Hey all!

Welcome to the newbies! I hate how if I miss one day on here I've missed a tonne of stuff! I read back a couple pages though, so I'm mostly caught up.

I have to say ChocoBroc 5 kids is A LOT (to me anyway, but I'm young and have no plans of having kids in the near future... and can't imagine having one right now.), so it's totally understandable that it would be difficult for you. Especially with the range in ages among yours.

Alright, I have a confession.

This has been a horrible week for me eating wise. And the reasons are pretty simple:
lack of sleep
stress
Since friday night last week I haven't had over 6 hours of sleep. I have a feeling my average is around 5 and a half. So I feel tired all the time, and my body just craves SUGAR. And then I eat a lot of bad carbs, so my body feels even worse, b/c I have like 30minutes of energy and then... nothing.
Ugh, plus I've probably eaten like a million calories every single day. I haven't been recording them, although I've still been recording the foods I eat.

I'm stressed out for my midterm tomorrow, and I had a bad Wednesday because I had to find people to take my shifts at work next week so that my Friend can visit this weekend, and my brother can visit the next.

It's been so draining.

Anyway, sorry to unload here. I just hope that tomorrow my measurements are a maintain of last week's because I definitly can't hope for a loss.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! That is so awesome!!! I'm an avid swing dancer, ever since I started losing weight. I do lindy and west coast and LOVE it. I'm even good at tricks now, like sliding through your partners legs. I'm hoping to join a performance team soon.

It takes me a long time to drop a pound now - it seems I go about 1/4 pound per week - so much different from when I was much heavier.

You've inspired me!!!

2frustrated 03-16-2007 04:53 AM

Yuppie Girlie - swing dancing eh? Sounds FANTASTIC! :D

I'm nicely tired from kickboxing, but not too tired.

I have a day of sitting at my desk planned today, then I'm going to get to the gym probably, hopefully. Then I'm going to go food shopping and get a load of grub for some nice recipes I found online yesterday when I was looking for an apple jam recipe.

Scales seem to be on my side at the moment, which is nice :) we shall see what happens tomorrow... :crossed:

Good morning everyone! weighed myself this morning and lost another pound, I'm very happy! Just waiting for the snow storm to arrive. The only thing that stinks is I will have to drive home in it. Everyone have a great day!

Jiggles81 03-16-2007 06:30 AM

I just weighed in here at work (we do a biggest loser contest) and I am down a total of 10 lbs !!! That is only 2 for the week but hey I'll take it :)

srmb60 03-16-2007 06:52 AM

Good morning! I did OK yesterday. Now today is gonna take some work. I'm going shopping with my sister, so I'll have to be careful at lunch. DH and I are taking our nephew out for supper at McDonalds ... so I dunno. I do not like McDonalds at all.

But I am going to enjoy shopping.

alinnell 03-16-2007 09:14 AM

Blue Sorry, no rain in the forecast.....guess you'll have to get the hose out!!!

Jane Did your son play at the tennis gardens? Did he say what a fantastic place that is? The weather was awfully hot, though.

Cats tongue you need some sleep. it will help with the munchies (step away from the fridge!).

Yuppie girl Wow, I just noticed your ticker. 102 pounds! That's incredible. Have fun dancing.

Jen glad the scales are in your favor!!! Mine, too, but probably only temporarily. I didn't eat much yesterday. Saving up for my dinner out tonight!

lpgoad Congrats on another loss!

Jiggles81 10 pounds! Incredible!

Susan have fun shopping!!!! Think of all of us while you're out and pick out some cute spring clothes!

Hope I didn't forget anyone (I probably did.....my bad).

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning,

I meant to pop in and say hi but my 2 year old is having a screaming fit over basically nothing...Oh thank god she got over it. It comes and goes. She has reached the age of great loudness. I have to buy earplugs.

Still my brain is basically mush. All I can think is 5 kids...one of you has 5 kids...

