How about having a Featherweight challenge?

Hope I'm posting in the right place.

What do you all think of having 2 lb challenges? This being the first one ;)

Please join in; it'll be fun and motivating.

SW: 117.2
CW: 117.2
GW: 115.2

It's similar to the 5 lb challenge in Chicks Up for a Challenge. But, since we are all Featherweights I thought it would be more realistic for us.

betsysunqueen 07-25-2008 05:43 AM

I'm in! I need something to motivate me.

SW: 121
CW: 121
GW: 119

Going below 120 will be a HUGE psychological boost for me, as I've only done it once before in my adult life (and I only maintained it for two weeks that time).

Zima 07-25-2008 05:46 AM

Okay.

CW:120
GW:118

Let's do this!

lunabella 07-25-2008 10:12 AM

I'm in!! I'm still relatively new to the site tho and am not familiar with the challenges. . .how long do we have?

CW - 141.8
GW - 139.8

Man it would feel so good to be back in the 130s!!

Taurie 07-25-2008 10:19 AM

It's whoever loses 2 lbs first. Being featherweights that may take a while. lol.

The winner gets to start the next 2 lb challenge. I'm so excited you've all joined. This is great!

Kofarq 07-25-2008 10:47 AM

Taurie, what a great idea! I know I'll probably never win a 5lb challenge on the regular forum. I think the last one took only 2 days! Right now I'm at a plateau because I just started weight training, so I know I'm stuck for a little while!

I'll join in; the last time I weighed myself I was 111lbs but I will wait until tomorrow morning to post my "official" starting weight for the challenge.

Sunday it will be a week from my 20th birthday, so I am hoping to leave as many pounds as I can in my teenage years!! (Doing it the healthy way, of course :))

iriswhispers 07-25-2008 12:49 PM

Sounds great!

CW: 130.5
GW: 128.5

This may be a tough time... I have two dinners out this weekend, but I'm always up for a challenge and maybe this will help me to keep my appetite under control at the Olive Garden! =)

nakedmango 07-26-2008 08:47 AM

I'm in too! Great idea.

I am SOOO pumped to get BELOW 110lbs......don't know how long it will take since I haven't hit a real plateau yet, though.

Good luck everyone!! :hyper:

I'm actually up one as I had a cheat meal out on Friday. Couldn't say no to eating at Claridges. So I'll probably show a drop by Wednesday.

Kofarq 07-27-2008 11:42 AM

I'm up by 2, because I went running (kinda) for an hour, so since I'm going to do this a lot more, it'll be a week before I lose any weight again, I figure. I'd been doing an hour on the stationary bike, but haven't seen this kind of gain so far. I'm eating like a champ, though! --- GROWR!

I don't understand why you would put on weight from running.
In any case, good work with your diet. :carrot:

The scale showed 138.5 this morning. I am not optimistic about winning the 2-pound challenge, though. The scale first showed 139.5 a week or 10 days ago, so it's not too surprising that I lost again, since I have been exercising regularly and not eating too badly. So it should take another 10 days or so until it moves down again (and it will in all probably move up again before it moves down past 138.5).

I have a question! I think it's an awesome idea, afterall small goals are attainable...but do we have a time limit or at least a weekly/monthly 2lb challenge? Just simply because it seems we might have a never ending thread otherwise :D

I don't think it's never ending. Some are half way there! My guess it would take a week or two for the challenge.

CatR 07-27-2008 05:17 PM

As I understand it, whoever can post a 2-lb weight loss first gets to start Featherweight Challenge #2. Our current weight at that point becomes our new starting weight for the next round.

This is what I meant. Because although some people will lose their 2lb I'm sure overall they want to lose more than 2lbs, so there could be the NEXT edition to their 2lb weight loss. Like measuring their whole journey in twos!

HudsonHawk 07-28-2008 08:54 AM

Weighed in at 147.25 this morning.

Zima 07-28-2008 09:21 AM

I did it! I won! 117.8 this morning! Down from 120. Where's my prize? hehe. Oh, I guess starting a new thread is my prize?

lunabella 07-30-2008 11:38 AM

congrats zima!!!

bargoo 08-06-2008 10:20 AM

I guess I an the last one to cross the finish line , but I did it!!

Start 7-25 at 123 lbs
End 8-04 at 120 lbs
