what has worked for me is not the typical diet routine, maybe you can try it too, for breakfast and lunch i eat extremly lean protein, and am very strict on my calories and fat grams, then at dinner i have the yummy comfort food, homemade spagetti w/meat and parmesan cheese, i eat raw fruit watermelon cantelpoe, pieces of turkey lunch meat breakfast/lunch, then at dinner you can have meatloaf & mashed potatoes, but a reg size plate, never seconds and never eating after that for the day, youll get used to it eventually
