It's not a diet forum. It's a 60 day course. It's a combination of a bible study with a focus on weight loss. It's free.

i did go check out the site a little bit, but was wondering about the nuts and bolts. btw: i'm a fellow homeschooler who is really ready for school to be done this year lol!

First you register.. give a bit of basic background stuff.
You are assigned a mentor (someone who has gone through the course and guide you, if you desire) Each day you sign in - read the study - answer some questions - all online. It somewhat reminds me of the format of "purpose driven life" - a small study each day in God's word and some simple questions (there are no wrong answers - you learn more and grow closer to God)
Your questions and answers are emailed to you. I plan to keep those emails as I finish the course - to see how I'm grown.

This is no magic pill - but my thought is how can I grow wrong reading God's word and focusing on weight loss?

Thank you for this recomendation. I have signed up for the course. I think it is going to be very interesting and challenging - just realigning my thoughts so that my reason for weight loss is the glorification of God rather than to further my own ambitions is going to be challenging. I feel that I've slipped so far into myself and my own selfish ambitions when it comes to weight that I've pushed the real reasons for being on this earth down so far inside me that God must be in despair.

If anyone else signs up for the course it would be great if we could keep this thread alive to offer each other support. I think that the course is going to be challenging and being accountable to and supportive of each other may be a great help to us all in achieving eating patterns that glorify the Lord.

I haven't had a chance to sign up yet. I do think it would be great to keep in touch with each other to offer support, but I don't think the 100lb forum is the right place for this. The 100lb forum is an incredible mix of religions,races, social economic populations....all bound together by one common goal...to lose weight and lead healthy productive lives. Our differences don't really matter here. While my faith is a very integral part of who I am and how I live, not everyone here at the 100lb club shares my faith and spiritual ideals. There is a forum here on 3FC for faith based support groups. Maybe we can join one of those groups for this thread or form a new group....of course, we will still participate with the 100lb club!...afterall, it is the best group around!

100lb club is definately the best group around! Everyone here is fantastic - I don't think I would have any dieting success without this group.

Perhaps Sandi or RockinRobin could move this whole thread to the appropriate forum?

I must say girls - this course is very good..
I'm okay with moving this thread - makes no difference to me. I posted it here because I enjoy to share my faith and there may be members here (at 100lb club) that have not been exposed to this. I do not push my faith on anyone - however, I think it's important to be there for those that show interest in the Christian faith

btw.. Lillibeth - I love your ticker! - those line dancers are too cute!

I'm planning a fast - I am still struggling with the idea. Have any of you fasted before? I never have and am scared!
