for the phase one, does it need to be brown rice, did anyone use white rice?
The book says no white rice at all. It on the list for the not allowed foods. My first time on Phase I, I didn't use any rice at all but now my second go around I eat it every other day because it is very filling.

I have learned to love brown rice & now prefer it over white rice, which isn't allowed if you want to follow the plan correctly. It is much better for you plus if you shop labels you can find it with fiber.
I use the boil-in-the-bag brown rice most of the time since it has 2 grams of fiber per serving which is more than the regular brown rice I have. I have learned to boil it longer than it recommends to get a softer rice. Even the quick cooking stuff I recently purchased had more fiber than regular so if you don't want to go with brown rice because of cooking concerns, you can use these easier versions.
Oh good I was curious if the boil in the bag versions were allowed. I made some brown rice the other day, took 45 minutes, and I'm kinda scared to try it. I'm not much of a cook so I do not know if the long cooking version is for me.
