Fat Smashers Weekly Support 10/23-10/29

Good Morning!!

I am so psyched this morning. I woke up with an "I am gonna lose this weight"
attitude!! I guess I slept really good or something.

I am so close to onederland. I can do this! And everyone one else can too!!

We are here because we want to lose weight, right??
Well... we have the plan and the support. The rest is up to us. I am tired of NOT staying on plan. I mean I went through 36 hours of HARD labor!! I am not a weakling. I don't think we give ourselves enough credit. Sure.... I love pizza, but not more than myself. I think that has been a big problem for me. I gained the weight and in the process... I lost my self-esteem. The more I gained... the less I thought of myself. But, NO MORE!! I am going to hold my head up high and know that I am WORTHY of a healthy lifestyle. I am doing this for me and my family.

Okay...I have motivated myself to have a wonderful, and healthy day!

Sherry

I started a weigh-in thread. Y'all can post your weigh in there. Just weight in on your normal day and then post it.

krystlewv 10-23-2006 09:46 AM

WOW! What a post to read first thing of a morning. Talk about motivation.:D I have the same attitude about food and self-esteem. I lost myself when I gained the pounds. Not anymore, I am motivated and getting healthy for myself and for those smaller jeans! Have a great week Sherry!

Good Morning Smashers,

I am new to posting on this site but I have been visiting everyday and reading everyone inspiritional posts. I started smashing on 10/02/06. So far I have lost 10 lbs which is a great success for myself although I know If I really applied myself as far as working out regulary, I would be seeing greater success. Well Shae 8230, thanks for your motivational words today and you are right we CAN do this!!!! This diet isn't that hard and now I find myself looking forward to eating salads and veggies that are tasty, I wish they were more options for eating out.

I cheated this weekend. I attended a friend's baby shower and there was my fav cake, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting so I ate a piece. So now starting a mini detox today.

Goals for this Week.

1. To workout at least 4 days this week.
2. To stop the late night snacking.
3. Find more tasty yet healthy alterantives to snacking.

Good luck to everyone this week on us reaching our goals!!!

I will succeed.:carrot:

Good Morning, I'm new!

Hi, I'm very new. In fact, I'm starting Phase I today. My husband brought home the Book on Friday. Some of his coworkers have lost weight on this plan. He knows that I've really been struggling since this summer. I'm a Weight Watcher Lifetime over goal, but can't seem to get back on WW and stick w/it. I keep starting and stopping meetings, and wasting so much money. I read most of the book, and I'm impressed. I'm looking forward to this detox as I have been eating so bad, and I know I'm full of so much junk. I was on the net last night surfing for a good site where I could get support on the new plan, and I was motivated when I came to this site. I'm excited about this journey. I want to lose 30 pounds for sure.

krystlewv 10-23-2006 10:16 AM

Golden Lover GOOD LUCK TO YOU! This is such a simple easy plan. I almost done with detox and its been a really good experience for me. Keep coming back here, its helps.

Crystal, everybody that I mentioned it you told me that I would not last. But this is my last straw. It really is. One particular lady works with my husband has lost 50 pounds, and she says that it is very doable. I'm holding my head up. I'm prepared too. I went food shopping last night, so I'm ready.

Fashion Nelle 10-23-2006 11:06 AM

Welcome GoldenLover. I too am new to the site and ! found it very helpful and it gave me lots of ideas and tips especially the recipes. This is a very doable Diet. I am now on week 3 and so far I cheated only once. Good luck and welcome!!!!!

First of all :welcome2: to all the new smashers!
Ok I am finally feeling better after that awful sick. After only being able to keep down broth and herbal tea for almost week I started phase 2 and boy was I happy to have some meat and cheese and cereal! A little to happy :o . I did 4 days on phase 2 and I am going back to phase 1 today for another 3 or 4 days because I really overate! I don't know if it was because I went without solids while being sick or just a lack of control but I did not do well! On the up side the scale still showed a 1/2 lb loss. Not great but better than a gain. TOM is here and surprisingly I haven't had the usual monster chocolate cravings. I am ashamed to admit it but I bought a pack of M&M's on Saturday, but I ate like 5 M&M's and they didn't even taste good to me so I threw them away! DH actually asked for the spaghetti made with squash for dinner tonight. He really likes it! I am getting very creative with the veggies, and trying things I never would have thought I would try and liking them and so is DH! I have my first appt. with the sleep specialist tomorrow to begin the sleep apnea testing. I have to drive almost 50 miles just to get there and I hate driving! Plus I'm a little nervous about getting lost because it's in an area that I haven't been to in over a year but hopefully it'll be ok.
Someone please kick my butt into gear with the exercise. I didn't do any when I was sick and now I'm having a hard time finding the energy to do it at all. Well I gotta run. The little one needs a snack and nap. TTYL

