Pickles
Okay is a pickle a vegetable. A cucumber is so if it's pickled it should be, correct? I know this sounds stupid but it's the small things like this not outlined the book that are confusing me. HA HA!
Also the sweet pickles would they be okay to eat as well! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!^: DAY 2 and going well so far:dizzy: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I came here just to try to get a tidbit of info on Fat Smash and I can't tell you from the perspective of the Fat Smash Diet but I can tell you what I know about pickles.
Pickles are awesome but they have a lot of sodium. I would caution using them too much as your vegetable choice. As for sweet pickles, they are pickles that have sugar added to them in the pickling process. I avoid sugar myself so I stick to dill pickles. |
Sodium was the first thing that came to my mind, too. And I figured sweet pickles had sugar added. I know the calories aren't much but a lot of sodium can make you retain and if you're on detox I'd say to stay away from pickles because of these additives.

Pickles have negative calories. as in it take more calories to eat then than they have in them. but as the others said, there is alot of sodium in them, and that can be just as bad as calories.

I just watched the Diet Doctor on FitTV (taped it), and it was about Weight Watchers. She actually suggested pickles as a food/treat & she didn't mention sodium.
My take is that if you're eating something high in sodium like pickles you should up your water intake to wash it out of your system. I might be picking some up at the store next time! |
