Pretty sure it's all discretionary -- if you're full stop.
I agree, these amounts are the maximum you can have, so for example, no more that 2 cups of brown rice.

Well said. Think of it in a CR context -- the less you're eating the better the results will be as long as you're fueling the body enough to kickstart your metabolism. Also, the whole point of the diet is to change the way you eat/lifestyle a/k/a shrink your stomach. If you're full that's great and stop -- but the amazing thing about the FSD is that you don't have to be hungry as long as you eat the proper foods at the proper times. It kinda sucks at first for a couple days, but stunning how quickly your body adapts.
Thanks! I stopped eating it all. It was waaaay too much.
That being said, I think you have to make sure you are eating from all of the food groups.. so you can't just NOT have the rice/oatmeal..

Are you sure about that? I thought it was completely discretionary as long as you keep to the schedule. I'm not positive but don't brown rice and oatmeal contain gluten (which some people are allergic to). The line from the book that sticks in my head is "eat as much or as little as you wish" -- and nothing would fall within that guideline. Is it possible the Extreme version mandates you include certain groups?? I'll check it out over the weekend based on sheer curiousity.
