Hi all it is a cold winter day here but the sun is shining PTL I don't do well when its not sunny SADS so the sun is always welcomed . :^:
Gary glad the prayer vigil went well thanks for your prayer Hope every one is having a blessed week . |
Gary - glad the vigil went well - thank you for your prayers!
Sue - I sure hope you are right about spring! This winter has been a strange one so far. Glad to have you back and that you had a great vacation :) Losin - it was really cold here too! We had a beautiful sunset over the lake. I caught it on the way home from work. Absolutely divine! Another OP day for me :) DH made supper, and I laughed so hard when he proudly told me the weights and calorie counts for all of the ingredients. It was so darn cute :D He certainly is a keeper! Blessings to all and prayers ascending |
Glad to see you safe and home AUNT SUE!
LOSINIT ~ Hope you stay warm! LAURIE ~ What a guy! We had almost 600 attend at least an hour of prayer during the prayer walk and vigil! Praise be to God! |
 HELLO EVERYONE ~ well, we had two more days of sunshine so I pushed myself to go SKI-WALKING, increasing my time by 5-minute increments each day (it gets easier each time I go out). I also had a good OP day; spent the day doing housework and laundry and such; just a normal day for around here.
HI SUE ~ glad you had a great vacation; nice to have you back! :welcome: FLY ~ there is a ED thread on 3FC's; maybe under CHICKS IN CONTROL: check them out. They may be able to help you; and would give you lots of support too, I'm sure. I think everyone binges to some degree; just eating too many chippies or cookies is a kind of binging. The thing is that those foods aren't really good for us and they don't satisfy or fill us up, so maybe we keep on eating them out of boredom or habit??? COUNTING made some good points. The other problem (bulimia) may occur from a feeling of being out of control; maybe trying to master smaller goals will help you towards healing: plus just making a decision to stop doing it becuz it isn't healthy or helpful, in the long run (if you can deter the binging, then you wouldn't feel so compelled to purge). I have friends (you'd be surprised how many) with this disorder and have seen them overcome this problem with prayers, support, and a lot of determination. GARY ~ thanks so much for all the prayers at your Prayer Vigil; so glad that everything went so well for everyone ... LOSINIT ~ we put florescent light bulbs in all our major light fixtures, and we find it really helps to brighten things up in our home for the winter. Well, that's all for tonight; off to have some tea, so take good care everyone; your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD:hug:^PRAYERS^ for you and yours continue ... |
Hi everybody! Do you mind if I jump in? I was reading some reviews on Weigh Down in another thread, and I thought I'd ask if anybody here has tried Faithfully Fit. It's not a diet. It's a 40 Day devotional. I bought it, started it, and then laid it down with a million other books I always plan on reading. :o But I've recently made a job change and now I work like most human beings - so I'm making a commmittment to read this through all the way. If anybody has done the entire devotional, I'd love to hear your experiences!

Hi all
Justwant2behealthy- I have florescent lights in the kitchen and bed room they help some. If the sun is shining I like to stand in the light , although this winter has been a little easier not so gloomy. EZ- Hard to stay warm with -18 below weather ,I lived in California when I was child loved it ,it was always sunny and warm , no snow no freezing cold weather , now I wouldn't trade my little corner of the world for any thing.I love the woods and seeing deer, moose and all the other critters. Countingdown- We had beautiful sunset the other night also,I have relatives in Mich been once for a wedding we drove from Maine about a 2 day drive.I couldn't believe the speed limit on the interstate is 70 we were doing 65 lol til we noticed the speed limit here in Maine it is 65. :wave:everyone else may you all have a blessed day ! GOD is good all the time , all the time God is good |
Good points!
Thank you counting down and justwant2bhealthy! I did a lot better yesterday just cuz i knew i was writing to you all and it kinda put some accountability in my life. My husband has no clue I don't think and he'd be upset at me if he knew. He doesn't want me ruining my teeth...plus he has so much self control. He's 6'2'' and weighs around 170lbs and that's the highest he's ever been! NOT FAIR! :^: I know I can't dwell on how lucky he is and focus on myself and keeping the naughty food out of the kitchen. I buy stuff just so I can throw it up. Isn't that terrible!! :o This whole losing weight business is harder then it looks. Good job on all of you for losing weight! I try to work out 5x a week or more but I hurt my calf somehow and that has slowed me down. :( I don't want to be slowed down! :)
I live in Modesto area and it's been a mild winter except lately it's been stormy. I'm from SD and I miss the warm weather! And the beaches! I can't imagine how hard it would be for me to go to the gym with a snow storm going on. Good on you guys! Take care and God help us be more healthy!!!! ;) |
Fly - sounds like you are making progress. Rosebud's suggestion is a good one. There are folk over there with much more experience with bulimia. And - I think that you will find that this weight loss thing gets easier as you go along. You kind of settle into a rhythm. You learn little tricks along the way. Really, the whole self-discovery process is kinda cool. When I have a bad day, I stop and reflect on how and why. Then I try to make sure that I either change my environment, or plan how I can react differently the next time. It only took me to age 50 to figure out that I CAN do this  Keep us posted as to how you did each day. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.