I'm on my 5th day and have not felt hungry or gotten any bad urges. Today was the first day I was able to get up early (for me - I'm a night owl), although we have roofers working here & maybe that helped get me out of bed! We had some bad storm damage and are trying to get our house back in order. Two rooms were pretty much destroyed. They'll be like new when we're done so I keep reminding my husband of that when he gets down about it. It's just a lot of work trying to find the different contractors to do what to them is a small job.

Sherry - I read your post on the other thread about your son's curly hair. My son also had curly hair (only one in the family) and I let it grow past 12 months. When his own doctor thought he was a girl when she walked in the room I decided it was time to cut his hair (he's 23 now). I cut off the curls and his hair was completely straight after that.

GoldenLover - I did very well on my first bout on WW and the 2nd time around I started going to the meetings but I didn't like them. Only good thing was the weigh in but I could do that at home. Phase II reminds me of the Core plan. I lost when I first started Core but kept losing & gaining the same pounds because I was going overboard with the allowed foods. I just couldn't go back to the figuring & journalling with Flex. On detox I'm averaging around 1200 calories daily. So when I get to Phase II I'm going to be using Fitday to keep myself in check. To me, Fitday is easier than Flex journalling.

Sherry -- GREAT attitude. I woke up on the same side of the bed this morning!

Crystal -- we all musta shared a good dream last night!!! :)

Nelle -- way to get back on track! CONGRATS on your loss thus far!

dweeb -- no excuses!!! :carrot: way to get back into it!

GoldenLover -- :welcome3: Welcome and good luck!

Timmy: I think I got your cold! Itchy ears and sore throat sound familiar? I may go home early today (boss is out). And WTG on the M&M's! My DW and I did that this weekend -- we bought a package of Halloween Pumpkins -- our fav. They tasted horrible so we threw them away!

Judy -- I don't own a home but good luck with the contractors!

As for me, my birthday lasted a WEEK. But I am back on plan as of yesterday. I went food shopping and we're planned out til Friday and on plan! Happy week all!

GoldenLover 10-23-2006 12:20 PM

Judy, it's good to see so many WWers here. I like WW, but for some reason since I made lifetime back in 2000, I have never stuck with it again. I hate to have to keep paying them when I'm a lifetime member. But yes, I am over my goal quite a bit. I'm thrilled that this plan may be my answer. The husband's coworker, who lost 50 in FatSmash says that it has been very easy for her, and she had been overweight for some time. I'm just thankful that my husband brought me the book on Friday. He say that he's going to help me thru this. He took me to the grocery store last night and told me to get anything that I wanted. Not that he doesn't let me do that, but it's the fact that he's supporting me with this.

shae8230 10-23-2006 12:40 PM

GoldenLover~:welcome2: That is good that your dh is supporting you. That makes a big difference. My dh is actually doing the plan with me. He has lost 32 lbs.

Jenn~ It is good to see that we are all so motivated! :D No wonder it felt kinda cramped in my bed this morning...you were on the same side! lol.

Judy~ I was afraid of that!! No one has called him a "she" yet. But, it won't be long. I want to get his Christmas pictures taken before I get his hair cut.

timmyshawn~ Glad you are feeling better. Here is the kick in the butt that you requested....:kickbutt: Now... feel better??

Fasion Nelle~ :welcome: Congrats on the 10 lbs!!

dweeb~ Hope you are feeling better. :) Yes.. you will succeed!!

krystlewv~ You will have to let us know when you get in those smaller jeans. Have a great week, too!!

Gotta go lay my little man down for a much needed nap. ;)

Wow! I love this board! It is so uplifting! I really needed to read these posts! I am on Day 8 of Phase 1 and ready to weigh in on Wednesday!! I am so excited. My DH hid the scale from now until Wed because I was weighing myself at least 2x a day!! LOL!

I agree with all of those who said that this was the final straw for me! I have tried WW also and never succeeded. I had lost so much self esteem that I felt there wasn't a diet out there I could do well with!

I think I found it now!! Thank you for all of your great motivation and support!
Julie
