Oh my goodness look at you!

I think I kind of really love your hair that length.

Renee3 03-19-2013 06:25 AM

Rosebud, the new haircut makes you look 20 years younger! Love the look! Continued prayers for you :)

bargoo 03-19-2013 08:59 AM

Rosebud, your short haircut is very flattering.

ronni62 03-19-2013 09:37 AM

Rosebud-I also love your new haircut! It does make you look younger, too!

Love the hair cut.

You look so pretty!! I wish I was brave enough to cut my hair, I use it to hide behind. :)

wilma12 03-19-2013 12:51 PM

I agree. Your shorter hair does make you look younger. Another thing I've noticed is that we would never see pictures of you and now here you are. Don't you love the new confidence? I'm proud of you!!! You look lovely.

Hello everyone!

So much is going on with you all and I try very hard to keep up with all the posts, but I'll admit I don't always succeed. But I daily rejoice with those who are finding success and pray for those who are struggling.

I just added a post to my blog I'd like to share with you all. Finding enough willpower is a daily struggle and this is a new concept that you may or may not find helpful. Please let me know what you think!

Blog Post: Willpower Dashboard!

The idea of a "Willpower Dashboard" .... huh?! Let me tell you what I'm talking about. You see, I just read this interesting thought in Reader's Digest and it registered so true to me. I'll quote it here for your consideration:

"Imagine it this way; In front of you is a dashboard, just like in your car. One of the gauges is willpower. When that needle is pointing to full, you are cruising along, ignoring all the fatty foods that make you heavy. But each time you're tempted by something and tap a little willpower to avoid it, the needle slips a bit. After a full day of denying yourself, your willpower is on empty - and that's why you go elbow-deep into a bag of chips. So a little indulgence - a cookie at breakfast or the occasional cheat meal - keeps that needle tending toward full and strengthens your willpower over the long haul."
[Readers' Digest, April 2012, page 156]

I know that when I stray away from healthy eating even a little I guilt myself so severely for failing that I stray "elbow-deep" making everything worse. I'm going to start allowing small indulgences, and not guilt myself over it, to help keep my willpower stronger...this makes sense to me!

THANKS EVERYONE ~ that's so nice of you all. Yes, everyone here says that I look younger too; and DH even said that I look like a kid ... My brother said the same thing as some of you did -- that he likes the shorter hair better, and he thinks that after the chemo, I should leave it shorter like this to give myself a break, as looking after that long hair was a lot of work.

I have to admit that I was indeed surprised when I saw the pictures myself. My doctor and oncology nurse said the same thing; plus, she is also a cancer survivor and decided to leave her hair short after the chemo. My BIL and my nurse said they thought it looked cute. So many compliments; and that is very nice.

WILMA ~ yes, since getting rid of that huge tumor, I feel a lot more energetic and confident becuz I was always so self-conscious of it. After so many years of being teased and laughed at becuz of my belly, it left its mark. It was my faith that helped me through all of that -- I kept reminding myself (and the Holy Spirit did too) that JESUS, and GOD, and my family & friends loved me for me; and that we are all BEAUTIFUL inside.

Sometimes, it was even hard for me to go outdoors, or for walks; I would feel so stressed and anxious about it. To tell you the truth -- sometimes I would wait til after dark to go out, and I know I am not alone in that. I would pray and ask JESUS for confidence from him. I say now "Let GOD be your confidence." For GOD loves us for who we are, and He knows all the wonderful qualities that each of us has on the inside as well as out. (Proverbs 3:26 -- For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken."

How strange it was that I awoke in the middle of the night with this song on my mind, and today we are talking about this subject (somebody needs to hear this, I think). There is a song that means so much to me concerning this subject, called "BEAUTIFUL!" Here's a link to it ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7C2o0jHNRuU

BTW, there is another song called "You're Beautiful" that was written about our LORD and us (his church); and it is beautiful too. Will post that one in the Prayer Warriors Thread with a request for prayer that my blood platelets go back up to normal (150) as I my chemo was cancelled this week becuz they were too low (only 60; they were 229). So we have to wait til they come back up and I have to take stronger iron supplement as well. THANKS!

bargoo 03-19-2013 07:37 PM

Another lovely song, thanks. Sometimes songs just come to me, some that I have not heard for ages, they always have some special meaning. I know they come from the Holy Spirit.

Good morning everyone...Wishing you all a very Happy Easter and stay focused on your health when you look that chocolate bunny in the eye :)

:egg: HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!! :egg:

 RENEE ~ same to you -- I picked up some mini easter eggs and will set them out on the diningroom table for everyone this year. When am I supposed to do that -- oh, I'm so out of touch ... Is it Sunday am or Monday???

We're off shopping this am; mostly groceries -- fresh veggies and fruit and other good stuff. We may pick up some dinner and have salad with that of course (probably chicken). I am doing well on the eating front lately, esp with the snacking -- yay!

I have been feeling really good this week (after chemo #2); and even went for a walk around the neighbourhood with DH and our furry baby yesterday. Still have to watch how far though, but I am so very grateful for how well I am doing and that my symptoms have been so mild so far. The weather has been gorgeous here -- 50 F and gloriously sunny. We have the same again today; and supposed to be through to past Monday, so the snow is melting fast ... :D

GOD HAS BEEN SO GOOD TO ME!!! Words cannot say or express how I really feel about His faithfulness to me. I am keeping you all in prayers too, and have a wonderful Easter Weekend with your family and friends!
