how many times a week do you weight yourself??
:dancer:Hi My name is Colleen. I did FS in the fall and had great results(with a lot of excersie i might add). I had a baby last may and was able to lose about 15 lbs on FS. I stop around thanksgiving and ate what I felt like and then after new years started to diet again-tried a few other diets but now i am back at FS. I have 7 lbs to go to goal and would like to lose that by april 18 when I go on vacation( a little soon would be nice since i have to get a bathing suit).
This time around I won't be excersing so much because my DH is working alot and it is dark sooner-no walking after dark. So anyhow my question is how many times a week do you weigh yourself? And for someone with so few pounds to lose do you think it will matter if i only get in 2 or 3 walks a week but can make them 1 hour instead of 30minutes? Thanks for your input and support! Take care Colleen 150/131.5/124 |
You know your body better than anyone
I weigh myself twice a week. Once, on my official weekly weigh-in and sometime in the middle of the week to see if I need to be more careful with my food or exercising.
Have you considered checking out some exercise dvds from the library or buying one and exercising at home? I understand your concern for safety since I have been a victim (twice) of assault. I know that exercise helps period, whether you have 100 lbs or 10 lbs to lose. I think, it would also help your body heal from having had your baby recently and just help you feel better in general. I am not familiar with that diet or food plan but if it worked for you before, that would be encouraging to try it again. Maybe, while the DH is at work and the baby is napping, you could exercise. I can tell you the one benefit that exercising does is increase your ability to handle stress (physical and emotional) and it will increase your stamina, which you will need in the months to come with your new baby. Good luck! |
I always weigh myself once a week, same time (or as close as possible). I try to refrain from weighting in anymore than that because of weight fluctuations depending on water, what I've eaten, etc. For some people, weighing in can make or break their day, and I don't want to do that.
I also don't want to become obsessed..(i know I would if I did!) |
I weigh twice a week - Monday and Friday. Kind of arbitrary. I don't know why. I tried giving up the scale to once a month and I couldn't go that long, but every day is too much for me.
I second Pam's suggestion of DVDs. The library usually has some, and you could always buy one or two. I'm a recent convert to Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds series. She has several different length ones and they're good for a quick and easy cardio workout. Good luck! I know how it is with babies...I've got three! (Well, they're not all babies - 6, 3, and 1.) I have a scale addiction problem....lol, but I'm not joking. I seriously have a problem trying to stay away from the scale for a single day - which is not very healthy I might add. Once a week is healthy, most people I know, well actually most people I know DON'T weigh themselves, but the ones that do, do it once a week. I am starting Day 1 of Smashing tomorrow. I read in the book you are supposed to weigh yourself Day 1 and then stay away from the scale until Day 10.... this will be a HUGE challenge for me. Hopefully, I can do it. Hope that helped :)
