Also new to the site - recently adopted - 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Weight Loss Community

Hi!
My name is Steph, and I am new to the site. I've also struggled with weight most of my life. My mom is overweight (and most of my older extended family is, also). My husband has also struggled with weight. We are Christians, and recently adopted our son from Guatemala. I think its the "pseudo" pregnancy symptoms, but I gained some weight during the process. I joined LA weight loss, and while its keeping me from gaining a ton of weight, it still isn't really helping lose weight. Thanks for the listening. The Lord has been very good to us, so I don't want to complain. We have been so blessed - I just want to be obedient in this area.

thaT IS SO COOL THAT YOU ADOPTED, IF I EVER HAVE CHILDREN, I WOULD WANT TO ADOPT. I AM A CHRISTIAN TOO, AND I KNOW THAT THE LORD HAS ALOT TO DO WITH SUCCESSFUL WEIGHTLOSS. I AM DOING WEIGHT WATCHERS, AND IT IS WORKING REALLY GOOD FOR ME. IT REALLY ISN'T HARD TO FOLLOW, SOMETIMES IT IS JUST HARD TO STICK BY. YOU HAVE TO JUST BREAK SOME OLD HABITS..MINE WERE EATING WHATEVER I WANTED. I QUIT SMOKING ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO, AND I HAVE GAINED EVEN MORE WEIGHT SINCE QUITTING. ON WW IHAVE LOST ALMOST 30 POUNDS SINCE STARTING. I WILL PRAY FOR YOU.CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW BABY

Good luck on your weight loss! I adopted my two children from Kazakhstan in 2001 and also gained weight! I think it's part stress eating for me and just waiting and waiting for the day to come when I could bring them home! Adoption is just a miracle!

Congratulations!

We are in the process of adopting our first children (two boys) through our state foster care system, and have our court hearing set for this Thursday (the 23rd)- yay!

I gained weight during the initial process (before we even knew of or had met the boys) with all the paperwork and classes and red tape and waiting- ugh. Major stress. So, I know where you are coming from!

But now, they are my main reason for wanting to get back into shape.

Congratulations to you, too Amber- adoption really is such a wonderful thing.

Hello, I'm new to the site and recently divorced. I first lost weight and then began to gain. It's like I just don't know what else to do. The days are long and lonely. I am on bld pressure medicines now. I'm just tired. I do o.k. for a couple of days, my lawyer did not cover all of the bases and my ex. will not agree to sell the house, then it all hit again. It's so hard to focus but I don't want to continue to gain weight. I have two girls to take care of. I plan to start the sonoma diet. I have to have something to keep me going.
