I think people of all different faiths face this issue at their own holiday times. There are a lot of threads about resisting temptation during the thanksgiving/holiday season; perhaps these will be useful to you?
I would suggest not resisting completely, but instead eat in moderation. Find the healthiest thing (lowest calorie) to be the bulk of your meals, and you can have a bite or two of the other dishes so that you feel like you're taking part in the holiday without feeling deprived.
