weekend warriors R Us) |
