Hi ladies

You guys sound like your doing so good :cp:. Not that I have been terrible but I could have done better today. DH wanted a big breakfast this morning so I fixed it. And tonight we had an italian cassarole (lots of cheese) :dunno:. I did do portion control though, and at lunch I almost said "forget it, I'll eat whatever" but I didn't. I thought of my "Featherweight weekend crew" and I had a boca burger and a small salad with ff dressing. So this thread is helping me .

I really don't think I lost anything this weekend, but I'm pretty sure I didn't gain either. I guess the scale will tell me tomorrow. I'll check in and let you know.:crossed:

Light Crab Cake Recipe

My day wasn't great... but could've been worse. I didn't go off the deep end, and get a 14mi bike ride in. I also managed to get some jelly beans and animal crackers in too...

Hopefully tomorrow the scale will be kind.

Here is the crab cake recipe:
1/2 c red ionion chopped (I used 1/8 c dried minced onions)
2 T chopped fresh parsleay ( I used 1T dried parsley)
3 T light mayonaise (I used 2T)
2 t digjon mustard
3/4 t Old Bay seasoning
1/2 t Worcestershire
2 egg whites lightly beaten
1 lb lumb crabmeat drained
1 1/2 c panko (divided)
Cooking Spray

Combine first 7 ingredients and gently fold in crab meat and 3/4 c panko (refridgerate for 30 or more minutes)

Divide crab cakes into patties and dredge in remaining panko

Spray frying pan w/ pam and saute on med heat until lightly browned on each side.

Enjoy! :carrot:

Edge of my seat

Can't wait to talk BF into cooking the crab cakes!!! Thanks for sharing.

Did good all day until tonight. Went to popular steak place here in town. Devoured my salad, only ate 1/2 of chicken, veggies (man I wanted a loaded potato), and 1/2 of my garlic bread. So hoping the scale is kind tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone and get a full nights sleep.... that always pleases the scale gods :D

:cp: Nixmom on the will power!!

I did some :yoga: tonight too :D ...

Mudpie 03-31-2008 07:43 AM

Thanks "Weekend Club"!

I lost a lb. and I think having all of your support on the weekend really helped me to keep it off. Hope to see you all, and anyone else who has problems on the weekend, on a similar thread next weekend!

Dagmar

Marathon Mom 03-31-2008 07:45 AM

Good Morning Everyone! Thank you! You all motivated me - and I did it! I managed to lose 1 1/2 lbs this weekend! I am so happy!

By the sounds of it, this 'challenge' inspired others as well...

Way to go! :) :) :)

Nixmom 03-31-2008 08:24 AM

We Did It!

Survived the weekend. I'm down .8 lbs! Almost a 1 lber! Still I am super happy with the results as I am at my lowest in a couple years and my body REALLY likes to hang on about 5lbs more than I am right now. Feel like I'm pushing a rock but I held it place this weekend :cheer:

Thanks to all of you, and yes, I will be looking for a similar thread this coming weekend as well. Maybe start Friday Morning?

Thanks every one and CONGRATS!:grouphug:

KC

3fcuser1058250 03-31-2008 08:31 AM

:woohoo: down a pound here too  ..... When I hopped on the scale this morning and saw the 1 lb lost I said out loud: "It CAN be done..."

Yep, the "Weekend Club" will come back next weekend starting on Friday ...

:grouphug: to everyone who participated ....

Just Deb 03-31-2008 10:50 AM

No weight loss here. But I'm still going to consider the weekend a semi-success. I exercised and did fairly well on staying in my calorie limit. Much better than the past few weekends.

Thanks for the thread Marathon Mom. Great Idea!

3fcuser1058250 03-31-2008 10:55 AM

Deb -- you MAINTAINED I think the aim for the weekend thread was not to gain when faced with challenges like going out and living outside the routine of the week ... You done good girl

abbyin 03-31-2008 07:54 PM

No loss but no gain this weekend. I think this thread is a good idea ;)

Marathon Mom 04-01-2008 08:42 AM

Abby and Deb - Great job...

I agree! This thread definitely kept me motivated on the weekend. I felt like I had a little reminder inside my head that kept me on the right track... Knowing if I overate I'd have to post the bad news...

Looking forward to this weekend and having everyone supporting eachother towards success!

dangerouscurves76 04-02-2008 03:26 PM

I am soooo proud of you guys!

I can't believe I maintained my weight over the weekend!

