Fat Smashers/Extreme Weekly Support 4/30-5/4

Hello Everyone!!! Wow today is the last day of April! I can't believe how fast the month has gone by! How is everyone doing? I'm still chugging along slowly with Phase 2. With the exception of eating some spaghetti last night. I couldn't resist. I hope you all had a great weekend. It looks like we have a couple more newbies! :welcome3:

Well here's to another week of Smashing. Good Luck everyone!!!

Scoutieout 04-30-2007 04:22 PM

I lost 0.6 lb. on week 2 of Extreme, but I am still at it with day 3, week 3. I keep rereading the paragraph where Dr. I explains how your body has a set weight and is fighting to keep the pounds you are working so hard to get rid of! I am seeing changes in the mirror, so that is keeping me going. The past two nights I haven't been making the best choices for dinner (kind of stretching the meals to include a few extras), so I am back on track today. :)

I'm on C1, Day 5 of EFS. I am loving the plan.

I had a handful of Pizza Goldfish crackers, but otherwise have been completely on plan. I am looking forward to an evening of rest (switched Day 4 & 5, due to an event I had to attend yesterday that was no conducive to the Day 4 menu) but will probably try to get in 30-40 mins of cardio anyway.

I expect I will lose 12lbs, if I stay on track for the 21 days. Which would be a good start to my spring.

Wow - day 6 of C1!!!!

So far I am really liking this! 12 lbs since Day 1. Before you stomp all over that, please know that weigh-in on day 1 was late in the day, fully and heavily clothed, as compared to today---me naked on the scale 30 seconds after waking up. Not scientific, I know, but STILL!!!! Not counting the clothes, water weight, and the fact that I've been known to fluctuate 5# in one day, I'm still very impressed with myself, eh? It's gotta be at least a 5# loss, right?

I can't say I'm looking forward to C2, as the food is pretty boring. Definitely not hungry. Haven't been exercising as much as I should due to various ortho problems and work considerations, but I plan to keep building on that.

What is changing, what I am focusing on, is that mental shift from food as entertainment to food as fuel. I'm trying to view it all as something my body needs right now, like medicin. The lack of pleasure in looking forward to a meal is more than a fair trade for the weight loss so far.

I know I will need to shift again toward viewing the food as food, cooking, etc. but I really, really needed this jump start. And I want to continue so that it lasts longer than my usual yo-yo history. I cannot look at the total amount that needs to go, because it just doesn't seem real to me, like I can really do it. But I can, and will, shoot for another 5 lbs.

Anybody else have a similar experience with wrangling your head into the game? I think the mental part is so crucial.

Ok, so I have to edit my weight tracker. I started at 200, but my goal was 188 as that represented my WW 20%, and I wanted the weight tracker in 10 lb increments. Not too good at this emoticon stuff, or whatever it's called....

rachinma 05-01-2007 04:12 PM

Chip: I just made a commitment to myself that everything I put into my mouth with be deliberate. No convenience foods. No mindless snacking while watching TV. No "quick bites" while out. No samples at the grocery store. I weigh or measure my food. I know this is what works for me. As soon as I deviate and start "winging it", the weight packs on.

I eat more out of boredom than pure emotional eating, so I realize it's easier for me to make that commitment than it is for some others.

Good luck!

ChipChump 05-02-2007 01:05 PM

Ok, now I really have to change my tracker. I weighed in at WW this am, and the loss was 8.8 and not 12. (I am on WW, but doing FS to get it going, since I've been climbing up and down the same 15 lbs for 3 years). At first I was depressed, and then I thought -- hey! 8.8 is pretty dang good! So on to the next goal, a new week and cycle 2.....

Tinky009 05-02-2007 01:29 PM

Chip- Congrats on your 8.8 lb loss!! Remember every little helps!!!!! Good luck on your next cycle!

Hi all I am so excited about EFSD I am doing well and needed to share it. I am on C1 D4 hanging in there. I had a bite of a banna but thats all I have slipped on. I use my snacks since I am on my feet all day to help get me through and so far I have not been hungry or lacking.

rachinma 05-04-2007 12:06 PM

Bad day yesterday. I didn't get my exercise in *at all*, and as a result, sort of self-sabotaged. I ate a whole bag of microwave popcorn at 10pm! In the grand scheme of things, not that huge of a deal. But in 8 days, it was the first time I ate "off-plan". At least it wasn't an ice cream sundae, right?

Back on plan today. And weighed myself this morning and hadn't gained anything as a result of my mini-binge.

Honey Bun 05-04-2007 12:16 PM

You still did good girl! Just add in some extra exercising. Like an extra 30 minuets of walking. You could have done worse and ate a whole meduim pizza by yourself and some cheesy bread...........mmmmm....I can't wait to have bread!

rachinma 05-04-2007 02:33 PM

And, corn is whole grain, right? ;)

Hi all...

I am back for another round of FS. I have gained 20 lbs in the last 5 months!! My eating has gotten out of control. FS is the only thing that works for me. So... here I am again. Phase 1, here I come. I need to stock up on phase one friendly foods. I have been smashing off and on for the last day or so. But, it is hard when you don't have the right foods in the house. I am waiting for payday to buy groceries. That is Wednesday. Until then, I hope you all don't mind if I hang around and chat with you all??

Hi Tinky!

TTYL,
Sherry

Tinky009 05-05-2007 06:15 PM

Of course Sherry!!! I was wondering when you were going to come back!

Honey Bun 05-07-2007 11:02 AM

Good luck Sherry! Yeah make sure that you buy all the foods you need. Because yesterday I wanted to cheat so bad but I had no food to cheat with so I didnt........even though I cheated BIG time on saturday. But now, I am back on track and ready to go!
