Wow, I drink a lot more wine than I thought
Hello featherweights! I post infrequently but read a lot. 2 years ago, I got down to 122 by exercising and counting calories in my head, but I've since creeped up to 130. My username isn't so accurate anymore!
The problem I think I had with counting calories in my head is that my head gets fuzzy after drinking a couple of glasses of wine! LOL! Now I'm trying to count calories online to keep better track of things. That's made me realize that I often drink 2 LARGE glasses of wine per night!!! :o One while making dinner, one while eating dinner. It adds up to around 200-250 extra calories. Cutting back on wine alone would get me on track to goal. Any tips to reduce but not eliminate wine? For those who drink a glass of wine most days, do you drink it while making dinner, while eating dinner, or after dinner? |
abstaining is the only way for me.
You might want to try using a smaller glass (no I'm actually NOT kidding). There are "cordial" glasses (yes, I'm old) that are quite a bit smaller than regular wine glasses.
I also found, back when I did indulge, that if I drank before making dinner there was usually a longer delay until dinner and I ended up eating waaay more than if I just had a glass with dinner. After dinner drinking usually meant that we killed the bottle. Dagmar (not giving up my diet Pepsi!!) |
I hope you don't mind me jumping in here, but life without wine is not worth living for me!
Measure your wine! A serving is 4oz. I drink one glass usually, with dinner. |
Smaller glasses and measuring the wine is a good idea ... I prefer to have my glass while watching tv around 8 or 9 pm...
 wine ! |
You could also do a wine spritzer(white) which can be less calories, and stick to only one small glass.
