Anyone doing Weight Watchers on their own?

  • I can't afford the time/money for the meetings and I have all the materials I need to do this. So on 1/1/06, that's what I did. I'm doing the Core program right now and was wondering if anyone else out there was doing something like this on their own. And wondering if it is possible that it can work.
  • WW and Gunner
    Jackay,
Yes, I am doing WW at home and I use Gunner's tapes all the time. I love them but they really kick my behind...literally. He's so encouraging,"get on up here, I'm not doing this alone, come on now!!" I do a lot of different tapes and programs becuase I like change in my workouts. I do have my favorites and a lot of CORE tapes are always on the agenda.
Let me know how you're doing. I would love to watch our progress together.

  • I am just starting again
I live 1hr. drive from nearest meeting so I quit I had lost 55lbs. you notice the word had. So going to join this board get out my books and get back with the program. I do the points program.
Maybe with God's help and some hard work I can get it back off, as my knees don't like this weight.
    God Bless

  • Weight Watcher at home !
Hi, I also am doing weight watchers at home. I am very new to this web site however, so I am not sure how much help I can be. I have a lot of questions in regards to this site, but I'll learn.

I went to meetings a few years ago and lost 93 lbs. Left there and maintained for a couple of years, but began gaining this past year from medications, eating, surgery, in-activity, you name it ! LOL. So I am just now beginning to get with it on WW only at home this time. Hopefully this will work. I need to stay on this as I have health issues I must deal with. I really believe it is possible to do at home without meetings. It's a process of learning the plan, then doing the plan. Take one day at a time, and never feel guilty about eating ever again. A slow process, but very rewarding I must say. I was told once to start 1 day and get through that . Then the next day is new, get through that. So on and so on! That is how I did this the last time. A little exercising is good also if you are able. Hang in there it will work.

  • I'm also doing WW at home. My mom is a lifetime member so she just taught me about it and gave me all the info. I never once paid for a single meeting. I've been on WW since June and it's the first thing I've ever tried to lose weight. Looks like it was the blessing I needed.
  • would like to try WW at home
I am moving soon so I don't want to join a group. I have lost over 45lbs before and keept it off for a few years. Then slowly over two years I have let is creep back on. I have dieted for many years and know what are good food choices. Not exactly sure how the point system works. Do you have any advice?
  • I am actually doing this where I work. We asked WW to come there but they wanted at least 18 of us to join and for us to pay 12 weeks up front (EACH)!! We refused and decided to do this on our own. We weigh in each week with our nurse. We put $1 in an envelope and the biggest weekly loser gets it. We also give $ to a partner and that friend holds it until we meet our personal goal. Then we get our own $ back. It's working. I'm running the morning meeting and someone else is running the afternoon meetings. Many of us have done WW before. We're all sick of paying. We're supporting each other.
  • Hi!

I am doing WW at home, too. I went to the first meeting then the second week I really didnt have the $11 to go to the meeting so I decided to go every other week. Now I have decided to just do the online membership or the Etools, I havent decided which.

Does anyone know what the difference between the online membership and the Etools is? The only difference I can see is about $15/a mo. The online membership is like $30/mo and Etools is $15/mo....
  • I never tried etools or regular meetings before...so I'm a bad one to answer. But just wanted to welcome you! Sorry I've been away this long. Got caught up with work and kind of forgot I should be reporting here too in my free time. LOL!
