Heart Rate Monitor

Hello! I'm going to buy a heart rate monitor and was looking for opinions. I'm considering either the Polar F6 or Polar M32. Does anyone have either of these monitors, and if so, do you like it, have you had any problems, would you buy a different one if you could do it over again?

If you don't have either of these models, and have one that you recommend, what is it and why do you recommend it?

I'm really looking for a model that will show not only ranges, but calories expended and keep track of my progress.

Thank you in advance for your help!
:)

I have the F6 and like it. I wanted Polar so it would sync up with the machines and one that was coded so it wouldn't pick up the signal from the person next to me. Mine's about a year old and I haven't had any problems.

The most interesting thing I learned from it is that weightlifting is actually quite a cardio workout! :D

Hi! How helpful is the heart rate monitor in exercising?

Extremely. I don't exercise without one.

It tells you if you aren't working out hard enough or if you are working out too hard.

I find it also useful in telling me when I need to pick up my workout. Since I do the same workout every weekday, it helps tell me when I need to start adding intensity.

I never found a heart rate monitor particularly useful. I find perceived exertion to be more telling for me. I also had problems since I am small ribcage but large boobs (34G) keeping one in place. The ones that go in the bra dont work because those bras arent supportive enough, the ones that you wear on a band get pushed down by the weight of my boobs and lose signal and interfere with my bra support.

I want to have one too. But I checked and most of the heart monitors are expensive. I'll look for a less expensive one since my mom is gonna buy it for me. :p