Losin - yeah - I love the 70 mph speed limit on the freeways. It makes traveling elsewhere really tough though. My car just seems to go 70 automatically. Jennifer - I led a Weigh Down group several years ago and I was successful in losing about 70 lbs. Faithfully Fit has great reviews. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I just clicked through 3FC to order it from Amazon :D Rosebud - if it EVER warms up again, I think I might just try ski walking. I still haven't gotten out Xcountry skiing yet. Best laid plans... Gary - that is awesome news on the prayer vigil! WOW!!! Good day today. I tried the "Sweating in the Spirit 2" video. I liked it better than the original. It had me sweating alright!!! It has a walking segment and a line dancing segment that I haven't tried yet. I'm thinking that they may be lower intensity than the aerobic section. Have a great weekend everyone :) |
Jennifer
Everyone is welcome. Have never heard of the plan. fly Can't really help you there. That really is something to see a doc about. I know it is an emotional issue as well as a physical one. Will sure give you all the support I can. I try to keep things out of the house that I will want to grab and snack on like sugar cookies and peanut butter cookies. I keep stuff in the house for everyone else that they love just not the things I love lol. If I want chocolate chip cookies. I have the hubby stop while we are out somewhere and I get one. ONLY 1, that way I can put it into fit day, be accountable for it and don't have anymore around to eat. Just Counting and I laugh about it too. Oh the wonderful videos I got in the mail. I have a mail angel ( knows who she is ) I really really enjoyed the ab one. Haven't done the other one yet. Oh my ABS muscles are sore and tired lol. Didn't look like it was going to be much but darn I did it twice and I am sure feeling it. I found the boosted mile are killers lol. I have to say I dated an assistant minister when I was younger. He is now a minister of a wonderful little church and a very good minister from all accounts. We were younger and there was talk of marriage in the air. The woman thought I wasn't good enough or " holy " enough as they put it for him. My gosh, they never saw him in the back seat of his Chevy at the picture show lol the guy had 20 hands. |
Good morning hope it will be a good one for you. It is a cold but sunny day here, is it raining in northern California read that some where , that they are getting a lot of rain. I have touch of spring in my kitchen I forced some petite daffodils they are pretty, Brightens the house up on a cold winter day.
Shy Moment  on the story of the pastor . To every one else have a great week end may God bless you richly . Rena |
Hi everyone! It's a lovely day here (for Winnipeg!!). The sun is shining and our cold spell is over for a while at least. I'm going to try to get out for a walk this weekend. It's hard to do that with all the snow we have but I'm going to try. Eating has been going well for me. I've been trying to stay OP and cut out those nasty salts again. I feel so much better when I do. Tonight my niece and i are going to make a crustless chicken club pizza and salad. Should be good. I'm also going to roast a chicken for dinner tomorrow. Easy and good for you.
Glad to see everyone here doing well and exercising! You're being a good example for me. Gary: That prayer vigil must have been awesome. what a great supportive church you have. Rosebud: Great job on the ski walking! I miss living in the country and the fresh air, wildlife, etc. I think that's why I find it hard to walk here in the city. There is a park nearby that I'm going to utilize this summer. flyaway: Welcome! My prayers are with you. Bulimia is a serious thing. I'm glad you recognize what you're doing and also suggest that you try to get help with it. Prayers!! Hello to everyone! I have to go get dinner ready. |
 HELLO EVERYONE ~ we had a lovely, sunny day again; so I went out SKI-WALKING again for over 30 minutes today, but a nippy wind started to come up with a bit of snow mid-afternoon. I have been staying ON PLAN well this week, and with all the Ski-Walking, it has been a good week for me.
Was a busy day; our SWEETIE's tumor?/lump has had some changes today. So was busy giving her some extra-special care; she is walking a bit slower, but she is still as perky as ever. Her meds (antibiotics) are making her sleep a bit more, but that is expected (they make me tired too). WILMA ~ nice to see you drop in; glad things are going well for you. How do you make the 'crustless' chicken pizza? I have made an omelette pizza (yummy); an Italian crustless pizza (cooked lean chuck with tomatoes, mushrooms, and cheese; have heard of pasta pizza (like it sounds); W/W Pita-Pizzas & W/W Tortilla Wrap Pizzas are our new faves (the crusts are much less in C's; only 80-160 each pizza). I have to admit, we do live in a pretty area; there is a lake behind us with rolling hills behind it; another lake down the road towards the west with a wooden bridge over a stream; and another beautiful lake towards the east that we go to all the time (where the cottage is). GARY ~ YES, that was quite a turn-out; maybe your Prayer Vigil should become an annual event. RENA ~ we heard that California will need an ARC pretty soon; lol! SHY ~ He was a typical male; and the girl always gets the eye. COUNTING ~ I love the SKI-WALKING becuz the poles give me extra balance in the snow; always had problems walking in snow and sand, but the poles give support to my back and legs. WELL, we've had a busy weekend; gonna just relax tomorrow. Maybe I'll cook a small turkey; love having the leftovers for sandwiches and soups. Anyways, have a nice weekend everyone; and take good care, your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD:hug:^PRAYERS^ continue for you and yours ... |
Rosebud - thanks for the update on SWEETIE. I'm glad that she is doing as well as she is :) AND - thank you for continuing to post about your ski walking. You inspired me to drag out the X country skis (after 7 years of non-use). We did 2.5 miles this afternoon - and it was wonderful! I forgot how much I missed it.
Wilma - glad to see you are doing well! I hope you got in that walk!!! Rena - what a great idea to force some bulbs indoors. I love daffodils, they always cheer me up when I see them. Rennie - about your pastor story. Looks like you are doing great with your exercising and losing too! You are posting 2 lb losses each week for BL - which is DOUBLE your normal rate - WAY TO GO!!!!! Fly, Gary, Sue, Jennifer, and everyone else - I hope you have a blessed week! |
