 mercermom. I am sorry - I was very, very hungry the first week or week and a half, but then that got better. So hang in there.

I wish someone could explain to me why some days like today it is super easy for me to stay on track, but other days are such a struggle :?:
I have not been very hungry today - what a Godsend.

Happy Monday!! :rolleyes::rolleyes:

The wedding I went to yesterday was a lot of fun; I actually didn't end up wearing my "goal" dress, but another newer one that I hadn't worn yet. Either way, I fit into both a lot better now and it was nice to get all dressed up for once! :) I ate more than usual at dinner but did not STUFF myself which was good, and even though Sunday was my "day off," I went for a walk in the morning just to move a little.

My dad showed me several exercises to do with and without equipment/weights on Friday at the gym, and I am STILL sore.... I'm excited to get started though!

Loveliam 06-30-2008 09:32 AM

Good morning gals!

Kimberly- I am happy you had fun at the wedding. I admire the determination you show in your exercise commitment.

I am doing very well :) This week I will weigh in on Thursday morning before we head out on our trip since I won't be able to weigh myself while out of town. I have been walking, walking, walking!

MercerMom 06-30-2008 11:52 AM

Thanks for the encouragement Silverstar and Leigh!

I did go over my cal for yesterday, but I feel great this morning.

I feel revived, probably because I know DH will be gone all day I won't have the pressure to eat what he eats.:D

I have exercised and eaten a fairly good breakfast. I just can't seem to get in all the protein I need to. I love me some carbs, goes back to my old WW days of fat free.

Well if I could just get up a little earlier I might have more time for more exercise before my early riser toddler gets up. That's going to be my plan for tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good strong willed day!

Silverstar33 06-30-2008 12:29 PM

Good morning girls,
Kimberly, Leigh and Mercer Mom - I'm happy to hear you're all off to good starts today!

I don't know why, but I woke up this morning with so much positive energy, thinking about how a new month is starting and I'm going to kick butt.

It felt great to put together a fitness plan for the upcoming month. I can't wait to get some more results.

For whatever reason, it occurred to me this morning that my wedding is less than ten weeks away. It seemed so far away.. then BAM! Here it is!

We're having the ceremony in Italy, and we have a few odds and ends we need to get wrapped up before hand. Probably time to get working on it!

Anyway, I hope we all start off on the right foot in July, and some of this recent motivation I've had sticks around!

chickenmonkey 06-30-2008 01:43 PM

Hey Mercer, This is a late response to the first post I saw:
I that can be so hard when pancakes are for breakfast!! But stay strong!
Response to second post I saw: great job with sticking to healthy breakfast and exercising!!!! Way to be strong.

Hi, Silver,
Response to first post I saw: If weekend freak out works than awesome. I have to force myself to do anything. So, I see that as an accomplishment. And speaking of accomplishments – awesome for you hitting your goal!!!! That’s a celebration!
Response to second: Hopefully your positive energy will continue!!

Oh Leigh, I wish I could explain it for you too. Cause if I could explain it to you then I’d understand as well. I wonder though why that is. I sometimes think it’s cause it’s not a habit. It hasn’t become a daily thing we do automatically and we still have to think about. But the easy days it doesn’t seem like we really have to think about you know? I don’t know it is that way for me at times. But be happy today is easy!!! Maybe tomorrow will be the same!

Kimberly, That’s so cool you have two dresses to fit into nicely!! Ah one day I too shall get there. For now… that’s a big congrats to you!!

Today I had planned to exercise and eat. So that meant for me to get up early. And when that alarm rang I so just wanted to lay in my nice bed. and I did for an extra 5 mins. Then I got myself up, ate and exercised. I was impressed. So, I have one goal for this evening. Get home, stick to my evening routine and do cardio. Here's wishing me luck.

Spoz 06-30-2008 02:02 PM

You're all doing really brilliant and I'm glad to see that you're all feeling so optimistic!

Mercer - you should try doing something with beans - they're fabulous for losing weight and fill you up very easily!

I'm doing okay still. For some reason I'm using up most of my calories by lunch time leaving me with about 200 for the rest of the day, but I'm sticking to my calorie allowance so all is well. I just need to concentrate on not eating 5 small meals by 12 :chef: I'm still fluctuating a lb or two up but I'm pretty sure if I stick it out I'm going to finally hit my goal :)

Loveliam 06-30-2008 05:11 PM

Mercermom- I am so happy that you are feeling revived.

