RONNI ~ Prayers still goin' up for your Dad and his treatments; and that he will find the $$$ he needs to pay for this all somehow ...
THANKS, KAREN ~ very nice song for this Remembrance Day; I also love the IN FLANDER'S FIELDS POEM by John McCrae but I'm partial as he was Canadian soldier who came from the city I went to high school in (Guelph, Ontario); but the poem is lovely too! I even like to sing it sometimes ... IN FLANDERS FIELDS by John McCrae (1872-1918) In Flanders fields, the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place, and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago. We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie ... In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch be yours to hold it high, If ye break faith with us who die -- We shall not sleep, though poppies grow ... In Flanders fields. __________________________________ |
Thanks Rosebud---I had never heard or read this before. Very nice. Thanks again for sharing with us. Hope everyone had a good day.

Thanks everyone for your prayers on tomorrows surgery.
Good news for your father RONNI!...well as good as it can be. |
Prayers EZMONEY to you as you go into surgery tomorrow!
I'd like to ask for some prayers for me as well. My family and I are going through some hard times that are a bit uncertain right now in regards to job situations and it's causing a lot of stress. So I'd appreciate some prayers as well. Thank you..I'm enjoying reading this thread. :-) |
Prayers have been said BRAT...glad you found us here! I hope your tummy is better today.
Thank you for prayers for me too...I am heading to the hospital very soon. |
Prayers for you Brat and Welcome!!
Gary, thinking of you and sending good thoughts and prayers your way. |
GARY ~ prayers continuing that your surgery was not only a great success, but also that the Lord will 'ease your pain', and that you will heal up quickly too ...
KAREN ~ glad you liked it; John was not only a soldier and talented poet but he was also a physician too ... when I was a teen, I was able to go see his boyhood home in Guelph, Ontario, Canada -- as it was turned into a museum in his honor. BLONDEBRITBRAT ~ prayers going up for the job situations for you and all your family. May the Lord give you all strength and peace; and help you to put all your trust in Him during this trying time in your lives ... |
Prayer up-dates ~
For my surgery ~ thank you all so much, I am healing very well....most of you know it was painful for a few days but much better now. I still can't do much but I am able to walk up and down the stairs and stand for as long as I need to if I want to cook or just walk around the house for exercise....not ready for the outside world yet! Up-date on my sister "ANNIE" ~ She met with the people that will be doing the radiation, I think they may start her next week...after just 2 chemo sessions...they said 6 weeks of Mon-Fri sessions of radiation...showed her where and concern that it is close to her heart. Her hair is falling out fast so she shaved her son in law gave her a buzz cut yesterday but the rest came out in the shower. I talked to her today for a long time on the phone (saw her friday) she wanted a very EZ stuffed cabbage recipe I have. Bless you all ~ Gary |
That sounds like a really tuff regime that ANNIE is going through; probably a good idea to just shave the hair off and get it over with: it will grow back in later on. ^Prayers^ will continue for her all through her treatments. Wow, she is up and cookin' already -- that's great!
GARY ~ Nice of you to share your EZ cabbage roll recipe with your sister. Do you have a place called M & M's down there? This place makes really nice homemade meals and flash freezes them, and for a decent price so you don't have to cook all the time. That would be so helpful to someone who isn't feeling great, just to give them a break; but some people (like me) like to cook and it gives them something to do to take their minds off things. I have one recipe where you shred the cabbage and put half on the bottom of a prepared pan; then top with your meat/rice mixture; then top with more shredded cabbage, and then pour your tomatoes/sauce over the whole thing; and bake as per usual. DH likes this version becuz he says he can chew it better than the rolls. It is called MOCK CABBAGE ROLLS. ^Prayers^ continue for a speedy recovery; it sounds like you are doing great, but don't overdo it now ... Rosebud  |
LOL ROSEBUD!! That is MY recipe for stuffed cabbage! So EZ!! Actually it is from my mom.
My sister has her good and bad days after the chemo treatments. She tries to get out and do something every day that she can....she knows that it is to her benefit. Short walks, short car trips. I think my nieces do most of the cooking but they were all going shopping and she needed to find out what to put in it. |
Here we go again...
My daughter in law fractured her finger and wrist in 3 places tumbling at the Charger game yesterday...she just called....home from her doctor...in a cast and out of cheering action for a few weeks at least... She will be OK...but...prayers please that she will be back in action for the Bengals game on Dec. 20th...the kids are paying for her mom to come out from Florida to see her cheer...she has not been able to yet. Thank you! |
Prayers for your daughter in law are ascending. Loved the picture. Sure hope she is able to be back in the game on the 20th.

Sending up prayers for your DIL that her wrist and finger heal quickly so her mom will get to see her cheer at Christmastime ...
We also had one sad bit of news today -- that our BIL (TOM M.) who has been having heart problems isn't doing well; recently, they went to see some heart specialists, and they said there isn't anything else they can do for him. We met up with his sister today and she says that he is losing weight now, and she expects that his time with us is limited, so we are praying for him for comfort and peace (and for his wife Denise too). I am so glad that TOM has been a believer for a long time and through this health crisis, his wife has drawn much closer to GOD and the LORD. Would appreciate some prayers for them ... thanks! |
Prayers being sent for Tom and Denise as they endure the pain of Tom's heart issues....issues I can fully relate to from my own family, mom and brother,....may our good Lord hold them both in His arms of comfort.