I really can't think. Had a weird run and before I ran I ate one of those cliff bars which had too many calories... but I think they put amphedamines in them or something I feel so wired. Maybe I'll go do a workout video to try and get out of this funk.

ChocoBroc 03-16-2007 12:24 PM

Hikerchick just imagine your 2 year old's tantrum while the 8 and 10 year old are having a obnoxious argument about the door being either open or closed and the 12 year old having a "preteen" drama episode because she's not allowed to go to the dance this weekend and the 3 month old screaming because she has gas on the belly!!! This is typical for me...

I'm just thankful that my 3 year old is over her tantrum phase and she is actually my easiest child now.

clvquilts 03-16-2007 03:25 PM

Here's a small before and after picture while I try to figure out how to post them into the body of an post. I'm thrilled with how much I've lost off my upper arms. Can't wait to show them off this summer.

YuppieGirlie 03-16-2007 03:45 PM

I have to say.. ."ONLY" two pounds in a week?! That's an amazing loss of 7000 calories. Think about it - 3500 calories is a pound, 7000 is two. You ran a deficit of that m any calories - it's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!:carrot:

BlueToBlue 03-16-2007 06:55 PM

Jiggles, two pounds in a week is awesome. That's actually a very healthy rate of weight loss, I don't think you want to be losing any faster than that.

Carolyn, you look fantastic! Your upper arms really do look great. I love the shorter hair, too. And I'm so jealous about the swing dancing; I love that music and wish I knew how to dance to it.

Susan, I'm with you on McDonalds, except I do have to say that sometimes their yogurt parfait or soft-serve cone come in handy as a nice treat. I don't know how this could be, but I can't find any place else nearby that serves soft-serve.

ChocoBroc, I totally remember having those types of obnoxious arguments with my sister. My mom must have wanted to strangle us sometimes. At least there were only two of us. And I'm right there with you on the stiff drinks--well, wine at least, but that plenty stiff enough for me these days, sad to say--and I don't even have any kids. Tonight I'm trying a Dulce de Leche 60-calorie pudding from Jello for the first time. Yum! I'm ridiculously excited about it. I had to sneak it in the house though because my SO has instituted a ban on all Phillip Morris products (Jello is owned by Kraft, which is owned by Phillip Morris).

greatchoice 03-16-2007 07:03 PM

Good afternoon. 2 more nights and 2 more overtimes and then I'm off work for 10 days!!! :D

I don't remember who said they were eating pudding cups because of kids but may I suggest mixing up some margaritas and filling up those pudding cups??!!! :s: :sssh:

Allison-He didn't mention playing there. I think they were playing at Palm Desert HS. He played at the gardens (Indian Wells right?) last year for their league finals for about 3 days and it is magnificent! Isn't the Pacific Open going on there right now though? I know they have all those tennis courts outside around the big stadium but didn't figure they'd let them use them during that but you never know.

I am going to go out and do a little shopping and then back to bed for me. Hope you all have a great weekend. Jane

Congratulations on the weight losses, lpgoad :goodscale and Jiggles! :goodscale

Hi to YuppieGirlie. What fun.

My dh is one of those "Real Men Don't Eat Quiche" types, so no partner dancing for me! I dance with the children!

Btw, 4 here, very spread out ages and each one a completely different challenge from the one before! :faint:

Good thumbnail pics, Carolyn.

McDonalds - my dh takes us there (family) and I order an additional Happy Meal so there will be another toy. Usually, if I ask, they will be sure to give a different toy. You can ask for milk instead of cola, and you can ask for apples instead of fries. Obviously, I don't really count on this meal, but at least I can sit and have milk and apples, eating with my family.

I feel remarkably optimistic for someone who has nothing to report! Gettting in lots of good veggies. Temperature changes have me swinging between stews and fruit salads. Wish it would settle.

srmb60 03-17-2007 06:07 AM

Nephew decided he wanted pizza ... Dairy Queen for dessert was my idea. I must be good today!
