The past few days I haven't exercised, (or eaten anything really) because I found out a friend of mine who I've known almost my whole life committed suicide. It's a tragedy, and has majorly affected me. Please pray for strength, and that God will comfort his family and friends with a blanket of peace.

Thanks Everyone for you Prayers for my Dad. His first diaylsis treatment went well.

Glad it went well.

First, I have a praise that I was able to talk to my friend, Diana, yesterday and they believe the radiation has killed the cancer in her hip. Praise God for that!! She's still on chemo and still having lots of bad side effects from that though, so still asking for prayers for the sick, flu-like side effects of that to go away (she's been having these effects since Christmas).

Next, I have another request for my DH and situations at his work. Since we came here 5 1/2 years ago, there have been problems-unsafe practices by other workers that go ignored by management, favoritism by management (even to the point of less skilled and less senior employees getting promotions rather than my DH). In the last week, they had a person come in who's a 'mock OSHA' inspector and she listed out many, many things that would be violations if the real OSHA would come in (most of which my DH had listed out a couple years ago, because he has 25 years experience at this job). Now, management is ignoring the recommendations on what needs fixed, including having no fume hoods over chemical areas in the lab my DH will have to work in (it's a new construction being put up by a friend of one of the management's 'favorites'). DH also caught one of these contractors running plant equipment in violation of the lock-out procedures and union contract, but the 'favored' employee says he lets them do it all the time, which is very scary, as someone could get killed if they turn on something that's supposed to be locked-out. That apparently turned into something of a yelling match yesterday. Things aren't being done to code or contract and are being done by unqualified people.

So, after this long, yet not nearly inclusive, explanation, my prayer request is for safety for my DH, including his vehicle, as we've already had 2 mysterious flat tires, due to nails, on his car. It would also be nice if HR, who has been contacted on several occasions, would finally step in and remove a couple of the managers who are allowing this stuff to go on. In the other plants my DH worked at before this transfer, the offending 4 employees would have been fired 3 years ago, but here, the management seems to like the 'kiss-up' attention and atmosphere.

Prayers for all requests

Today my family and friends will be having our #4 Grandma Judi's Chili celebration. A time we set aside to honor and remember her and all of our loved ones that have passed on. We play games inside and out and I make my mom's chili and my family favorite and Angie makes her white chili.

Today will be a bit sad as my sister and her mil will be taking my bil's aunt off life support...Aunt Val was always a part of Grandma Judi's Chili Celebration and always at our house for holidays and bbq's....she will be missed!

What she is going through once again reminds us of how precious life is....we thank you Jesus that our life does not end here as we believe in you and what you did for us!

Aunt Val passed away just as family was gathering here for our get together yesterday. She will be missed.

GARY ~ :hug: to you & all your family at this time -- your family memorial gathering is a great idea. You & Angie are a blessing to your family; hopefully this celebration of life will continue perpetually ... :hug:

And I am sure the Grandma Judi Chili celebration will continue...we are already working on the kids moving our family traditions into their homes....although they still want them at my house because THAT is the tradition...then I explain that it is now but before it was at Grandma Judi's ;)

The date for the GJCC is never the same...I designated it a few years back to be a week or so after the Super Bowl...we make it flexible so most/all can come.

My brother in law's Aunt Val moved here after she retired 25 years ago...she has been a part of my family ever since...another reason to continue the celebration...after yesterday and knowing she will no longer be with us it increases the reason we do these things.

We are fortunate to have almost all of our family close.

Gary-I know you're probably gone for the week, but just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.:hug:

Update-my DH finally decided he'd had enough and has filed a complaint to the company's ethics board. Not sure if it will do much good, but it does come with the protection of them not being able to trump up some reason and fire him-he'll be considered a 'whistle-blower' and they would have to have much substantiated proof of wrong-doing to fire him. He'll be parking within view of the video cameras as well, to help prevent those mysterious flat tires.

GOOD NEWS UPDATE ~ PTL -- we got word this week that there has been some progress with our local plywood plant; a mediating team has signed an agreement to take over the plant. So, we are thanking GOD for these new developments. We will continue to watch with interest and continue to pray that everything will work out for the best for everyone involved. PTL again; and thanks for all your prayers for our town! :D

Rosebud-definitely good news!

Updates on my requests-Diana has had a bad turn. She has had a hip fracture and will be undergoing a hip replacement-don't know all details yet, but she's in one of the Mayo hospitals, so we know it's not a good situation. One of her sons is coming from New Mexico,so we're praying for safe travel for him and his family, as well.

On my DH's work situation, within a week of his ethics complaint, his plant manager is mysteriously being moved to another position/location and will no longer be in charge at the plant or have an office there. Wonder how that happened?? One down, 3 to go......

I ask for prayers for my Grandpa and Grandma. It's a complicated story but my Grandma has stage 4 cancer, and my Grandpa needs protection from someone who appears to think if he dies soon they will inherit a lot of money. I know, sounds dramatic, but it's true. Please pray for my Grandma's health and my Grandpa's protection. Thank you all. God Bless.

My brother is aiming on getting lazor treatments to get his swelling in his legs down, next week. I am so glad he has decided he needed to get something done about them.
My friend sister in law has lung cancer and has asked me to ask y'all to pray for her sister in law.

Asking for prayers for a young man, 26, that goes to our church. He is having some major heart issues and is in intensive care....his folks are dear friends of mine from church. His name is A.J., he has had health issues his entire life from under developed lungs at birth....a great kid.

-- Long-time family friend, Marian Maybee, has lung cancer on the outside of her lungs; and is getting chemo treatments right now.

-- My Dad (BILL) has diabetes & is trying to get his blood sugar levels balanced; seeing doctor tomorrow about Metformin pills to help. He has been feeling very weak & tired also.

-- Our Stepmother (GRACE) has been having dizziness, weakness, and lots of migraine headaches; will be seeing doctor tomorrow to be checked out for pre-stroke symptoms.

-- DH and I have a cold/flu that has lots of phlegm that keeps hanging on; could be a different one, but not sure.

Pastor said AJ was on a respirator this morning.....

My son has been badly injured in an accident - he was in a trauma unit for 4 days and then had an amlost 6 hour surgery to plate his pelvis. Please remember him in your prayers and meditations. He has a long long road to recovery.

I have a prayer request. . . my husbands job has been quite unstable. The place that he works is not run well not and him almost losing his job has become a weekly occurrence. Not only would we like for him to get a more stable job, but one that pays a little more too. I know this sounds selfish, but let me explain. . . . My husband and I just got married and we would LOVE to start a family (he's 25, I'm 24). At what we both make combined, we would not be able to afford to have a child at this point. I reaaally feel like having a child and being a stay at home mom is truly my calling in life. We'd like for him to be able to have a good paying job, with benefits (something that his current job doesn't offer, but thank God, mine does) so that I wouldn't have to work and so that we may be able to have kids. Thank you so much in advance for the prayers :)
