Diet Bible Study Poll
I need help with a decision, but before I tell you what that is, let me preface it with telling you how God talks to me sometimes. I will have a thought, or an idea, then the thought or confirmation of the thought keeps crossing my path.
I have a diet in Flowers Over the Wall study -it's basically intuitive dieting- but last week my husband mentioned that eating too many carbs. can make you crave them... (not sure if this is a proven fact) but anyway, it got me thinking about the diet part of Flowers Over the Wall, it may not work for diabetic or people with special dietary allergies or needs. Then Bootsie and Pattygirl wrote on another thread that they were using the study, but not the diet. Then... I happen to drop by the intuative eating thread, and there was a woman who was questioning weather it was a good thing to just eat what your body tells you because she craves carbs... So here it is... Should I change Flowers Over the Wall, to just a companion diet bible study to ANY diet... Should I make the diet portion of Flowers Over the Wall a suggestion diet, (if you are not on another diet) Should I leave it the way it is. I am asking because the Bible says to seek counsel from other Christians. Proverbs 11:14; 12:15; 15:22; Thank you! Love, Kelli |
Gee Kelli I don't know! I do know that for me, the more I add cheese and tortilla chips for my nachos the more my mind, at least craves it.
I used to fast food a lot years ago due to being a single dad with 2 kids in sports, youth groups at church, dance and scouts. Fast food was an easy fix, I will tell you I was not or had ever been overweight. Fast food was not a big concern for me at the time. Over the years I did notice that I craved it! It took a while but I got to where it is very unusual for me to have fast food, except maybe working out of town from time to time...but rare. What I guess I want to say is if I ate what my body craved I would eat tons of cheese and chips and no fruit....don't think that is a good thing! Good luck in your efforts to figure this out ~ Prayers. |
Kelli - while it is good to ask others for counsel - go where the Spirit leads you on this.
While I am in maintenance, and thus not dieting, I have read a few of your posts and I do like the Bible study portion of your plan. Rock solid - good Christian principles, with Biblical support. Excellent stuff. So, maybe it would be beneficial to concentrate on the Bible study and let folk use their own weight loss plan. I can share that during my experience I used a Bible study called Faithfully Fit. It concentrated on Biblical principles and didn't touch on diet plans at all. It was very helpful for me. So, blessings with WHATEVER you chose to do - I know that you are helping many chickies here. Laurie :scooter: |
Kellie I must apologize I should of asked you first if I could use use your Bible Study with my exchange. please forgive me. I don't think you should change , if that is what Jesus laid upon your heart. Some who are on Doctor diets, diabetic etc..might just love your Bible Study because we have been there and want to do it with their diet because I don't care what diet you are on Keli if God is in the middle of it, it works, he is the key.Your Bible study is wonderful! Just follow your heart Kelli, you have helped a-lot of us chicks around here , that is for sure and thank You so much.

Bootsieeeeeeee,!!!
You don't ever have to ask for my permission for anything!!! I hope I didn't sound like I was upset. :o I just thought maybe the diet portion (which is only a few pages of the whole study) might not be right for all people. I am sorry, I was seeking wisdom from all you very smart people! You are just too nice!!! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: I just love that carrot! Thank you all so much your input, it has helped me a lot!!! I have prayed and also taking your counsel into consideration, And... with the confirmations I got previously... I think I will keep the diet portion, but have a paragraph or two which states: This diet is only a suggestion, any diet that works best for you is the one you should use. It isn't about what diet plan you follow, or what foods you do or don't eat. It's about understanding the power of God to help you fight the desire to overeat. Or something along those lines....;) Thank you, :thanks: Love, Kelli |
Thank You Kelly, so much. Is that your little dog?