I am beyond late on posting my success from the weekend. Due to some family drama, I haven't managed to post since Friday!! :(

Friday, I managed to stay OP...not even ONE slip up! Sat. was a struggle. I stayed OP with my eating but had a major slip with the wine. However, when I woke up Sun. morning I got myself back on track. I ate a sensible meal at the dinner party and had nothing to drink. Not even a sip! I was soooo determined not to let myself down and to stay OP with the rest of the Weekend Club.

Marathon Mom thanks for starting this thread and to everyone who participated thank you so much for inspiring me. I can't wait for the next challenge on Fri.

Marathon Mom 04-04-2008 09:20 AM

New thread each weekend???

I'm in. Does everyone want to keep using this thread or would someone do the honours and start a new thread?

Dagmar :tired: (hiding from DH's ice cream)

dangerouscurves76 04-04-2008 09:32 PM

I don't see a new thread started so I'm just going to post here. I don't have too much planned for the weekend except dinner with the family tomorrow night. I'm starting off the weekend at 140.5 :yay: Praying I can stay on track!:D

Mudpie 04-05-2008 06:19 AM

New thread next week?

How about we continue with this thread for this weekend and then Marathon Mom starts a new one next Friday? Similar to what we're doing with the weekly chat thread. Easier to find specific posts that way with the shorter threads.

Men - Arrrggghh!!!

My DH  deliberately sabotaged me last night. He is not losing any weight and eating from stress and he wants me to join him.

And I have had a great amount of stress this past week  with my dad having to go in for surgery again and no one to do the aftercare. Finally browbeat my cousin (the doctor ferchrissakes) into bringing my dad home and staying with him Monday night.

So DH shows up with beer, chips, and ice cream. He bought two bottles "of your favorite beer" for me and got quite whiney when I tried to refuse. We argued and I finally caved after he started sulking and saying I was ruining the weekend.

Drank the two beers (I try to stay away from alcohol entirely as I know my willpower goes to zero) and got to work on the chips :o. Followed by pretzels :o. And popcorn :o.

I feel all "puffy" this morning :(. Today I'm back on track and I will just refuse any more "treats" DH brings. I will say that I did hang out and eat with him last night but am back on my diet today :carrot:.

You will be seeing a lot of posts from me this weekend I fear. I have to figure out a way to stop DH from doing this. Any suggestions on how to tactfully tell your sweetie he's ruining a week's hard dieting work with his "gifts"?

Thanks, and I can use all the extra :dust: anyone sends my way.

Dagmar :barf:

walking2lose 04-05-2008 10:38 AM

Dagmar - I just don't get your DH's behavior... forgive me for saying, but it seems a bit childish. Perhaps it's just a case of misery loves company, and he wants you to be his company! You have been so strong and determined.... dig in deep and do your best not to let him derail you.

My DH is a 14 year-old boy sometimes. He has redeeming qualities which is why I've kept him around for 12 years ;).

He jsut can't seem to get any self-discipline :dizzy: or organization going in his private life. All of his family are that way.

My family expected me to be an adult from the time I was about 8 years old :(. That has given me a lot of self-discipline and organizational skills. I just don't know how to teach them to someone else.

Dagmar  (the gym is ready!!)

Mudpie 04-05-2008 07:16 PM

Back OP today

Had a good day today, despite having to give all of my "old" furniture to Goodwill :(. Oh well, can't keep everything forever. And I now have a gym space!

Took DH on an hour's walk after dropping off the furniture. We stopped for a tea and I had an apple with it, instead of a cookie or other pastry . Set an example but DH isn't following it. He bought 2 large cookies.

Tonite we had chicken burgers on whole wheat. I only had one bun. We are going to a movie tonite, instead of sitting in front of the TV. Just a small popcorn and a water for me.

Have a great night all!

3fcuser1058250 04-05-2008 08:54 PM

Hey girls  been MIA for a few days because my g/f and I went to her cottage on Friday night had a crème brulé martini  one of her specialties, very rich... with munchies... drank wayyyyy too much wine, almost a bottle each  ... she made a delicious ww pasta with chicken, not bat in itself, but the rest :faint: .... Had a fantastic time though... Then today we shopped till we dropped, great time  ...

Tomorrow morning it's a run, the gym, and lotsa and lotsa wata

Next Friday we should start a new thread... I like the "Weekend Warriors" name ... I can start it or whomever is here first on Friday...

All you can eat brunch

:yikes:

The name in the title says it all. I'm staying with lots of salad, fruit, steamed rice and shrimp. It's a chinese place with fairly conservative food so the desserts table shouldn't be too appealing.

I'm having fruit for breakfast - melon and organic strawberries :)- so I won't be ravenous  by the time I hit the buffet at around 12:30.

