Your Personal Thoughts of the Fat Smash Plan??

Hello Everyone!

I know that's a hard question to ask because everyone has a different opinion of each plan, but I would like maybe some pros and cons of this lifestyle. I work with someone that did this plan for the first phase and is still practicing some of the principles and losing weight quite well. She also said it has helped with her cravings. I have been on tons of different plans, but I also realize that I don't always stick to a plan so well. What are your thoughts on the Fat Smash? The good and the bad? Is it easily a plan to remain on for life? Cost-wise...any more pricey than other plans? Also, is it alot more work in terms of meal preparation? When eating out, what are some on-plan meals to eat? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm just really curious! I'm on the wait list at my library for the book, so I'm just trying to get as much info online about it.

Thank you all so much!

Have a great day!!!

My experience so far has been wonderful. It seemed pretty easy to follow, but I have made adjustments in each stage. I am currently on Stage II. Stage I I added bread and cheese on the 5th day. I still limited the amount I ate (2 slices bread, whole wheat and 1 slice cheese a day). I didn't eat it everyday though. Same thing with stage two. I have added one more slice of cheese and items such as fat free sourcream and whole wheat tortillas. Stage I ended with a 16.2 pound loss and Stage II so far has given me a 5.6 pound loss. I have been on stage II for 7 days now. I still have two weeks to go.

It is very simple and easy to follow. One of my coworkers has gone out to eat. She had a stir fry meal at a chinese restuarant with no noodles no chicken for Stage I. It is also one of the least expensive lifestyles or diets that I have picked up.

Anyway, no to rattle on too much, but I hope this helps. I have lost a total of 21.8 pounds so far. It has been 16 days. I do expect however for this to decrease to 1 -2 pounds by the time I reach stage three or four.

Thank you so much to your responses on the Fat Smash Diet. I wish you both the best! Sounds like you are doing incredible!! I think what appeals to me about this plan is that planning doesn't seem like it will be too intense and sounds reasonably inexpensive! I'm still waiting on the book from the library, so until then, I'll just keep reading into it on this forum. Thanks again!

Hi,

I have found this plan has taught me to eat healthier. It has been successful for me as well. I was eating a lot of junk when I was doing Weight Watchers mainly because I was eating frozen WW meals & eating out a lot instead of cooking healthy veggies and eating fruit. I used to eat out 2 -3 meals per day every day of my life for years so I guess this diet is actually saving me money because I am forced to grocery shop. But buying a lot of fresh fruits & veggies can definitely add up as well. I don't care for the frozen or canned ones that much. I used canned or frozen fruit in my smoothies but everything else is fresh. In the days I have fallen off the wagon into old habits, I have made sure I kept my calories within the range for me. That is something I have always done on WW and FS - track every single thing I eat so i know what I am consuming. That way when I hit a plateau I can look at my diet and see what I can do to shake it up a bit. As far as planning my meals, I definitely have to do that in advance so I don't get up one morning and realize I have nothing to take to work to eat. I get everything ready the night before when possible. I usually take apples, grapes & strawberries to work for snacks because they are so easy. I am not a huge fan of leftovers so I rarely cook veggies or anything like that to take to work. On occasion i will steam some broccoli in the mornings, cook my brown rice at work and add a little soy and have that for lunch. When I went to Phase 2 I only added meat in once per day because in my old life I never ate meat twice a day anyway. If I feel the need to have dessert or bread, I just take one bite of someone elses...I never have my own because I know I can't trust myself with a a whole piece. I hope this diet works for you. You can learn to tailor it to your needs quite easily, especially have you get past detox and Phase 2. If nothing else it taught me to eat healthy, eat every 3-4 hrs and drink tons of water. Take care and good luck. Lem

I love this plan! I never go hungry and still lose weight. I eat mostly from phase I with a little phase II here and there. The best thing about this plan is you are not just losing weight, but gaining a healthy lifestyle and improving so much more about you than just your dress size. I eat small portions every three hours and it really works. At least one of my meals is always salad and I eat 3-4 egg whites a day to be sure to get enough protein. I mess up sometimes but I get right back on track quickly. This plan is very forgiving and easy to follow. I do alot of excercise and follow Dr. Ian's advice on busting through plateaus by increasing cardio and decreasing portion size. This is the first diet I have ever tried, but I try not to call it a diet because it really is a lifestyle.

Welcome and good luck!
Sarah
