Bouncing boobies?

  • Hi ladies---

I have a question for you. I have a large chest. I exercise regularly, and while it does get a tad smaller with weight loss, I'm lucky (I guess) in that I lose weight other places first. The unlucky part of this, of course, is that I'm a jiggly bouncing mess on the track.

Has anyone had really good experiences with sports bras? I have one that is alright, but I don't like how it feels/looks, and I'm sure there are probably more options with better support. I'm going for support first and foremost, and style/comfort secondly.

    Thanks for your help!
  • Sports bras usually fit snug and flatten you out but, you could try what I wear, which closes in the front and the back is like a t back which gives great support but lifts you up. Try Just my size.com they have sales a lot.
  • I unfortunately have to wear a regular, underwire bra, then a sportsbra, then a tight fitting tanktop. Yep that is my running attire. I don't have to wear all of that for a regular workout, just for running because I lose breath so much quicker if I don't. Hopefully you find something that works for you!!!
  • Enell bras stop the bounce, but they're not pretty. (enell.com)

  • That's exactly the problem that I have! When I run, all the bouncing causes me to lose my breath. It's not so much a problem on the bike or when I use an elliptical trainer... but when I'm jogging... my lungs wear out way way before they should just because every step causes such jarring! Thanks for the suggestions, you guys! I'll see what I can figure out.
  • Enell works for me!
  • I'm a 34D (but started out a 38DD). The only sports bra I've ever found that was (a) comfortable, (b) great support, and (c) "looked good" (ie: no uniboob) is made by Donna Karan. I forget what the model name is, but I think it's the only sports bra she makes. I love them so much that I wear them every day to work, etc.
  • Title 9 bras work best for me and they come in larger sizes and bounce elimination degrees. When I had my DD chest, my girls barely moved in that bra even while i was jogging. The bra itself is as comfortable as an athletic bra can get.

Personally they are the best athletic bras I've tried.
  • I where a sports bra, then a exercise tank with a bra built in. I need the extra support.

  • oh. i never thought of doubling up. mostly i use a regular bra in a box for everything because i can't find a good supportive bra in my size (48DDD anyone? sigh)
I have one sports bra and it is so tight that instead of a uniboob I get the quad-boobs action going on. not sexy and certainly not comfortable at all. i do prefer to breathe...
I can't even find a good regular bra much less one for sports. *L*
  • I LOVE my Enells! I won't give them up! They're expensive, but worth it for large chests! I got mine from breakoutbras and they were a little cheaper than going through enell directly. Google enell and you'll find other places that sell them.
  • I was just reading Bob the Trainer's blog from The Biggest Loser show. On one day's blog he discusses how he's always being asked what the ladies on the show wear for bras. He says, "I've worked with alot of plus size ladies. The question is not WHICH bra they use, but how many. They get the best result from wearing 2 or 3 different styles at the same time."

I don't run, just walk fast, but when I do lose enough weight to where I will try, I will want to protect my assets. I will wear a tight functional bra-type exercise bra like enell/title 9/champion, cover that with a typical aerobic bra top from Target, with shelf liner, and then probably will cover that with a cute tank top or tankini top. That's the plan at least, for now!
  • I was told about Enell bras a long time ago, by someone here at work. I'd love to get one, but their size chart "only" goes up to a DDD. Well, I'm a 40H...is there any kind of sports bra I can get? Does anyone have any ideas for me?

  • ok, i'm gonna warn you guys, that once you guys get past a D cup, sports bras get ugly.... I am a 36F and have not yet found a nice looking sports bra... i'm not sure if it's possible

here are a few, sorry girls, but bras that give support like this have to cost more

and long story short, it is probably just best to go to a good lingerie store in your area (good as in a small store that does bra fittings, not VS, or La Senza)