Dinner is an eggplant & squash bake and I'm going to go prepare it now so I won't be tempted to go out for dinner or order something foolish :dizzy:.

Have a terrific day all!

Dagmar

Mudpie 04-06-2008 04:07 PM

All I can eat . . .

. . . turned out to be veggies and shrimp from the salad bar and one plate full of meat, steamed rice and veg from the main tables.

We were all yakking so much that I didn't even have time to cruise the dessert table. My dessert turned out to be a mint from the bowl on the way out, which a very nice lady offered me with a pair of tongs.

Now dinner and then another weekend binge free!:woohoo:

Dagmar

3fcuser1058250 04-07-2008 12:03 AM

Dagmar -- Way to go on hanging in there with your DH and showing by example... Keep doing it, without saying a word, and eventually he may catch on, but like a young teenager it takes time

Today was a good day, I jogged 30 mins, then met up with my g/f at the gym and we did 1h20 mins of core chest workout, OUCH!!!

Had my parents over for supper, had pork chops marinated in brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder and pineapple juice, with asparagus and white rice... A small piece of angel food cake topped with strawberries and a dollop of Dream Whip... The rest of my food day was good too...

Nixmom 04-07-2008 12:04 AM

late check in

Urgh! Not my best weekend by any means. Actually probably my worst 3 days in the last 6 weeks. But TOM is here... early... and no part of my mind or body is happy about it.

I just got on the scale. Up 5lbs. Unreal. Hoping a full nights sleep will ditch 2 or 3 since my weigh in day is actually tomorrow.

Hope you all did well. I am up for the new thread next weekend. But before I sign off.. gotta apologize for not being here much this weekend. Sounds like you were all on task and I promise I will be next weekend. Gonna practice for it beginning tomorrow!

Have a great night!

Marathon Mom 04-07-2008 08:50 AM

Ladies... Hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was not a success in the weightloss category. I am up on the scale about 3 lbs. thanks to birthday parties and mindless eating... However it's a new week... Time to think positive and drop those 3 lbs quickly!

I'll start a new weekend thread this Friday! Weekend Warriors is great! Thanks for everyone's support and :dust:

Nixmom 04-07-2008 09:23 AM

Up 2 Lbs

Mornin'

I am also up today. Mindless eating, no exercise, no water, TOM, what the heck was I thinking. Will be putting on a new attitude today as well. My goal for the week is AWARENESS about food, my body, my mood, and my exercise NEEDS. Hope you all have a good week, and look forward to a new thread next weekend!!!

Have a great Monday.

iriswhispers 04-07-2008 12:38 PM

the weekend went well until sunday night... then my family started to stress me out and i caved to the second helping of pasta. followed by frozen yogurt and cookies.

however, i this morning i weighed the same as i did last monday - 136 - so even though last night was a disaster i'm holding steady overall.

ilene i am a sucker for wine (and beer) and i don't usually drink fancy stuff but i must say that a creme brulee martini could probably tempt me! glad you had a good time... makes the extra calories almost worth it!

dagmar i don't think men really get a woman's desire to eat healthy and watch weight. at least not most of them. i couple of weeks ago my bf made fudge and insisted that i keep the ENTIRE pan. just because's he's thin and can eat whatever he wants... grrrr.

nixmom and marathon mom better luck next weekend - you can do it!

3fcuser1058250 04-07-2008 02:19 PM

I paid for those extra calories too... up 3 lbs also :tantrum: ... Onward and downward this week...

dangerouscurves76 04-07-2008 04:12 PM

tiny loss but it's something...

Hi all!

I had a decent weekend. I managed to stay OP with my eating for the most part. My red wine consumption was slightly less than usual. (Translation: 4 glasses instead of 6):o Hopefully, if the Weekend Warriors thread continues I'll get down to 2-3 glasses! So my big news is that over the weekend I loss .5 lbs! I'm finally only 1 lb away from my 1st mini-goal. :carrot:

Ladies: I wish you all the best this week. Stay strong! I know how hard it is to get back on track after a crazy weekend. And I also know how difficult it can be to stay focused after you've had a good weekend! Sometimes my ego kicks in and I start thinking that I "deserve" an extra snack because I kicked butt over the weekend.

Good luck everyone --- see ya again on Friday!

Marathon Mom 04-08-2008 10:17 AM

Yesterday was a good day... I ran 6 mi and did an hour of cardio boxing. I am down the 3 I gained this weekend... Time to get back on track and continue down on the scale.

Dangerous curves - Great job! (your photo is motivating me!)
