making up missed workouts

I've missed two workouts this week bc I've been so busy studying... which also means sitting for hours at a time... so not only am I missing workouts but I'm sitting all day which is far from what I was doing all summer long. I need to get active! So my question for when I have a little bit more time soon is, will my body get the same effect if I combine two days' worth of workouts into one? Like if I want to throw in the minutes that I missed into my regular exercise routine once I go back to the gym? I don't have too many minutes missed. I know I could just let it go and move on, but I'm not sure I want to do that for the times in the future when I imagine it will happen again which overtime will mean many missed workouts. thanks!

Hi- I would increase your exercise time a little, but be mindful of your body in terms of eating well beforehand and not pushing yourself too hard.

Great attitude though.

Life happens, and sometimes we don't do all the workouts we would like to do. I wouldn't double up workouts to make up for the ones you missed. Maybe do 15-20 minutes more cardio, or more intense lifting. Take an extra walk. Doubling up your workouts may wear you out, and the following ones won't be as effective.

Try to plan your workouts and routines around your life happenings. If you are a student, then studying and passing IS priority.