Silverstar- oh where in Italy will the wedding be? That sounds wonderful to me!

chickenmonkey - WTG on sticking to your exercise plan.

spoz- maybe you need a bit more protein for breakfast to help tide you over more until lunch? Not sure . . .

Nothing new to report- just thought I would catch up while I can!

MercerMom 07-01-2008 12:15 PM

Good Morning Ladies,

Well my scale says I am down three lbs, but I don't trust it. I am just going to stick with two. It's all probably just water since this is my first week.
Tonight I am going to have some beans and see if that fills me up. Last night I had a chicken breast and an entire bag of steamfresh broccoli and cauliflower, I ended the day under my cals and I was stuffed.:D:D
Good Luck everyone!!!

iriswhispers 07-01-2008 05:16 PM

mercermom, who cares if it's really 2 or 3 lbs as long as they are pounds LOST? =) congrats on the loss, whatever the amount!

chickenmonkey, i am in awe of you for only staying in bed the extra 5 minutes! morning workouts are tough, or at least getting out of bed is. stick with it this evening!

silverstar, a wedding in italy sounds beautiful. do you have family there?

leigh, glad you're still walking... i'm sure you'll look great and have a fantastic time on your vacation.

since i have been monitoring my calories (four days) i've *GASP* dropped another pound!! which makes sense since i calculated to lose 2 lbs a week and 4 days is about half a week... only a few more lbs and i should be able to wear my skinny pants again - and that's some serious motivation for me!

Mudpie 07-01-2008 06:21 PM

Howdy mercermom

You and I are the same height and our goal weight is the same too! I'm so glad to see someone other than me think that 130 is very reasonable for our height.

I have been away kayaking for our long weekend. Lots and lots and lots of carbs and not a lot of other options available. Northern Ontario is not a good place to diet.

I will weigh in next week as I got home today and the food available on the road home was not so good. I feel like a giant loaf of bread!

I'm really looking forward to getting back into my routine, particularly with the strength training. It has already made a huge difference in my kayaking abilities. Hubby is a little afraid of this I think. I don't need to rely on him now to carry the boat or to tow me if there's a really strong headwind.

Cheers and happy 4th to all the Americans!

Dagmar  :strong:

Silverstar33 07-01-2008 06:49 PM

Hi Leigh,
The wedding is going to be in Venice. I'm really looking forward to it, we're taking the entire month of September off of work to back pack around Europe. Can't wait actually.

Work has been tough lately, and it has taken a toll. I don't know how everyone manages to keep the balls in air, and I don't even have children in the mix!

Anyway, I hope your scales are all being more pleasant than mine this week!

sznn 07-01-2008 07:44 PM

Happy Canada Day - Fellow Canadians!
& Happy 4th of July to my neighbors across the border.

Well I think I finally received the wake up call that will kick me into gear.
The snug clothes didn't do it - the # on the scale didn't do it....it was a photo.
Just saw a photo of myself that is none to flattering. The way I was sitting and the angle, accentuated my spare tire. I can no longer lie to myself - the spare tire is back with a vengence and I need to do something about it tout sweet!

I am going to try and make an appearance here more often - would love any moral support you can throw my way.
Just started a new job two weeks ago - and am overwhelmed and feeling
stressed. That actually might help me a little the stress removes my appetite.
I have to bring a lunch every day - can anyone recommend good clean food lunch suggestions.
I usually have a) salmon burger on lettuce
b) whole wheat tortilla quesadilla with turkey and mozza
+ fruit, veggies + yogurt.

Have a great day
-Susan

meggoat 07-01-2008 07:58 PM

I had a big party weekend and didn't gain weight but am feeling a bit discouraged as I haven't lost any weight in the past 7 days despite restricting my calories to about 1200/day (was eating around 2000) and walking a lot (30-60 minutes briskly - was doing nothing) each day for the past 9 days.
Today is first day I haven't walked but have a walking date tomorrow a.m. so I know I won't derail completely.
Any pointers?

Kitegirl24 07-01-2008 09:05 PM

Hi meggoat, it sounds like you just need to be patient.....I know it's hard, trust me! But your body is probably just adjusting slowly to what you are doing. If you keep going though, I bet your metabolism will rev up a little.

Welcome Susan!!

Silver, that sounds amazing!! I'm sure you'll have a great time :)

Today was so-so for me, but I know I'll be back on track tomorrow esp. with W2D2 of C25k....I'm having fun with it and it's not too hard for me yet!
