We had a huge thunderstorm during the night with very loud thunder and lots of lightening. That woke us up very early in the am before light, but I stayed in bed another hour as I was tired from all the walking. It cleared up during the day with lots of :sunny: and got quite :hot: later in the day. DH had an off day today but is feeling better now. I put a movie on for him and that helped raise his spirits. His bike has another flat so that didn't help matters, but I will get it fixed for him as soon as I can (this weekend or sooner, hopefully).

Eating went well this week; made wg spagettini and meatballs for dinner tonight; yesterday, we had l/o roasted chicken and veggies from last Sunday. Not sure what to have tomorrow -- we'll see; maybe fish??? Yes, that sounds good ... :) Did my walking to the lake tonight and talked to a neighbour about gardening for a while as well.

Finally figured out how to get my answering machine working on my telephones again so I won't miss any important messages. The home support worker called today and we have a meeting set for next Wednesday at 10:30 about help for DH for activities and other supports that may be available. It would be so nice to get something for him to do as he is getting so bored these days as he doesn't go far from the house anymore. It would be a great help for me too.

Hi everyone...Welcome to all the new comers. I went and gave blood today for the 2nd time . Afterwards dip stick here could not find her keys after bothering everyone for 30 minutes, I found them in a hidden department in my purse...geee... I was so embarrassed!
Hubby is doing alright, will be going to the doctor for check up soon. Have joined Outlook ministry again. Been keeping tabs on my saturated fat and I am loosing inches which is great to me ,just not much in pounds but that is alright ,mostly want to be healthy and in my line of work need the muscle. I been having to lift feed because hubby can not lift all that much with being sick and today he gave me a work out! Lambs being born running around like fire ants jumping and playing. Need rain seems like I am always saying that, someone should write a song about dry weather. Gotta go wanted to check in and always y'all are in my prayers.

I finally faced facts and went to my beautician and had her shave off the last few wisps of hair and this afternoon went to American Cancer Society and got a wig. ACS gives wigs free to cancer patients. They also gave me two scarves all this for free. I had plenty of choice in wigs and scarves and plenty of kind attention.
If you live in the US and know someone losing their hair due to cancer treatment, be sure and recommend ACS.

bargoo I donated my hair last November, miss it. was past my hips but hoped it helped someone. It is past my shoulders and when it gets past my hips again will cut to my waist this time again for cancer patients, will not take long to get there two more years.

BARGOO -- So glad the ACS gave you the wigs and scarves; I received three caps myself (one for sleeping). I found lots of scarves and liked to wear them too. My hair is quite thin right now but at least I have some and will have to have it trimmed some time in the future. Our prayers were answered in an amazing way about my hair; never expected to have any left at the end of my rounds. ^PRAYERS^ are going up for you daily ...

BOOTSIE -- so nice to hear from you again; sending up prayers for your DH and for some :rain: as that area will likely always need a little help in the weather realm. Those lambs sound so cute. YES, you do need to keep up your strength becuz you work so hard. My doctors don't want me to "diet" per say; I am just eating healthy each day like before (cutting out the junk; added in 3 dairy products daily as recommended; added more fruit: 3-5 a day for meals & snacks as recommended too). I have actually lost a few lbs and that is better than gaining for sure. I am also eating some jello each day to help my hair grow back in; I have to make sure I get lots of lean protein in for that as well. I wish I had cut my hair sooner to donate; so I will keep that in mind for the future too. You are such a blessing to others for donating blood and your hair too.

Ate well today; got my walk in tonight; and visited a neighbour who is alone tonight before coming home. I always put a movie on for DH before I go for my walk so he occupied safely at home with our furry baby beside him for company too. This plan has been working well for us. :D

Hello!

Well it's afternoon and I am at work, should be unpacking and programming stock that came in and here I sit on the computer, but that is one of the perks of being the boss!:D Actually I just finished up some paperwork, I am working the store by myslef today. Tomorrow I am working at our 3rd location. So far this week the eating has gone very well. Trying to keep hubby and I's blood sugar in check to hopefully one day to quit supporting CVS! He had a nerve test done Thursday. He has back pain and the front of his legs go numb if he stands too long, so the test came out ok, the MRI came out ok, so not sure of the problem, but since he has started doing physical therapy, and doing home exercises he says it's a little better, so hopefully with the addition of weight loss it will get 100% better! Hope you all have a blessed Labor Day weekend! Tammy:hug:

Tammy sounds like your hubby is doing better . It sounds like you are really busy! Congratulations on y'alls eating it is not easy as some people think it is. I have gave up my saturated fat eating and it is not easy, but the results are rewarding!
Rosebud thank you for the prayers , gonna need them this Labor day weekend. Hubby is wanting to cut hay, I just don't know if he is ready for that. That is hard work, so I plan to work outside starting tomorrow so I can watch him. Praying for you and your husband also. Sure do Love our furry friends we find so much comfort in them. Mine is sick today and me too we must of ate to much of a good thing yesterday! She eats what we eat except we did get her some dog food she likes but I did not eat any, so it must of been the fat free ice-cream????Ha! She loves fat-free ice-cream!

I have done good the last few days. I ate a banana for breakfast and a large salad with a boiled egg for lunch, and grapes for a late snack yesterday. Today I have drank coffee and coconut juice and had a boiled egg and bacon for breakfast. I even made cinnamon rolls for my teenage son and didn't touch any! Go me..

Justwant2Bhealthy 08-31-2013 09:50 PM

Glad to hear that everyone is doing so well; my eating went well this week, and I am so pleased with that. We had fish (mine with salad) yesterday and today I had bangers & beans with a salad. It is cooler today so that helped keep me warm. I went for a longer walk and met a new neighbour a block away; very friendly lady. Her husband had mentioned me to her so she was looking out for me tonight. She was very nice and friendly. Nice way to make new friends, I think. There are nice people around; I keep asking GOD to put them in my path ... :D

YES, it is a long weekend here, but the town is not very busy, and the streets were very quiet tonight (I think it was the cooler temps and cloud-covered skies). I did a lot of walking today; DH and I walked to the store earlier in the day to pick up a few groceries we needed. After dinner, I put an upbeat movie on for him and I went for a walk and did 3 full blocks becuz I felt good in the cool, crisp air. I am hoping that will help me get a really good sleep tonight so I am going to turn in early too.

Awesome!

Hubby and I had our weekly weigh in yesterday and we are both down by 2.5 lb. each! We are so grateful!! We are off tomorrow for a rare day off so we plan to enjoy it! Have a blessed day!

Justwant2Bhealthy 09-03-2013 10:15 PM

CC -- congrats to you and your DH; that is fabulous!!! :carrot:

We finally got a break from all the :rain: today but I had lots to do indoors today. Maybe tomorrow I can do a bit of grass-cutting; we'll see if the weather is good and I have time. Hope so. Eating is going well; and I did some awesome walking, esp today with the beautiful weather -- went to the lake for awhile and then around a large loop and back home (really had to push myself but I made it). :D
