Weekend Warriors - Friday 18th

Ok, I know I need help this weekend...

The scale hasn't gone down yet this month and the month is coming fast to an end...

I need to be accountable this weekend...

Mudpie 04-18-2008 05:59 PM

Another 8 lbs for me . . .

. . .and ice cream season is about to start :p. I heard the tinkling of the  truck somewhere in the neighbourhood today.

I'm having take out tonite but it's Armenian food and I'm sticking to salads, grilled meat, and 1/2 of a pita. That shouldn't cause a lot of damage.

Taking the "big dog" out for a walk this evening too - 30 minutes :tread:.

And I'm right on track with my new workouts :lifter:/yoga.

Ok...I'm ready for the weekend! :D I've already had my 3 glasses of wine for the week so NO BOOZE for the next 3 days. :crossed:

Sending out some :dust: for the Weekend Warriors! :grouphug:

3fcuser1058250 04-18-2008 10:12 PM

No wine for me tonight either we are going out tomorrow night... I've biked and walked today, so some major calories were burned :D .... Food was good :D ...

batmomm2000 04-18-2008 10:52 PM

hubby works in the restuarant business so weekends aren't that different for me...but I managed a pretty good weight workout today before I headed off to a Tastefully Simple party where I did NOT behave!! Drinks and snacks but it really took place of my dinner so hopefully it won't hurt me too bad.

I've got 10mi on the schedule for tomorrow. I really hope I won't be resigned to the treadmill but that depends on dh...

Mudpie 04-19-2008 05:54 AM

Resisted "weekend whoopee"

Friday night and DH and I were watching Battlestar Galactica. I'm not as invested in the series as he is but am keeping him company through it's last season.

I really wanted to eat :o to stay awake and fend off boredom (5 minutes of a baby crying don't make for exciting viewing for me).

Had some grapes, instead of all the starchy carby things my brain told me I wanted. And I weigh 132 this morning!!

I really want to see that number on the scale on Monday so I'm SO motivated to stay OP.

I'm sorta keeping a short term goal of under 130 in view for the first week of May.

Morning!
This weekend could be 'all about health'! Dh is learning to use fitday, like the pt told him. I could make Ilene's pancakes. I'm on the hunt for freezer quantities of chicken and/or turkey. I've got flower beds that need me. I'd love to go to the gym for cardio.

And ... I think we're going to meet DS's girlfriends parents !!!! This relationship is making this mama very happy!

batmomm2000 04-19-2008 10:36 AM

sounds busy Susan!! I need to do some yardwork today too. And I may have agreed to build ds8 a tree fort :dizzy:

srmb60 04-19-2008 12:17 PM

And now, all of a sudden, we're putting in a water conditioner too. Could a dishwasher be far behind!?!

batmomm2000 04-20-2008 01:01 AM

damn there was just a 1am pig out attack, I'm pissed!

Tomorrow is a new day and I will need a good *** kicking but I will run and I will stop the crap.

Mudpie 04-20-2008 06:30 AM

Briefly lost sight of the goal

I had some problems yesterday. We went for our afternoon walk/snack and there was nothing except pastry/variations of same  at the coffee shop. Not our usual place.

Since it was hot out (for April) I had a skinny chiller instead of my usual tea. Compounded by a tea biscuit :o.

And we went out for dinner. Made the right appetizer choice and had a bottle of mineral water instead of a glass of wine. But the entree could have been a lower calorie one :(.

Will stay on track today as we're eating all meals at home and will hit the regular coffee shop for the walk/snack.

I like the positive spin Dagmar. I feel better today laready but seriously did I need to finish off the pasta leftovers AND the ice cream last night? Guess that's what I get for having it in the house LOL.

Today it is pouring like mad so looks like I'll be running inside. I do need to have a good run since those have been few and far between too and I have a marathon sneaking up on me.

iriswhispers 04-20-2008 12:32 PM

i'm just going to be a sunday warrior, because yesterday we celebrated my father's birthday and i won't go into details but naturally it involved tons of food. and not of the healthy persuasion.

batmomm2000 04-20-2008 04:40 PM

a Sunday warrior is good ;)

DS4's first day fo football was rained out so instead of running I went to my xtreme strength class. Kick my sorry butt hard. He decided today would be a punishing leg day. So def wont' even attempt to run tonight. I need to rework my schedule for the next 12 days to get some decent running in.

Eating has been good though. We are going out tonight but I left myself enough leeway to enjoy and be smart.

kittycat40 04-20-2008 08:15 PM

I am checking in Sunday night b/c I am out of calories and carbs and still nosh-y. Last night I did pretty well (or so I thought) pushed my plate away, quite satisfied. Then, bored (at dh's family reunion dinner with four crazy overtired little guys)-- I yanked that plate back in front of me and compulsively and guiltily finished it off. Thank goodness I had asked the waiter to bring only the very oily veggies not the potatoes. That and the gravy ladden more than 2 potions worth of pot roast.
Today, I am on plan and actually pretty hungry still. I'll go drink some tea and more water.

Thx for the will power dust. I'm going to use some.

I think you're a lot like me in that the exercise is something you actually have come to enjoy and it's not hard to motivate yourself :coach: to do it.

Unfortunately the eating is also something you enjoy :p and it's a lot harder to motivate yourself to moderate it.

Good Morning Warriors... WOW even checking in today - you are all so motivating... We had gorgeous weather this weekend which allowed for a lot of outside time.. Gardening and weed pulling (my "hams" are barking today.) Plus I donned the bathing suit for the first time this season.. ugh. Also transferred all the winter and summer clothes... Haven't ventured to try on my skinny shorts yet...

Friday night was not so good.. (drinks, pizza & ice cream)
Saturday was mediocre!
Sunday was good!

For a loss of .6 lbs over the weekend!

Lotsa swimming and running this weekend helped.... I'd like to cut about 5 more lbs before the race... :dust: and crossing fingers.

Thanks everyone for your support! I am so psyched - to have not gone up on the weekend!!!

dangerouscurves76 04-21-2008 12:42 PM

Hi all!

Just wanted to check-in. I managed to maintain my weight over the weekend and only had a few screw ups. :o At least I didn't gain...

Fri: stayed OP with diet, rest day for exercise
Sat: only 1 food slip (gf brought over mini-muffins), ran 4 miles, and had 3 glasses of wine (I swear I'm going cold turkey for the next 2 weeks!)
Sun: Back OP with diet, light stretching/yoga

Ilene: I couldn't resist the sinister whispers from the wine bottle! :frypan: I hope you were able to remain strong.

3fcuser1058250 04-21-2008 12:52 PM

 the wine gods also called my name this weekend  ...

The scale gods were not nice either :tantrum:

Yep, I have no problem exercising it's just a habit now, but the food, well, total other story!!
